Bristol Harbour Railway - Peckett Weekend - Sunday 28th June 2015

  • During one of it's running weekends, the Bristol Harbour Railway held a mini Peckett Weekend featuring a trio of Peckett built locos. The line operated it's normal services along the lines to the SS Great Britain and Ashton Bridge using on loan and soon to leave No 1788 'Kilmersdon' from the Somerset & Dorset Trust at Washford. They also ran Driver for a Tenner turns on newly arrived 'Teddy' up and down the sidings. Rounding out the trio was resident (and largest) Peckett 'Henbury', which was on display in the yard pending overhaul.

    My Father worked for Peckett's along with my Granddad they were both Boilermakers.

    I remember when the train ride would take you up that old bit of track. I wonder why they stopped going up there.
