I enjoyed this review. Out of all my Kickstarter titles, this one had been received the most enthusiastically. While the system is simple, the choices are quite meaningful and one may find replay value in scenarios, since different strategies can make for different results. I also quite enjoyed the expansions and got them all to the table more than once. This is rare with Kickstarter games. One thing I wish you had mentioned is there’s a vibrant and accessible online community that has generated many fine scenarios. I enjoyed this much more than Imperial Assault, and only KDM got more playtime than this. Almost all others remain “waiting” or were sold on to others.
@@BoardGameBollocks I know. I myself leaned in to the last Kickstarter and finished off my collection. I believe they want to have themselves a web store in the near future after this Kickstarter. You might find people willing to trade on BGG - it seems you’ve got a good collection yourself so maybe that’s an option? Anyway - good video. It was the last game I got to table before Covid happened. A nice heroes win in the Asgard box. Clever, quick, and brutal good fun.
Love the vibe. Coming back for more. My only complaint w Conan is that most expansions are unavailable/only found if you back the Kickstarter. I don’t dig that at all.
Great game. Just managed to get everything i missed along with latest KS (added solo/coop mode and others). The support of Monolith and fan content are immense!
Yes, it is still worth it. For me will stay forever in my bunch of games. Waiting for next KS to arrive... love the minis, love the beautiful ladies in line with the comics that I love also. I prefer to play the bad guys - skelos, normally other people want to be Conan or Belit... got used to be the bad guy :)
Kinda surprised you even brought up the “potentially offensive imagery” I mean if you can’t handle scantly clad men with obscenely unrealistic body types pumping out sweat, musk, and masculinity then you may as well just lock yourself up in a closet. Silly really to get offended by such things. ❤️

Dont be. Games are meant to be played. Do you rather have many enjoyable memories of you and your friends playing the game, or having a mint condition game sitting on your shelf until you hop into the good old wooden box? ;) I had to realize this too and stopped stressing about preserving games for eternity. Even stopped sleeving. Every dent on any card keeps reminding me of the good times I had with my buddies...
Backed this one on KS but ended up selling my copy as it just didn't get any table time. A good, solid game and I was disappointed to let it go. Later picked up the older Age of Conan game which is a very different (more Risk-esque) type of game and, ironically, this one also struggles to get to the table, but it was considerably less expensive, so I was not so bummed about having a chunk of money tied up in a game that was collecting dust on my games shelves.
You should have a drink and play a game with the Critical Drinker. For some reason, I think of his channel when I watch your videos. (With a little Jason Statham mixed in there).
Hell yes, the game is still worth it. I spent a couple hundred bucks on that game. I was one of the first hundred backers. If you are a Howard fan, you have to own this game. I replaced my HeroQuest and Dragon Strike figures with this game. I lost my others in a robbery. Who the hell steals board games.
I am a massive Conan fan, the first wargaming campaign I participated in was a huge affair across the continent of Hyboria and that was in the 1960’s. My regular gaming opponent went all in on this Kickstarter and I endorse your recommendation although it has not had as much table time as his investment would have deserved. Not to be political - oh fcuk it - we are unlikely to be playing with anyone who wants to update RE Howard’s attitudes to the 21st century and if we did we wouldn’t bring out Conan, there are always SLEUGs for them, I suppose. Thanks for posting.
For the don't like part: - The Overlord website was made specially to get way more scenarios. (the-overlord.net/ ) - For the rules book, I agree, the translation are awful in English. Lucky me I am french, so, when I play with friends with my english version, I always have the french rules book on the side, to check what missing. BIG example: the only 2 player scenarios in the rule book, it miss all a part of the rule for the overlord when he wants to use the special crow power. Except that, the game is awesome, simple and really enjoyable. And the Community create so much scenarios and even Crazy Campaign that you have not finish to play

Enjoyed this game but getting hold of anything other than the core set is a nightmare. Could do with a couple of new boards but they’re ££££’s

I love that most of scenarios are using custom rules especially created for it, so no scenario is the same :)
