As a dad I started gravitating towards handheld and it honestly has felt like I’ve been more present and found more time to play in general. I’m not glued to the tv or monitor.
Same, my Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch get 90% of my play time. If I ever touch my PS5 or gaming PC, most of the time it is via remote play/Moonlight. Playing handheld lets me be where the family is and be present. I can set the device down whenever. Switch/Steam Deck are golden for this because their sleep modes are sooooo good.
Love this one, and it is so true. We need those minutes to recharge.
Majority of me growing up, portable gaming has been a part of it. Now, my wife's on her first trimester, I guess I can be part of the Portable Poppas now? hehe I'm glad I found your channel recently! The videos gave me an insight of what my hobby can help me with from now on.

Honestly the only time I get to myself I don't see it any other way than going portable.
I don’t think a “trinity” for video games can exist and not include a device like a pc or traditional console because of the shooter genre which is huge. Shooters on handhelds is no bueno

Love the content man! As a new dad to a now 3 month old and wanting to be present and active with him and my wife portable has definitely been the key to still maintain my passion for the hobby and still be present. Don’t get me wrong i love games that are grand adventures but playing a shorter well put together story and finishing it in 10hrs or less is something I wish the industry would go back to a little more often. For now retro it is.

I see you mentioned church not sure if you are a follower of Christ but it’s an important part of our walk to utilize our time here efficiently and effectively. I decided not to get a Steam Deck & I will wait for the Switch 2 all because I prefer having those options like card-cartiges & subscription services (Nintendo Online). I don't like Blu rays, streaming & I don't trust digital purchases especially from Steam or the Epic Games Store

He’s using the rg35xx plus and said he ordered the sp model the portable emulator to recommend really depends on what systems you want to play though.
