- Chicago Simeon was undefeated (and nationally-ranked) heading into the Pontiac Holiday Tournament. The wolverines faced Lisle Benet Academy led by Dartmouth Commit Niko Abusara. Benet defeated Joliet West earlier in the day. Simeon has been led by unsigned senior PG Jalen Griffith, Sam Lewis and the Rubin bros Miles and Wes all season.
It was a 1-point game in the closing minute. Check out the full highlights.
This was Simeon basketball coach Robert Smith's final game coaching at Pontiac as he's announced his retirement following the season.

If Jalen Griffith grew more he’d be a top 10 player in this class. Still underrated in my opinion.
Facts.
If If If and more ifs. Said the same thing about this team last year and l watched Glenbard West and a few other teams bring them down to earth with a few 20-point blow-out losses, also saw them lose downstate last year as well. Gimme a break, City teams play well against each other. When they face more fundamentally sound teams outside the public league they get embarrassed and blown out.
@@danielpires8940 What does this have to do with Griffith again?
@@TimothyC.84 : If if if, he's not growing any more, and they cant win the big one. He jokes in the big games. Lets see him win a State Championship, they lost twice downstate, both games he got outplayed.
@@danielpires8940 Ok and getting outplayed happens. That’s why the games aren’t won on paper. But in my opinion, Jalen is a Division I talent.
Jalen Griffith & 23 for Benet actually impressed me. It’s refreshing to see guards who just make the right plays.
23 on the white squad is nice af
Nikola Abusara
@@owenmasching8950 Dartmouth commit
@@FMSFoundationMusic yeah I got to see him play last year at a tournament
@@FMSFoundationMusic I know ur comment old but ofc Dartmouth, gotta use that basketball to get ivy scholarship. Smart choice.
Benet is composed and very good as well good luck!
W game 🔥💥
23 a good ball player who will grow more
Number 0 and 23 on white are tuff
Come to GreenVile IL on the 5 of January at 6:00 to see 8 grade Leo Sullivan
why?
@@jacystore1337 because he is 5,8 guard averages 15+ points a game dunking on 10
Met the 6
No, we'll rather watch the defending 7th & 8th grade State Champions from Brooks Middle School in Bolingbrook, Illinois instead.
Number 4 on Simeon soft with the ball. Should be the last person touching the trophy.
Benet coach Heidkamp is probably the best in the state - wonder if he's turned down many college jobs
I mean you can say the same about Robert Smith. Coaching college is totally different ball game than coaching high school kids. You have to recruit kids all the time, and follow them everywhere they go, it’s like babysitting them.
@@petermalec5102 for sure, just impressive benet is so consistent even in years with no D1 talent.
No, probably if he get some wins, perhaps he'll get a few offers. But his team lost, not so good of an example of the best in the State, when your team lost.
Almost doesn't matter in this sport ,Simeon 2 Benet 0,ijs, but nice team, and coach, they play hard
Just wait till Metamora
