Is Fallout 76 Good in 2024?

- Fallout 76 first released in 2018 embroiled in controversy. Between deceptive marketing, micro transactions, and a complete lack of non-robotic NPCs, many were disappointed with the game. However, the year is 2024, and Bethesda has released 18 major updates for Fallout 76, with the latest being Expeditions: Atlantic City America's Playground. With all of these updates, and the recent release of Amazon's Fallout show, Dave Klein stepped into the vault of Fallout 76 for the very first time to see if it's worth playing for someone new.
#fallout76 #fallout #gamespot - Hry
Is this Todd Howard reviewing his own game?
I wondered that myself at the intro. While the resemblance isn't staggering, it is a resemblance. Maybe it's Todd's little bro?
synth Todd Howard. You would be a fool not to notice all the imperfections.
He's cloning himself now. Somebody has to stop him. He can't keep getting away with this.
This is Hodd Toward
They cloned Tyrone.
76 is designed for two people:
- Guy who *really* loved the based building and gun-play of Fallout 4
- Guy who *really* loves Bethesda fetch-quests
THIS.
Three people. The third person is someone who played Fallout The Frontier and wants to spite the developers by joining the Enclave.
Though there are some restrictions to building there is so much more to be built in camp than fallout 4 I love it
It's also for degenerate gamblers who love spending days farming end-game materials for that .1% chance of getting the optimal legendary effects on their armor. I'm totally not salty about how awful the end game content grind is.
True
You're alone at first because you're supposed to, everyone left
It's just nothing compared to something like Fallout 3's intro. For a long time, there were no NPCs at all, so I'm sure it felt even more empty with the state of the game world back then. It's still pretty sparse.
@@BoomSlang001cool? This isn’t that. The story was that everyone left.
@@BoomSlang001there are NPCs everywhere dude
@NerfHerder69 Not at launch. Not originally. Not until people complained and sales waned. Try again, NerfHerDER69?
I started 76 a few weeks ago and found it pretty fun. I even used my dialog skills to bypass some fights. Lots of fun, non combat stuff to do, especially lore and story stuff.
I honestly feel one of it's strengths is the environment and the creatures of the setting
Alot of Appachila's lore i feel can be kept and enjoyed
It's still got issues tho, but it's improved a lot more from it's early days
Just like ESO (Elder Scrolls Online) did
Certainly 100 times better then Starfield
They really need to remaster 3 and NV.
Yes, lets make and sell the same game again...
@S.... There has been worse remasters... A FNV remaster considering the technical issues on the vanilla version would be worth it.
multiplayer just turns me off nowadays lol. id be down to platinum 3 and NV again though
@@dickensanthonyyes like a sprint button would be awesome
@@S....def would not be at all… we most likely have another 4-5 years till we get minimal info on the next fallout game… a remaster of 3 and Vegas on similar engine as 4 would be a wonderful edition… I play fallout FSE as well with 3 and new Vegas combined… with enough modding if those 2 were remastered we could most likely get even a 3in1 mod back that merges all 3 games… just adding to an a amazing level of content. I’m so surprised how some of y’all are not about that 3 and new Vegas hype… those are some of the best stories, amazing DLC’s. Who wouldn’t want a remastered version of a 10 year old game… those are games that should have remasters naturally, they are old.
I almost wanted to quit the video after he asked why are you all alone in vault 76. They make it very very clear. Your character wakes up later after a long night of partying before reclamation day..
More than that, you're the last guy to leave cause you stayed in the vault for several months after all of your fellows left on Reclamation Day
He's a old dark souls CZcamsr so I don't expect him to know anything about any other game.😂
@@maccaronich It depends. For people who started played before Wastelanders came out, its what he said. For people that started playing after Wastelanders, you stay in the Vault some months more. Its very well integrated into the story and lore, and there are a couple of changes in the storyline and NPC conversations depending on when you started playing.
Felt like he’s just nit picking for the sake of it.
I think he was asking it in more of a rhetorical sense. Like "Why is this still how it is?" after all the updates, because he thought it felt weird and uncanny regardless of narrative justification.
Why would you skip 4 and then play 76? This is ridiculous.
Here's an idea. Don't play either and ladle tuna salad into your ears instead.
@@ninjabiatch101That's harsh. 4 is fun
@Rich-fr2yv Lol yeah it's aight. My favorite is 3 which is an unpopular opinion. New Vegas is definitely the better role-playing game. I think 3 has the best quests. 4 just has the best shooting. Which I don't care about.
Seriously.
They probs wont cover 4 until the next gen update arrives.
Bro didn’t even do the main questline such a unfair review
I mean. I often skip the main quest for days/weeks in the majority of Bethesda titles. Are you people defending this still?
I can't believe these are the people who make these videos. How do you make this video completely uneducated and then provide uneducated information to a broad gaming audience?
My guy didn't even touch the public events and nuke bosses that you can participate right out of the vault. Smh
There’s actually a lot of stuff in the nuke-a-cola compound. There is a keycard system that unlocks bunkers & gives you rare skins for power armor. Also a history of nuke-a-cola because fallout 76 is a pre-quill to the other fallout games Bethesda said in their conference. If you’re into the lore it’s actually a pretty interesting location.
Trying to play 76 like any of the other Fallout games is a mistake, it is meant to be played with friends and go on fallout themed questing adventures and build bases together. The game shines when you play with a couple vault dwelling buddies, especially after all the improvements and DLCs.
I have played Fallout 76 for years, completely solo. Except for the world bosses like Queen.
Had a lot of fun doing so, still having fun to this day.
Definitely don't need to play with someone else.
@@06dogb I mean ofcourse, it's still a fun game, I'm just saying it really can't compare to the solo experience of the other games, access to mods alone makes them way better, but with friends 76 becomes a lot of fun.
Yeah and pay bethesda for more inventory space😅
What makes it still fun? @@06dogb
@@ixinorits a bethesda rpg, its not like a completely different game. if you like bethesda rpgs you can have fun in the game. its that simple
Those quests you feel the critical components are missing, they are the original content often times.
It' feels empty because the original story had you discovering that everyone was killed by the scorch plague. They were all supposed to be robots. People were upset so they redid the story completely.
Nah , but fallout New Vegas in 2024 ABSOLUTELY YES
Here is how you use VATS.
1. Press Q
2. Use your mouse wheel to target head
3. Left click
It's that easy. How can you even strugle with it?
u need Concentrated Line perk for that, otherwise u cant target body parts
@@WRAAEEE yes, and they are using in the video. Very poorly i might add.
Just once, I want a game made in this timeline made to be ready on day one.
This will never again be the case. I feel like the last games we got that both were at the highest graphics and performance, along with being released as intended without micro transactions or dlc, would be about 2010-2013. Once ps4/xbox 1 launched it was over.
@@eoinforHIT a sad day for the things we love.
If game is made from business perspective and not passion, you wont see it.
If that was the case, this game would've been released 6 years later. If you want everything to be fully polished, don't expect the next bethesda game until 2035 or so
There are plenty of games like that, content warning, lethal company, enshrouded, etc. Here’s the thing the more complex games get the more bugs and time they take to make and thus the more push there is to release them early to make money, in general avoid games that have early access or are opening as a beta and triple A studios are notorious with this because the reality is they spend more and thus have more pressure to make more.
Generally speaking you’ll be safer with small indie games because it’s simply easier to present a full less buggy product quicker with a smaller game. But as games get more and more complex the ability to release them quick and complete costs more and more.
Did you ignore the main quest line? I think you would have had a better time if you would have stayed on the main quest. That Nuka cola plant makes more sense if you do.
Yeah his complaints seem to seem from his inability to focus not the game. I still have nuka cola scorched displayed from a quest there so yeah....
I don't know a single game that hands out story out of order.
It's very interesting to hear a review of FO76 from the perspective of someone who never played FO4. At least half the issues described here are also present in Fallout 4 too, but of course things like VATS not stopping time (in FO4 it slows time but doesn't stop it) are issues that can be fixed with mods, which obviously don't work in a multiplayer setting.
Honestly they should've made FO76 into a 4-player coop game instead of a MMO. Then it could've been tighter focused and have more story, and they could've kept the VATS time slowdown or freeze with an option to limit how long you can keep it open.
All I want is just a 4 player coop fallout/elder scrolls game. I played the coop mod for Skyrim and it was magical. If they could turn that into a game it would be a giant hit
Then they wouldn’t have been able to stuff it full of MTX, which was the sole purpose of the game, sadly
@@YazzPott very true. It would obviously take a decent amount of work, but if they were able to hire some of the community of modded that made the coop mod and put it in official. They would still make an absolute killing re releasing Skyrim for the 100th time, or fallout 4. Alas I don’t it’ll ever happen.
I do know starfield hired a bunch of the old modding community to help with the game, so that’s a step in the right direction atleast
Fallout 4 has way more current players than 76 according to Steam
Fallout 4 is addicting, especially with mods
fallout 76 has co op
@@milosennett4184 Yeah, this is only reason to play Fallout 76
@milosennett4184 The Co-op still doesn't really cover for the lack of gameplay. 5 years later and 76 is still not really a good Fallout game.
@@Bearjew2995 i agree
Never cared to try it because of the internet reviews and memes mocking the game, but after watching tv show tried it on Steam. And it was amazing, solo is fun, coop is fun. I only played FO4 before, but its really great 9/10 for me.
Most comments are saying it but this really is a bad review. Despite a disappointing launch they didn't give up on the title and there are a lot of things unique to this game to experience. I think its tied for the best fallout experience available. Choose this one if you have someone to play with.
Substantial content not covered here:
-Expeditions
(Entirely separate areas from the original game map with their own more in depth stories of 2-4 missions in different zones, there are currently 2 entirely different expeditions, Atlantic City & The Pitt from Fallout 3)
-Nuke Drop World Bosses
(When you play the main story and learn how launch nukes yourself you eventually learn there are 3 areas that when nuked cause world bosses to spawn, this is some of the harder endgame content and usually a large amount of people on the server show up for these very hard fights with very good rewards)
-Hunting down Rare CAMP Plans/Apparel
(plenty of unique apparels and plans can be found through hunting and completing of various limited time events, or bought and sold with caps/other earnable currency from vendors or other players, loads of fun for people who like collecting cool loot)
Also an entire new region is being added onto the base world map of 76 come June that is the size of an entire existing in-game region, with it's own new exploration, side quests & main questline. Bethesda also recently teased a new Nuke Boss coming in the Update as well, taking place in the new expanded region of the map. I honestly feel like you didn't really play long or deep enough to do a proper review on the product as it is today.
Edit: (All constructive criticism, no harm meant)
That’s crazy I was just watching a video about fallout 76 this morning
after a mike and zach talked about 76, I thought "is it now good to get 76?", then this showed up in 59 minutes ago
what a remarkable coincidence, I wonder if something related to Fallout happened recently

He spent almost no time playing this game and felt like he was capable of doing a review of it. This is the laziest game review I have ever seen.
It's a good game now and thoses saying the contrary have never play it or did play it for a few hours like you did , this type of games need time to be appreciate
Agreed very appreciate
Yessirski I’ve been playing for 25 hours now it’s a blast. Fiending for more Fallout New Vegas but this will hold me for now
This is just false.
He literally admitted he didn’t play the main quest or the tutorials then complained a minute later that the game had no direction
It’s because you’re okay with mediocrity.
People get so freakin hung up on the story of these games. I started this yesterday and played for 3 hours or so and find it very fun so far.
The gun play is actually really good once you specialize and get a good weapon. Going stealth commando with a Fixer is fun af, especially at community events.
Don't lie to yourself. The gunplay is the exact same as 4, which is completely fine, except 76 has loads of input lag, enemies lag when you shoot them, their AI breaks, and your shots take 2 seconds to register.
@@Mad-rg9sz Sounds like you have bad internet. I understand the feeling since my internet used to be terrible but the netcode is perfectly fine.
@@jackharold8379 its not bad internet, F76 doesnt have asia servers, so for someone like me from SEA, i can play other online games just fine, but any MMO with only Europe and US servers, I will be on permanent 200 300ms ping

The gunplay is better once you start getting better weapons. Incredibly tome deaf review ngl
The Nuka Cola plant is actually part of a main story quest. The reviewer just didn’t take the time to discover it.
Yep this is why reviews from the bug company don’t matter anymore. Hate drives clicks and they are encouraged to produce slop to drive engagement
I went in afterwards to say things like this might have been part of questlines I hadn’t activated yet. My critique was that exploring places that aren’t part of a current quest felt like a waste of time.
@@DaveControlLive that’s true to a extent but that’s every fallout game

If you had been there at release, with warts bugs and all. You would known you wasn't emerging the vault alone. A lot of other players did emerge from th vault as well. Just not any NPC's around. After all the gimmick was all the players would be the NPC's... I had like idk 4-5 other players right outside the door when I first played it back then.
But that´s irrelevant for a "..in 2024" video.

that's the spirit
You must have gone right out of the vault instead of left.
I feel like this guy just wanted to rant and didn’t even care if the video included misinformation.
yup
I didn't play any of the fallout games and I don't know anything about it, so which of the games do you recommend me to play first ?
Fallout 4 is best
I didn't play any Fallouts before 76 (only thought it bc I love in WV) and it's actually pretty good. This guy skipped the tutorial, wandered off and complained about it. Give it a try.
Fallout 76 is so fun love the online aspect with mostly all of the same features and elements of the fallout universe
Fallout 4 is the best all around. It has everything you want in a FPS and its solid. 76 is a such a mess I never tried it, and Im happy that I am smart.
@@bzsbzs350 Fallout 76 is not a mess and you’d know that if you had ever tried it which you admit you haven’t.
Nonetheless, I agreee with you that fallout 4 is best game.
Played from FO3 so was hesitant to try FO76. Its different to the earlier games for sure but I looked up after a few hundred levels and was still enjoying. Just finished the new season. When Im asked if its worth I say yes, just like the earlier games if you put a lot of hours into a game you're getting value for money.
I'm getting amazing value as I got it for free with Amazon prime which I don't even pay for haha
I absolutely love Fallout 76 nowadays. The world is beautiful and fun to explore. Launch version turned a lot of people off (rightly so) but those same people would likely enjoy the game now. Its packed with content

I swear everytime someone complains about rhe story not even being there or whatever its like they MISSED the whole wastelander and bos campaign. Like theres SO much story there for a new players like bruh.
Yea we should definitely listen do a guys review in a fallout game when he hasn’t played one in 14 years. Makes sense.
hmmm wonder why he doesn't understand some of the mechanics then. lol
Did you even play the game ? It sounds like you don’t understand main components to the plot of the game. Maybe try to play it again and listen to the story! That’s what helped me
Watching this guy try to play the game was painful with how bad he was.. No wonder he doesnt like it just following random side quests and not able to aim or anything...
It to mention he questions vault 76 having no humans inside. If he took a minute to read some terminals or notes left around he’d have realized the reason.
I honestly preferred the no NPCs and purely environmental story telling lol.
You’re not the only one. And for anyone who has played the BioShock games, picking up the recordings for story content should seem like second nature.
This isn't a shot at fans of 3 & 4 - but the way fans of 3 & 4 feel about 76 is the way fans of 1 & 2 feel about Bethesda's version of games. Each iteration is a stripped down version of the one before it.
Or the way fans of Diablo I and II feel about Diablo III.
Remove all expectation after playing 3 and new vegas as this is much more focussed on how you make your character rather than the story of the protagonist.
I love the SPECIAL system is 76 its by far the best of the series as it really allows you to make a character the way you want, and I love the events that everyone in the server joins in on.
You should think of 76 more as an MMORPG(like POE) than a Story game
Also being alone at the start is perfectly justified and it has been since launch, yes you had too much to drink at the party the night before so everyone else in the vault left before you. Quite understandable
This is an accurate review - very solid game
This is not an MMO, POE is not an MMO. Nothing massive about less than 50players to a server.
I feel like people that play this game don't go out and really play I've been playing since launch never really stopped. What I found it is fun with friends but the community is super nice and willing to always help. Yes this game had a bad start, should have launch like it is now. But this games story is your story. With your journey with you and your friends and the new people you meet and the crazy quest yall all go on. You can't go in to this game expecting a single player game it is not you can play buy your self there is ton of quest I feel like this video barly scratch the surface of this game.
Started playing with my wife this weekend and we both fell in love with the game. The atmosphere is perfect and the ability to have our own adventures parallel to each other were her favorite parts.
I got stuck on the DVLA mission kept bugging out freezing and I repeated the mission like 7 times. Never did finish it and I haven’t been back, that was 2018.
No, but Fallout 4 is
Modded maybe, fallout new vegas is still perfect tho
Fallout 4 is the Best Fallout game of All Time! 😊
With mods yes
New Vegas on PC is just a technical catastrophe, you have to install a several mods to at least make it run smoothly. However Fallout 3 vanilla on
Pc is completely playable.
No it's not. Just play new vegas
VATS commando is the way to go. It is probably top 5 for strongest builds.
I’m gonna try it out since it’s only $20 for the bundle. It’s at its all time high of concurrent players on steam charts due to the show. So im hoping for full servers and funny moments maybe? I know its not gonna be the standard experience but im willing to try something new
The no NPC complaints were weird. Considering the empty wasteland felt eerie and was explained by the plague and now you don't get to experience it.
It was definitely intended to be played with friends, alone in a wasteland to find vaccine
Single player persistent world with full mod support and ill play it.
Why is no one talking about 76 being the only fallout you can play with friends lol. Main reason why most play it
I love fallout 76, been one of my favorites because it has a special place in my heart due to something me and my fiancé play every now and then. Still very fun, and better now than before
Still playing it since 2019, I wish they implemented cross-play so me and my friends on PC and consoles could all play together.
Also, maybe it’s just me, but I miss Nuclear Winter on console…
My girlfriend loved the tv show, now I want to introduce her to the games. So... Is this game a good way to play together and introduce her? I know it won't be the best game but I think it's better this way than to let her play alone. I think...
@@ahirunakamura9592for some reason Bethesda hates crossplay and avoids it apparently they have no focus at all in bringing it into elder scrolls online or fallout 76. It would definitely make the game feel alive populated and actually can make it more fun
Play better games
@@mustaine136 honestly I can’t say, I still play the game with her even to this day. The base game is pretty fun if you play together and I think it helps show the world of what fallout is pretty well. It’s just not story driven like the previous games which is a huge impact to the world as well.
The premise of waking up alone in the vault after everyone had gone was established day 1...and since you're playing this 6 years later, you are definitely late to the party. 😘 Glad you decided to suit up and join us in the Appalachian Wasteland.
To answer his question, in my opinion the end game is the best part. Hunting for schematics you don't have yet to searching for the best legendary for your build, and on top of that despite what he said I have come across many quests by just exploring, for instance the nukashine quest line was pretty good and it was a pre wastelanders thing. Sure 76 has a lot of problems still but theres a lot of enjoyment to get out of it.
I grew up near the places in the game, so the fun for me was visiting real world places I knew. My wife, who is not from here, played with me and then was inspired to take a trip with me to see all the sites. That was the real value for us. I haven't really played it since for the reasons listed in the video.
I am currently playing Fallout 76 during its free weekend. I have 17 hours of play at this moment and I admit, its pretty enjoyable. Given its the only Fallout game I can coop with my brother (RIP Fallout 4 coop mod) and i think that helped our experience get better.
I played fallout 3 and NV but not 4 and thhe grind is always the same. Get the best armor and weapons and explore the whole map. The story is meh unlike NV but the various map events and quests is enough to get me hooked.
Why did you not play 4? Makes no sense
I haven't played in 2 years, and apparently I lost everything and i'm only level 3 for some reason. Also it doesn't work on ultrawide monitors.
Sounds like you were approaching Fallout 76 like any other singleplayer first-person Fallout, rather than a MMO. Of course it will be limited. Similar thing with Elder Scrolls Online in comparison to prior titles like Skyrim and Oblivion.
I would agree, but also disagree a bit. I find as a fan of single player elder scrolls games, I can enjoy ESO a lot more than I enjoy Fallout 76 in comparison to the other fallout games. Something about the world of ESO just feels a lot more dynamic and alive. There is a stronger sense of community as well for me. The game just feels like it has a lot to offer.
Is it crossplay between pc and consoles?
no cross play and bethesda has stated there never will be
It’s good they did a lot of updates
Loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I'm not a crafter type person so Fallout 4 was good but I didn't build anything.
Too be fair, the reason you wakeup alone and leaving the vault, is everyone else already did.
It actually kind of made as well, that there were no NPCs at first. It's only been like 25 years since the world ended. That was the whole objective of the vault. Open and repopulate. Gradually NPCs started moving in.
I think its been so long since he played FO he just isn't able to vibe with it and get why some things are the way they are.
6:30 I have a problem here because both of those locations are used in quests, both delivered by characters in the storyline
20 hours of gameplay and you guys don't even try the main quests?
I played both main and side quests. But, I was generally just doing things close to whatever vicinity I was in when I’d finish a quest. I also went over to do Brotherhood of Steel stuff for a while, which ate up some of that time.
I also wasn’t critiquing the areas in general - the criticism was that exploring something that wasn’t part of a quest you’ve activated felt pointless. Like - why go into a random interesting looking building?
is that guy Linus's brother?
1:19 that sounds too good to be true and if I know anything if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is

It’s also free atm
Yea Habie already did this, and he did it much better.
FO4 is great, you should definitely play it. It's sitting at 89% positive reviews on Steam, and it's easily worth your time.
FO76 is definitely much better 5 years later, but it's still an MMO. Hard for me to stay invested in those types of games.
This is not what an MMO is. If Fallout 76 is an MMO then Quakeworld was an MMO back in 1996. If you mean, "it's annoyingly grindy and people can show up and grief you," then yes, I agree.
24 players max in instance, it's not an MMO.
@@sapphyrus its an MMO in a sense that most quests boil down to combat or fetch things, NPCs are static and enemies respawn, tons of things to grind daily weekly overtime, instanced world bosses and events, etc

Quick question:
Will the game crash if I pick up that season pass? 🤔
Have a feeling this guy just said he liked fallout 3 New Vegas and everything but he's really not a fallout fan
Bro is Todd Howard's son. His dad watching this: son, how could you? 😢
Yeah, I started back at open beta. Play it now and then now. Originally there was no starting mission other than follow the overseer's path of left containers. She wasn't added to the map to actually find for several years. There is a lot of emphasis on doing certain goals on the game board to earn stuff to keep people interested. The final mission was originally to launch a nuke. Although you often also get involved in the brotherhood's anti scorched queen event. Which originally had no living Brotherhood people and is something that can be done over and over. Not really sure I would say it has a final mission these days. Works much, much better now. Game bugs are mostly gone.
Just start playing last week and game is actually good... I rlly like the Map and some quest are so cool... Solo play is great and mp with friends is fun.
Fair review for someone that only played about 20hrs in the game and really didn’t touch the story from the sounds of it. You didn’t even talk about the different factions from the settlers to the brotherhood of steel not to mention some of the hidden ones. Not to mention the loot that can be earned depending on your decisions. Let alone the loot that can be found around the world. Sure the game doesn’t hold your hand so one has to stumble upon the items, but no, there’s loot to be found in the world. From power armor to blueprints to craft just about anything in the game. Well regardless fair view, I shouldn’t really expect much from you guys these days. I feel like most of the content Gamespot releases these days is subpar quality at best.
You didn't play the story quests? Why? They're essential to the experience, you need to join a faction!
Just picked up Fallout 76 for free from Amazon Prime Gaming and this video popped up.
same ;p
it aint worth free
76 had a rough start but ended up being a good game. props to them for not giving up on the game and actually listening to the community and fix it.
This review doesnt make a lot of sense. It really sounds like he just didnt care enough to give this game an actual try and just did it because the show is doing well and because he knew how much of a scene fallout 76 made so he did this game just for those added views. How did he not know how to tag quests to create markers to follow like every other fallout? He didnt look at the quest after questioning why he was following an NPC for over 10 minutes? That isnt even an issue with fallout specifically, any RPG player would question why something was taking so long and look at the quest description. Did he just not look at his pip-boy? Then when he starts exploring, he gets annoyed that buildings have nothing in them but enemies and loot but knows this is an MMO? Why play an MMO and then complain about MMO things? Why would you skip fallout 4 when fallout 76 is known to be the weird one? I get that fallout 76 wasnt the best but this review really didnt even try to understand the game.
How can you not play Fallout 4? That aside, I'm about 5 hours into my 2024 revisit, and the improvement from release is substantial. I agree the legacy content from release is jarring, particularly right at the start, but I'm enjoying the game so far. Definitely made to be played with friends though, and not like you would play an older, single-player fallout game.
I've picked this back up and Im having more fun than I thought I would. The jank is still there but the game has a lot more to do now and Im looking forward to playing more of it.
If you hadn't skipped Fallout 4 then being in the vault alone wouldn't be such an alien concept.
Fallout 76 is a great game, love playing with friends and the online aspect. High level players are very helpful and friendly
Proximity chat is hilarious
If Fallout 76 had come out in a playable state back in 2018, I probably would have given it a try back then and stuck with it for a few years.
As of right now, I'm currently installing it on my PS5 with the suspicion my experience will be similar to yours, before I uninstall to make room for the next gen update with Fallout 4.
Thank god I got it free on PS+ a few years ago. Too many other games offer fantastic multiplayer experiences.
Fallout on the other hand, has been a series that excels best as story driven single-player outings.
@9:40 Why fallout 3 and new vegas and not fallout 4? what is the problem with 4?
I think Fallout 76 is pretty fun for the most part. I haven’t experienced that many bugs or anything.
I also last left off in New Vegas and after about 20 hours of 76game play (and museum visiting) I was craving a better story and thumb was asking for a break, often. Endless running and holding down the toggle stick. Go watch Silo instead.
The game has a decent story. It seemed you got distracted from it so you couldn't enjoy the single player portion.
Weird take. Exploring and figuring stuff out with minimal handholding is what I like most about this game.
I hated the game at first, but honestly the story is great and feels like fallout 4 with the expansion packs I’d say it is great
If you're anything like the reviewer then I'd say no, it absolutely is not worth it. If you actually like the Fallout franchise, in particular 4, then I'd say it's worth it. It IS definitely more fun co-op. I say this as someone who put probably 150 hours into the game... at launch, mostly with a friend. I enjoy the base building, and I love exploring and ambient storytelling, which there is a ton of in this game. However, if you're generally more into games with constant excitement, where stories and objectives are non-stop spoon-fed (which, honestly, I normally am), it isn't the game for that, which makes the choice of reviewer here weird; the quest he's talking about at the beginning leaves a marker on the map and doesn't even tell you to follow the NPCs... honestly, watching most of the footage here was like watching the Cuphead video with the guy failing the tutorial.
For all of its faults, however, the big win here over Fallout 4 is that it lacks Preston Garvey.
The reviewer is a bit of a bore.
This review better than the actual video review
Fallout 76 is lots of fun. Definitely worth checking out, despite what this guy says.
76 has been good for a few years now, at least since 2020. People are just stubborn and don't like to give things a chance.
You reviewed an MMORPG like an RPG? MMO per definition is less about narrative. If you play alone you don’t play an MMO.
not a soul asked them to make fallout into a mmo, its always been and rpg.
@@TheMsr47gaming and yet it is an awesome MMO. You don’t have to play it if you don’t want.
Comparing fallout combat to not being as fun and responsive as halo or destiny is wild I mean it’s kinda the point it’s more of a rpg computer style format instead of a console fps
The new Expedition is great for levelling up. It only takes about 10 min with the right build. Using my Shredder Bash AA, I destroy everything.
Usually don’t comment but I don’t agree with this review he really didn’t put enough time in to fully enjoy making a build, building a camp, and doing the multiple main quest lines
Complaint, complaint, complaint, complaint, bases that other people make are cool, complaint, go play Fallout 3 and NV, go play Elden Ring (for some reason..) and Helldivers (for some reason), then... "So how is Fallout 76 is 2024? It's okay. And there's nothing wrong with that." ... What?
So you didn’t read why you were all alone in the vault at the beginning , that would explain your answer in the video 🤦🏽♂️
Yeah this guy was clueless lol
