  • Short video of my Lego model of a classic showman's steam traction engine. The model is built to the scale of 3/4 inch to the foot.
If you like the model, you can support it on Lego Ideas:

    Hope you enjoy,

If LEGO really wanted to appeal to adults, they would make this. Unbelievable!

Absolutely amazing, I was wondering, could you please show what the prices for it are as I have grown up in a steam related family and I would absolutely love to build one of these

I'm so glad to hear you like the model! Especially since I have never been near one of these engines in real life - I had to learn everything from books and the internet. So if something looks awkward to you, don't hesitate to tell me. I'm constantly striving to improve my creations.
If you want to build one for yourself, expect a cost of ca. 350€ for the traction engine, and another 150€ for the living van (in its latest shape).
Parts would have to be sourced from several different online shops on Bricklink or Brickowl from a number of different countries, with multiple shipping charges. No one carries all the parts in a single store.
If that doesn't scare you, send me an email. As the project is currently online on Lego Ideas, I may not sell instructions, but we could find a way.

Tbh your Engine is spot on, the only thing it's missing is the smell lol, I might wait and see if your set gets put into a official set which it hopefully will, if it dosent I'll try and build one with parts from different websites

@@carmyllie_slate_railway I might team up with Wilesco (sort of German Mamod) and supply some grease with the kit, just for the smell...
If the wait gets too long for you, I could deliver a digital model and parts list! Get back to me if you like.

I love how the boiler is thin in this larger scale, no offence but your other traction engine design did look weird with a massive boiler
