We are The Curly Coopers, a vlogging family, who uploads videos of our life together every Tuesday and sometimes Saturday. My name is Duana and my husband’s name is Curtis. We have been together for almost 18 years in July. Our life would not be complete without our beautiful children Ia (13), Isaac (11), and Isaiah (8). We keep it real and love spending time together as a family. We love to explore what is around us and more. I hope you take this journey called life with us.
You guys knew what you were doing. I remember when you guys barley had 5,000 followers and now you have over a quarter of a million. And Social Media is definitely a lucrative business venture, but just like you said, you HAVE to treat it like any other business. You have to post and create content. And taking that leap of faith is what Ive noticed MOST successful people do. You HAVE to take that plunge and create that time and space in order to be successful, even if that means quitting your day job. So Im so amazed by you guys.

Social media provides an opportunity for people to create their own businesses. It's a win-win situation for families like yours who are building your brand but are also an inspiration for other families at the same time. We have seen your channel grow over the years and appreciate your content. Duana's concerns about the children is understandable but your children are inspirations, too. And you always make sure that they aren't exposed to negative influences...that's the key. Sometime in the future there's no doubt that you will meet people who are not only inspired by your love story, but also by the way you have raised your beautiful family. You are doing well for your family, but also for your fans. Other CZcams families have also grown into being able to run their channels as full-time jobs for both parents, enabling them to spend more time with the children. I was thinking the same thing..kids getting older..companies change up for new faces all the time. Nice to take a brake. But having a real job always the best bet when you have a family.

I fully understand working for yourself. I'm retired and love it. Congrats!!!! Make sure you have savings and do not touch it and make sure you pay your taxes to IRS. Always be in check with all the things you need to get done such as family and work around the house. Also treat the business like a real business (Sole proprietorship vs partnership or S-Corporation) and give yourself a salary and report it on your taxes. Keep really good records for the business. Talk to other people who are doing what you are trying to do.

I’m rather new to your channel (new subie!) but it is abundantly clear that you are both very intelligent, well educated people who are confident in your skin, so to speak. Social Media is the new normal. Your family is charmingly entertaining. My family is also very ethnically mixed. We are ethnically mixed, individually, as well as ethnically mixed marriages. My uncomfortable leap was when both my husband as well as myself retired together at age 62 instead of working until age 70. Definitely a new chapter for us and we have loved every minute….being together 24/7/365. 😀
It is such a great feeling, building a future for yourself and your own growth opposed to working to be a foundation for what someone else is building…that will never be yours. It is so fulfilling. We wouldn’t have been able to do the things we did as a family if I had not retired when I did.
