don't get me wrong these guys are some of the best drivers in drift racing but in my opinion we need to give some props to the guys flying those drones during these races

Notice how most of the accidents had absolutely nothing to do with Matt other than him crashing himself? Plenty of other people plowed into the rtr cars other than Matt

its because everyone is chasing power and drift speed and not skill and angle. idk why ever driver needs 1000 to 1500 Hp.
Did they change up tires this season? I’m usually spot on the FD seasons but I’d don’t catch one comp this year

Obvious noob question but how do you win formula drift races? Do you need to overtake the lead car win a crowd vote
understandable how you would ask that question and no whoever crosses the finish line first isn't your winner its who looks better in the drift.
It's jugged by 3 judges
For qualifying Each judge gives a total out of 100 and the 3 are averaged for a score.
In Comp it's a lead follow, leader judged on qualifying criteria, chase jugged on proximity and mimicry, they swap and the 2 runs are compared and across the 2 runs the winner is who did better in both positions.

Its not a race but its won by judge's decision. Pretty sure there are multiple and they rate stuff like how close you follow the car, how much spedd you carry and generally having a good flow.

I watched João Barion live in several drift stages in Brazil, I used to really like watching him, but now his overconfidence throws me off. I hope he can get it together (and be more competitive) before their sponsors give up.

It's not really his overconfidence. He's a good driver, and should have all the confidence, but he just keeps having car problems. We saw what he could do at English town when his car was in the right place. I just hope that car is in good condition for the next season.

You get points if you drift closely to the car ahead of you (or so I've heard). Crashing is supposedly pretty uncommon moat of the time.

It's such a shame to see what this motorsport has become in the west. Every car has unnecessary modifications for absurd steering angle as well as way way way too much horsepower. I miss the days when this sport was still new and had just made it's way stateside. It's also lame to see so many sponsored drivers that get brand new model cars every year. Ain't nobody rushing out to buy a 24 z or rtr cause they saw it crash into the wall at formula d.
Yeah I totally agree. It’s completely lost the essence of drifting. It was never ever about the power it was about having control with low power and a hand built car with low budgets.
Its called sport for a reason no point in keeping old stuff going it's best to change things up. And yes it's alot of money but end of day if done right your safer than anything

This is dumb. You don't drift cars on public roads so why practice drifting them instead of just racing? Makes no sense to me

You don't race on public roads, either. Whens the last time you needed to take a turn going 100+ mph? What does going 150+ in a 1/4 mile matter on public roads? So why bother racing? Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it?
The RTR mustangs are overrated i feel like a stock mustang with an angle kit would handle better or maybe a 4 cylinder turbo RTR would do better

Attend a World of Outlaws sprint car race. You’ll actually see a real RACE and you’ll see race cars pitching it sideways in competition to win the race!
