  • This film is the preamble of the documentary Heart of Glass.
Heart of Glass is a journey. A road trip through several countries on two continents in pursuit of a story.
The story of a young glass blower with a singular talent: Jeremy Maxwell Wintrebert.
The film follows him in his daily life--working in the studio and on the road.
Jeremy recounts growing up in Africa, where he drew inspiration for his first pieces. He speaks of his family of Franco-American origin, difficult events he faced, the challenges of returning to Europe. He speaks of his first encounter with glass at age 19. The first time he saw the hot glass moving at the end of a blow pipe was his seminal moment. The way the glass, fluid, delicate and mysterious, danced that day has forever changed him.
The film reveals how passion can undo a tragic fate.

Every time I see glass blowers working I am blown away. Even after many years of seeing this beautiful craft and recording it on video for my CZcams channel, I can be enchanted every time by the magic of the hot glass and the skills of the glassblowers. I just can't get enough of hot glass. Glass blowing deserves more publicity and attention. It is a wonderfully beautiful craft.
In many art forms the artist can pause and take the time to do something else in between. But as soon as the glass blower puts hot glass on the glass pipe for the first time, he or she will have to continue until the object is ready. And I did see making glass objects where glass blowers were busy with 1 object for 4 to 5 hours.
It is very nice to see Jeremy working here together with other famous glassblowers (Gert Bullée, Geir Nustad & Maurice La Rooy).
Glass blowers are awesome. Thanks for sharing.
