rachel, it's completely normal to be scared about moving! i moved for university this year and my family couldn't come down with me for even a few days because of the pandemic. i was absolutely terrified, but it all worked out in the end.

being away from home is such an overwhelming new experience but it’s still really exciting! i went away for college super eager but still nervous bc i’m so used to having that immediate comfort from my family but face time is great and texting my mom throughout the day helped way more. happy you’ll have this new journey! it’ll strengthen your relationships and grow your independence in the best way

I was in shrek Jr. a couple years ago and now when I hear a song from that musical...I love the musical but I just have a moment of like cringe, I was just so awkward when I was like 13 or 14. moving is always a big step! i’ve done a few big moves in the past two years, and even when it’s really exciting, it’s still a little scary. but the people you live are still there, even when you’re not with them, and it can also be the best thing in the world to get to interact with a new place all on your own

I know what you mean about leaving home. I’m in college right now, and it was really hard moving away from home. I go to school fairly close but I didn’t go home much... it’s hard. It is exciting and there are so many wonderful things about living alone, like really on your own, and I’m sure you’ll discover them. Despite the pandemic being awful and horrible in a lot of ways, I was grateful that I got to spend part of the spring and the summer at home with my family again. I hope being with your family during the pandemic also gave you some unexpected time to be with them. Sending you love, luck, and strength for this new chapter! 💜

I go to college maybe 3-ish hrs from my home and it was still an adjustment to not see my mom everyday when I first got there. everyone’s different and no ones rolling their eyes- being away from home takes getting used to, we completely get it and it’s completely normal!
