oh wow, I love the multiplicity of this video of new core moments for Rachel but also having such deep reflections about her career, society, her own personal growth and healing. Rachel, you are such a star, and you are growing brighter each passing day. I'm only two years older but it's so inspiring to see how talented you are and how much you have achieved in your 22 years. I have followed you on socials since the viral "Shallow" video but I've never dived into your vlogs or your channel too much until today. I cannot wait to go through it more, I am even hopeful that there will be some hunger games bts clips somewhere on the channel. I have been a huge fan of THG since I was 12, like massive--and it's in full force again with the release of TBOSAS. I must say that there is no one who could have played Lucy Gray but you and as a fellow Latina, I love that you were casted as Lucy Gray and represent her. Even more importantly, you brought her to life and truly captured her charisma as a performer but also a young girl who is navigating a world that has a lot of cruelties, as she knows from first hand experience, but still holds on tightly to hope and goodness. I love how you truly appreciate and understand the books and Suzanne's writing and it always shows. It does make me sad that you were emotionally struggling while filming TBOSAS and Snow White but it also amazes me because you performed so beautifully--and even though Snow White isn't out yet, I know it will be incredible. I personally also really struggled in 2022 and lost myself and went through a few traumatic things but I'm happy to say 2023 has been so much kinder to me personally and it's brought me a lot of joy, especially reading TBOSAS back in the summer and watching the film last month (but I literally watched it yesterday as well lol my third viewing). And I just hope that 2023 has left you feeling more triumphant and leaving you feeling more whole, since a part of you felt broken. In my eyes, I've never been able to tell but I do think knowing that fact does make you more beautiful. I am in awe and cannot wait to see what's next for you. Just came here to let you know I watched the hunger games at premiere day, binged all the original movies before I went to the cinema. I absolutely LOVED it! Long movie, but you and your colleagues managed to grasp the attention so well I never felt the need to check my phone and I was sad when it ended. Great performance, thank you.
I don’t even feel this should be discussed anymore but based on the continued prevalence of negative comments I think it needs to be reiterated. Upon listening to the interview in question, I literally could not identify one negative or ill conceived thing she said. Once you turn animation into live action it must become humanized by consequence, which brings with it the intricacies of human experience and transformation. Considering how highly problematic it was for women in the 30’s (most of you love to conveniently ignore this), it is completely justified and I would argue mandatory to address that. Snow White was a 14 year old girl while Prince Charming was a full grown 31 year old man, which is literally pedophilia. Why is everyone so loyal to the problematic parts of the plot of this movie? No, there’s nothing wrong with falling in love and that deserves to be celebrated without the automatic assumption that one is reliant on a man (which she even says in this video!), but I think for this story in particular for a character that had so little autonomy, shouldn’t she be given a plot that explores her own existence and intrapersonal evolution? Let’s be real, the continued love for the story of Snow White was never about Prince Charming showing up to kiss her in her sleep, it was about the cute cottage and the dress and the magic, all of which the live action preserves.

The way my jaw dropped when you talked about people calling you ugly...
This caused such a whirlwind of thoughts in me... firstly, I was so shocked because I, on a personal level, have always seen you as genuinely so beautiful and often found myself envying your looks (not to mention, you seem to be such a gracious and kind person on the inside, but that's a tangent point). So to hear that people would take time out of their day to write those comments was totally shocking, and part of me thought 'well if this stunning woman is considered ugly, what the hell am I!?' ... But then another part of me pretty quickly realised, as said in some comments already, that this is clearly a reflection of what is likely a nice little cocktail of these individuals poor view of themselves, their unfortunate view on the world, a shot of misogyny (whether internalised from women or projected from men), and also the added internet wall barrier of protection for them. Then on top of all that, we also are contending with this weird cookie cutter beauty standard that can only be achieved through means of plastic surgery. Despite being aware of all of these things, and their complexities, it is nevertheless so exhausting and disheartening to know that this is still such a loud function of our society.
Secondly, I feel so grateful that you talked about it on your platform, for this very reason. That someone as clearly beautiful inside and out as you can be the target of such vile hatred, actually reasserts the fact that these statements are empty. I wish we, as a society, could figure out a way to quiet these kinds of trolls, but for now... just keep doing what you're doing. Continue to live authentically and unabashedly, leading with love. That's all we can all do, I suppose.

Its so upsetting to see all the hate she is getting. So she's made some comments about the original Snow White... Margot Robbie never owned a Barbie doll as a child and admitted to feeling mortified when seen in the Barbie outfits, yet she didn't get any hate... Robert Pattinson openly hated on Twilight which practically put him on the map, yet he didn't get this much hate... so why does Rachel get targeted so much? She said these things in an interview over a year ago, why wasn't all this hate started back then? we must not listen to people there will always be haters jealous of the success of others who succeed. You shouldn't trust someone's opinion, because bad people will always write bad things, but good people won't write them, but that's not why everyone thinks these bad things . I feel as when I watched the movie I completely forgot I was watching a movie. You made me connect with the characters on screen, the emotions you expressed through your eyes and singing was just beautiful and painful at the same time. I don’t want to say too much in case people haven’t watched the movie. But I just don’t understand anyone who can dislike you for what I see as you being yourself. So it must be a difficult moment to see negative comments about a self you love being.

I can not comprehend the idea that there are these random strangers out there telling you that you’re ugly and not good at your job. Clearly it’s a reflection of themselves and their own insecurities and issues which are prompting them to, not just lie, but to attempt to bring you down. I know it must be hard to ignore, but just know that the kind people who are in a good place themselves see how talented you are. You belong. ❤

Rachel, I haven't been a close follower of you yet I have always admired your talents from afar and was happy to hear that you were getting recognised for your singing and acting skills. This video was really eye-opening to hear about your experience and it has made me really think about the idea of fame and being a celebrity. "Everyone wants this... Everyone wants to be us" but no one can ever truly understand what 'this' is. In my opinion, you are so beautiful and we all know that everyone struggles with self-doubt and appearance but when you have worries being echoed in the mindless hate that social media allows, that must be so difficult. People can be so cruel and not even realise the impact of their words, especially when it is about someone simply doing their job which happens to be in the public eye. rachel, i have been subscribed to you since we were both 16 (2001 babies whoo!) and while i initially subscribed because you are a talented young person in the musical theater space, i stuck around because you put out so much light into the world. you are supremely talented, beautiful, generous and effusive with your love towards fans and friends, and a really fucking funny person. if there are zero rachel zegler stans in the world, it's cus i'm dead.
