    TESTIMONIALS
‘Started hitting the moves laid out in these courses the very next class...extremely uplifting to have such a quick improvement in my game’ - Houston, TX
‘I’m the only white belt in the academy doing these moves…I’m suddenly competing at a blue belt and above level…thanks Coach Tom’ - LA, California
‘Some of the best strategies you are going to see for control and submission’ - London, UK
‘The detailed way Prof Tom breaks down his moves into the absolute essentials is just next level for me. This is absolute gold‘ - Sydney, Australia
‘Most of the guys at my Academy, have about 60lbs on me, but since purchasing your ‘Kimura Attack system’ and ’14 days’ everything has changed. I feel much more confident, roll better and the guys on the mat have commented on the same. Thanks, Coach Tom’ - Dallas, TX
‘I know you have your names for your courses, but I’ve renamed them the ‘Zero to hero’ courses, I went from getting constantly owned, to now being completely dominant on the mat in no time at all’ - San Diego, California
‘I use the course material heaps, and just recently put it into action at a local comp, walked away with double gold. No one was more surprised than me! - Miami, Florida
‘As a new white belt, these classes have helped me so much, Prof Tom’s technique, the details, and his attitude. I love how Prof. Tom shows the ‘mistakes people make’ and then shows the correct way of doing things. The only one I have ever seen do this’ - New York, New York
Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver
‘All of it. Everything you show in your awesome videos are now my ‘go to techniques’. Thanks for your vids Prof, Tom’ - Houston, TX
‘You really have to watch every second of the video because Prof, Tom drops these little nuggets of gold throughout the course. And they make ALL the difference. The only one doing this. Keep them coming Professor’ - NY, New York
‘If I could only be taught from one person, Prof Tom would be it. I can’t wait to train in person one day’ - Dallas, TX
‘Went to a recent competition with these videos fresh in my mind. I knew I had an edge and the confidence this gave me was unreal. Got the gold. All submission wins! - LA, California

Chaining works a treat for this white belt. Last weekend's roll under a brown belt mount: Bridge, hold position to keep his arms posted, and trap arm at the elbow and bring in, but he frees the arm. His hooks go in behind my knees so I defend my collar while disentangling hooks behind my knees, remembering in the process an Emily Kwok elbow escape detail which is to push his base out on one side with my knee so I can step over and hook his ankle in. Elbow escape with shrimp makes space. I shrimp the opposite direction and achieve half guard and get the lockdown, I bring my knees to my chest and elevate him with lockdown in place, make space, create a scramble and insert butterfly hooks. Mission accomplished. Being under mount feels safer than side control for me, even being caught in an Americana/figure four lock is an opportunity to get on my side and shrimp while fighting the lock.

Good job brother I totally agree it’s super easy to put people there I don’t like working on top because I’m a big guy. But in Crossbody or on the bottom of Crossbody it’s always good I’m usually never in the guard either, but you can end up there so it’s always good practice!
In my school we always work on that also when they get to be blue belts I make them wear blindfolds

I've been doing nogi BJJ for a month, and was able to better my situation under mount by doing the knee up bench press style escape to slip a knee between myself and my opponent. I didn't get the foot lock, but it meant I was able to survive a bit longer. Thanks for these videos, professor!

The demonstration of the wide knees + squeezing knees and how this affects your opponents base was a bit of an eye opener for me. I'm 2 weeks into BJJ and in my first ever "free roll" I believe I was in both of these positions ... one where my opponent squeezed their knees and one where they had their knees wide to stop me pushing them over. I froze in both scenarios because I had no idea what to do. These videos are great and give me things to think about! I appreciate it!

Interesting to hear you say that if you are a better player rolling with an inferior player you should let them start in a more dominant position. It makes me notice that (as a white belt) the more competitively successful players I have rolled with have always been more likely to allow me to start in a dominant position (and sometimes they instruct me on how to tap them out). The one's who are intent on breaking my spirit (even if they are a higher belt) seem to be the one's who loose most of their compeitive matches .......

Does Professor Tom speak to my coach and personalise the content?! ;) We were only just working on loads of leg locking techniques this last week....going all Danaher-esque on set up and control. The week previous, we explored escaping mount and going straight on the offensive, using butterfly guard etc. A few nice wee pointers here that go beyond simply white belt level. I know many others at higher belts who persist with the traditionally taught, basic trap and roll. That wider, lower (tighter) squeeze on the leg being trapped always helps make any bridge more effective because it connects their hips and reduces their opportunity to marginally or totally disconnect & therefore render your 'explosion' a waste of energy. You're downplaying it to say it's a 'white belt tip'. Nice work as always, Tom.
