#pokemon #pokemontcg #pokemoncards - Hry
I sent in 3 submissions that I spent hours and hours drawing and they didn’t get picked. The theme for this year was ‘magical moments’ and I was apparently the only idiot that took that literally. Turns out ‘magical moments’ didn’t mean draw something related to magic, it just meant draw a normal fucking Pokémon card….
I drew a wizard pikachu, a witch eevee, and an absol coming out of a portal.
Bro ur idea sounds rly dope i hope it's in the gallery if not do u have a place where we can see them
That sounds great! I also don't think the majority of entries met the magical moment brief... I painted a charizard guarding a hatching egg... I guess they just wanted some generic crap lol
@@williamhawkes8117a Charizard guarding a hatching egg sounds dope! Yeah it’s frustrating to think that I could have done so much more with the illustrations if I didn’t think I had to put those restrictions on myself.
Those sound super cool! Sorry you didn’t get picked. I drew 2 Bulbasaurs making a big pillow fort but didn’t get picked either
AI artists are pathetic
People entering AI art...what some losers.
I hate AI slop so much, theres so many incredible artists who could have reached top 300. :/
Human made art is EFFORT and TIME put into an artwork, why do some forget that?
My art is on this as "suspected AI" when it's not (Eevee in snow), my art is just heavily stolen by gen ai, probably why it shows up at 90%. It sucks that so many ai generated pieces made it through but it's really upsetting to be accused of using it when I haven't. I wouldn't want any false consequences because of it. :(
dang, that sucks
Yeah, eevee in the snow didn't give me ai vibes. The atmosphere was purposeful.
Man I feel for u that rly suxs
Just know that we don't think any less of you because you're an AI. It sucks that your memories aren't real and all, but you'll get over it.
Obviously we can’t just take your word for it, ma’am. Hive is never wrong.
AI checking AI to see if it’s legit. Sounds legit.
Incoming public comment from from AI:
AI has investigated AI and has found no wrongdoing.
That's actually a hilarious. True, and complex point. I love it
I mean. I'm not sure why people think that's a bad thing. What better way to determine if something is computer generated than a computer programmed to detect it? Before long it will be impossible for the human eye to tell. What's wrong with using the tools we have to fight people using other tools?
in short: by uploading such artwork youre only cheating yourself
while ai can be a useful tool to generate art ideas its important to not upload them it should not be abused and should instead be used ethically ( and by ethically i mean not to be used in something like competitions )
I think, they should also added a rule that you need to give sketch and final art.
My entry was Pikachu eating a “jelly doughnut”, so close to Pikachu eating a hotdog lol
Simple solution would be a physical media contest where you actually have to illustrate on paper or canvas and send in your original. Just get back to basics.
Its also making the judges life so much harder 10,000+ entries if Ai wasnt allowed it would be alot less
I’d be embarrassed turning in something AI generated.
Most people would, but many wouldn’t.
I feel like we're very close to ai art being indistinguishable from authentic art. Art contests will need recorded proof of illustration.
If it looks like garbage and it’s 100% generic, it’s ai
If someone can tell AI from non AI now, they won't be able to soon enough.
Why? It’s not like ai is improving.
Considering there is a cap on entries and then the one person I’ve seen whose art is AI and then also had the same part of their name in over 6 entries shouldn’t be allowed at that point for breaking at least the entry rules?
AI art is something for people to play with but shouldn’t be sold or entered into competitions. As it uses other people’s work to model off.
Definitely against the rules with the likely countless entries they submit.
So, I think the reason why ‘vigo k’ and any name similar to that one has been pointed out is because, for even an experienced artist of their craft to make something like that, it would still take a lot of time to get what ‘vigo k’ had submitted (I’m guessing this person submitted 3-5 different works). ‘vigo k’, ‘vigen khachadoorian’, vigen k’, and another one similar are the same person but submitted with different names hoping to not be too suspicious. I can imagine an artist being able to submit maybe 2 to pushing 3 depending on style/medium used but the sort of style/medium would take months to complete depending on lifestyle and responsibilities. I’m saying this as someone who draws as a hobby so I hope a more experienced artist would comment their opinion too. Anyways, this was going to happen and the only thing I hope Pokémon does in the future is say no ai art is allowed and if found or suspected to be ai will not qualify or can be trashed from the competition. Oh, and all submissions must include a speed run video of the creation of each submission and any that doesn’t would, unfortunately, be trashed too.
I didn't catch the name similarities and there are rules against submitting from multiple accounts.
Yeah that's bullshit. How did this not get picked up at any point in the judging process is embarrassing, immediately spotted the similarities in the pseudonyms.
I just saw these on fb and literally my first thoughts were this is A.I. art 😂
Kinda shitty my daughters hand drawn Eevee snuggling a stuffed Pikachu didn't make the cut....she not a good artist at all but it did make the fridge for a solid 2 weeks.
I entered a hand drawn illustration but I didn't make it through
What did you draw?
@@verschworungstheorieverste2499 Koraidon, I posted the picture on my CZcams Community tab
I dont like AI at all & will not support it
You know what's also not legit? Spheal, Sealeo, and Walrein not making Gen IX Pokemon Scarlet and Violet...
Good news, they're disqualifying the entrants for submitting Ai Generated art.
I draw pokemon art, This actually makes me depressed and difficult to keep trying to be an artist.
I don't want to eat anymore man.
Next year they (TPCi) needs to set some standards. And need to make artists show their work and try and prevent AI (full) being used
Al art in a contest to be featured permanently is a promo us such scam type shi
Ai art will ruin amatuer art. No one will be trusted
Is AI allowed if the AI submits it under its own name?
This is so heartbreaking for the artists that gave a significant amount of time towards creating a custom art piece.
Pikachu eating a hotdog ultra premium collection coming holiday 2024
Double upload day?!?! Sick, man!
Technology... such a blessing and a curse. I'd think it would take a special kind of douche to turn in something AI generated for a high profile contest like this.
That and there's probably so many entries from the same person. I didn't notice the name similarities until after recording.
@@RattlePokemonOh dang, that slipped by me as well. I'll re-watch to see what you mean.
this is why i was iff’y in entering this contest because the 2022 one had a lot of bs that rubbed me the wrong way. and if people don’t know about some of the bs im talking about maybe dig alittle deep to find out why because i ain’t your “google search bar”.
At the end of the day people don't give a damn about your process, all that matters is the end result.
Says the scammer
Maybe we need to stop referring to AI generated images as Art.
Can’t wait to meet rattle at card party !
Digital artwork is still not Drawing, fair is everyone using same materials as in pencil or colored pencils that's it😂
"Walking with shoes isn't really walking because you can only walk while bare feet' that's how stupid you sound
I didn’t think you owned the image from ai, can you give permission for Pokémon to use the image commercially? Could there not be some pushback if Pokemon did print a card with it on?
going to go make "Pikachu eating a hotdog" with AI and use it in my video for tomorrow, thanks for the good idea Rattle
update: jesus christ Rattle that was such an amazing prompt I'm going to have to credit you
please post it in my discord when you have a chance
@@RattlePokemon got you
AI aside, watch the most normie one win again.
I don’t have a horse in the race but I feel like the right thing to do is to continue the contest as is but have some clause that if you cannot prove that it wasn’t AI generated, the prize money won’t be awarded since it’s not technically YOUR illustration, but an illustration can still win or place. Based (paraphrasing) on the rules of not having someone else assist, it is not black/white but rather a gray area of violation using AI but since it wasn’t specifically stipulated, it can be an argument. I definitely feel like it’s unfair to use AI but the rules weren’t specific enough.
Very ungraceful🥲 Much love ❤
Knowing this is the future of art it's really sad that ppl who don't put ne effort in to actually becoming an artist can just use Ai n it's going to cause massive amount of doubt when it comes to real digital art n buying it. I feel for the real artist who will in the future have to deal with all of this. But like they said sooner or later they will figure out a way to beat the system. N it's atrocious for the art community
Let’s go!
The next competition will just literally AI Art spam since there is no need to care any longer. Why should I draw when I can spam AI Art in minutes, EZ for non Artist to overwhelmed the Artist using AI Generated content.
It's not "fan art" if you used AI, that's the bottom line...They will have to adjust rules going forward and have some sort of proof that AI was not utilized.
AI cards sounds so lame.
If the AI is a Pokemon fan it is fan art, so just tell it it is a Pokemon fan first! lol
L actual artists
That was me, I love AI pokemon creation❤
their upset? i sent in 1400 ai generated images and none of them even won
Personally idc if it was AI. If it wasnt in the rules. Ai assisted art is the quartz crisis for watches. Yeah, a lot of jobs go away. But in the end its fine.
How reductive
@@KykyJyky it's a youtube comment. By its very nature it is reductive. Cant exactly write a thesis. Look into quartz crisis. It'd very applicable. In the end many people chose to take the easy route, but there's still a large demand for artisan craft, and those peices are by far the most valuable. That's how I see this ending up. Artists will need to adapt to set themselves different enough from what ai can to or utilize the technology as a tool In ways better than your average person can manage. Hopefully that's less reductive for you.
I mean, I'd prefer strictly hand drawn art.
But digital art was already pushing the boundaries, ai generated art just made it fewer clicks of a mouse.
If CGI is permitted than I really dont see much of a difference between the too.
You're still having a computer compensate for your lack of ability, to debatable varying degrees.
You could argue articulating an accurate prompt into midjourney to reflect exactly whats in your minds eye takes a significant amount of time and skill too. But not if youre just accepting whatever it churns out as permissible.
My opinion;
Hand drawn art is like riding a horse.
Digital art is like driving a manual car.
AI art is like driving an automatic car.
I don't agree with this analogy. AI art is more like taking a taxi. You're not driving, you're just telling someone else where you want to go and they'll do the driving for you (and depending on what model you use, you don't even have to pay the driver).
The only skill you need to be an AI prompter is to be able to properly articulate your instructions, and that is neither artistic nor impressive. Heck, you don't even need to be literate. That's what speech-to-text software is for.
Before generative AIs were a thing, I doubt anyone considered art commissioners to be on the same level as the artists that drew their commissions. I don't see why AI prompters should be treated differently.
@@luchotenks2310 You're right it is like a taxi if your inputting simple prompts and willing to accept whatever it churns out.
But its actually pretty difficult to write and extremely detailed prompt over and over again until you get exactly what's in your minds eye.
The "skill" in AI art is hidden in the prompt writing. Though you could get a text based AI to write a prompt as well.
I reckon in the future you'll likely see AI artist typing their prompts and trial and errors live or recorded to show to artistic process.
Umm… CGI takes a LOT OF SKILL. The same as any other artist. It’s just a different medium you work with. It’s extremely nuanced and can take hundreds of hours from 5-10 people at a time.
I see where you were trying to go with that but CGI and AI aren’t even remotely similar. The artists still have to painstakingly model their creations, and then there’s the animations to do as well!
There’s tools that help render some stuff to get the groundwork laid, but it’s way away from being considered AI, that’s for damn sure.
Just felt like that might help you understand. :)
@CDBIII You could also painstakingly write the perfect prompt over and over until it was perfect and contain over 100k words.
I do photography and videography alot of edited programs basically take photos and turn them into digital art, almost automated, in some instances with filters they are automated. The lines get blurry for sure.
