Are cheap ND filters good?

- For a long time, I’ve been using neutral density (aka ND) with my camera because I didn’t have any internal ND available.
Now with the increased popularity of ND filters built into cameras like my new Canon C70, the Sony FX6, and many more, variable ND filters from companies like Polar Pro, NiSi, and the two that I tested, the Prism Lens FX Variable ND and the K&F Concept Nano-X Variable ND filter, are getting better and less expensive.
So, I wanted to see what the differences are between a $50 filter (the one made by K&F) and a $100 filter (the one made by Prism Lens FX).
I expected to see some differences between the two filters but the results….. were VERY unexpected.
