    I’m looking at getting an awning for my 200series build. Haven’t decided on a brand yet, but I really like supporting Australian made.

      Being Australian made was the biggest reason I went with camp king industries 👍

      Reach out mate as we can put you in touch with a company that makes brackets to suit as well, and they are local to us as well.

      @@campkingindustries I went to your site but don’t see builds for 200series. I haven’t made my mind up on what rack I’ll put on the roof either. But whatever is there needs to be able to hold your awning. I’m keen as though. Wanna get some camping done is style for once. 🤙🏽🤣

      @@OutbackOutlaw the main thing to concentrate is the support system underneath. So if it's Rhino Rack get the backbone system or ARB get the Base Rack system. What State are you in?

      Now showing $3600 and it doesn't even have the front extension on it!!

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @davidlodge5940 I've asked about extending the canvas to the front but because they use genuine Australian made canvas unlike other brands just that front extension would add an extra $1,000 to the price & no one will pay that much for an awning. The reason for the high cost of this awning is due to the canvas. They could have used cheaper canvas like everyone else but they wanted a quality product without compromise. Top of the range isn't for everyone & most people would have no need to spend this much on an awning

    Sorry to say kings do have a warranty on there goods as I got all my stuff replaced and they store there parts in there stores. They great service and I had no problems with kings products. Even made in China. On tight budget. And I had my awning in powerful winds and never damaged nothing. I'am homeless too lost family to single lady. Travelling alone. It takes a long time to get over the pain and heartache. I cannot afford to rent in western Australia. I was born in south Australia 🇦🇺. Brought up in western Australia. 😊.. Please don't put down kings products as on a tight budget and good warranties and service and spear parts in the store.

      Hi if you watch more of my videos you'll see I started with everything on my car from 4wdsupacentre and still to this date use their products & even still collaborate with them. I love their products. They are the reason most people are able to afford to explore. They have helped many people to get outdoors. I never bag out adventure king's gear. You'll see from my videos I promote products from all kinds of budgets. Not just top of the range like most content creators

    I'm looking to upgrade cars at some point too, their canopy camper (has the rtt and awning included) looks sick, basically the Australian made version of the alucab canopy camper. But like you said, if I can support an Australian made business, I'd rather give them my money

      Yeah in the future I'd love to upgrade to their aluminium canopy with a built-in rooftop tent. Such a great idea 👍

      The last Campsite I stayed at the flies were so bad that I was killing them just by blinking, a little place to escape bugs and bad weather would be nice as I'd like to do more winter camping too

    @V870 Před 7 měsíci +3

    I disagree.. the reason you DO want to go with one of these awnings straight up, is;
    1. It supports local manufacturing and Australian jobs, and
    2. The ease and comfort from using a top quality and well designed awning, like a CKI awning or tent, will surely guarantee enjoyment while camping, encouraging future outings from a first-time, or novice, camper.
    DO NOT buy the cheap brands - they; hurt local industry, will lower the camper’s chances of enjoyment and, will no doubt just end up in landfill anyway 👎🏼

    I’m in the market for a 270. I had a DARCHE 270 gen two but had to return it as the bag was to tight to close. Was looking to get a bush company 270 max but thinking to much now as I’ve spent lots on my Ineos.

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  Před 6 měsíci +1

      If it's not something you use a lot then it's honestly not worth spending big dollars on. But if it is something you'll use quite regularly and want it to last for years then that's when I'd recommend spending the extra to buy a quality awning. But it's a completely personal choice and we all have different needs & budgets. Me personally I will never use any other awning after using the camp king industries awning. I love how quick and easy it is to setup and I know I can trust it no matter how strong the wind is 👍

    Great video, one question - on the rear side (I couldn't see exactly) is the awning flush to the rear so if you are using the rear door area is there a "gap" between awning and vehicle where rain and water can get thru?
    A lot of awnings have a gap just due to hinge and mountings.
    Cheers

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  Před 5 měsíci +1

      There is a slight gap but when I have the rooftop tent setup the rooftop tent also has an awning that hangs over the gap. I don't get water coming through the gap

    At 24kg’s in weight….. I’ll pass thanks. Until I see video footage of an anemometer measuring 50khr winds with the awning in frame over an extended period, no way would I trust that wind sail with out ground support.

    • @Campingdownunder
      @Campingdownunder  Před 6 dny

      This is why I don't recommend it to everyone. You don't need to spend this much money. Only people who travel a lot & are going to get their moneys worth on the investment should consider it. There are so many cheaper options on the market. Not everyone needs a top quality awning & unfortunately it costs a lot more to make a quality awning in Australia rather than just get it made cheaply overseas & import it which everyone else does

  • @auswazz

      This is why I don't recommend it to everyone. Only serious travellers that are going to get their moneys worth out of it should buy it. Most people don't need the best awning on the market. There's plenty of other cheaper options that suit most people better
