Even though I'm not Kelantanese I'm glad you picked Kota Baru Kelantan..the state hardly in tourist radar due to misconceptions towards conservative islamic state..true traveller like Moonshine and Lemongrass from Switzerland also having a great time in the east coast..there is also a few travelling youtubers giving Kelantan a chance and didn't disappoint them..but the tourist are pretty small compare to KL and Penang..the only place they would go in the east coast are always Perhentian..i even said Kelantan having among the best food in Malaysia but people say I'm just 'angkat bakul' little they know I'm not Kelantanese 😂

It was an incredible trip and we absolutely love Kelantan and especially Kota Bahru. The folks are so so nice all along the way . We visited a Malay school and the school kids were so incredibly friendly and curious. Really good fond memories of that trip. Hope to do this again in 2025.

Comfort and convenience is nice don’t get me wrong. A bit of modernization can be a blessing. In most places, cultural experiences in the city are mostly fabricated and “hipster-ized”, and most of the time, a tourist trap. If u want to learn about the people’s way of life, unfiltered by globalization and modernization, you gotta go to those smaller towns. The only thing is that you may encounter is quite a bit of language barrier in these places, so prepare to be a bit inconvenienced and sometimes, alienated, because some of them can be quite shy and timid.

None of us like it at all although we indulged in a few different flavours, still couldn't come to par as The Original Kek Lapis in KCH. Ended up we gave our Kazakhstan neighbours the Kek Lapis. Kelantan is soooo underrated. It's sad that Malaysians viewed Kelantan negatively because of politics. For me even though people said Penang is the food heaven but for me Kelantan is better. They have various type of foods especially kuih. The only drawback is the cleanliness. There are always rubbish scattered besides the road in Kelantan, I hope they'll do something about it. Because there are some beautiful places in Kelantan that was spoiled by rubbish which is pretty sad. Pantai Bisikan Bayu is my childhood fav place to go but was ruined by irresponsible people who littered everywhere around the beach😔. However, the food, the people, culture, the vibe of Kelantan will always be my no.1 in my heart. It's my chosen state to go when I want to take a break from city life.
20:55 Best bazaar ramadhan, I have to agree with that. KL bazaar ramadhan sorry to say but it's SOOOO BAD. Most of them seems like don't even know how to cook. But in Kelantan the bazaar ramadhan food is so delicious and there are soo many options to choose compared to KL.

You should go all the way to the last train station which is Tumpat.
The Top food district of Kelantanese's foods .
Kota Bharu kopitiams are selling nasi berlauk & nasi dagang from Tumpat.
Tumpat is the best district for Kelantanese foods as nasi air dingin & nasi kak cik
(sold in Klang Valley), nasi kerabu siam, ikan bekok and the best Kelantan's nasi dagang ( better than Tganu's nasi dagang Atas Tol )
    are from Tumpat.🤤

Your last Kuching trip was too short. Please come back again. There are still many more places to discover nearby; Bako, the Cultural Village, Semengoh Orangutan centre, Sematan, etc. and there are outlets for Borneo native foods you haven't tried.

I also need to queue when balik kampung in kota bharu, if I couldn’t come early, before 7 am. Also, even if our favourite restaurant is closed for months, we waited patiently until it is open again because it is special. Choices are unlimited in kota bharu but the special one is always in our heart.

Ha-ha it is jst a perception that Klang is “dangerous place”, it is untrue . Perhap it was back in the 90s where crime rate were high 🥹The Police has done a good job now. Agree with u, food is good around Klang Town 👍 Have u tried the famous Steam la-la in Klang, only for dinner. Check it out 🤓

It’s ok not to like kelantan and kelantanese people and they don’t need to change this negative thinking about us. We used to people not liking us. The majority of us are Muslims and in shaAllah we live according to the Islamic teachings so we don’t hate other people even though most outsiders don’t like us. We live harmoniously with all races in our humble state of kelantan

Most Japanese will only limit and explore in the city area like KL, Penang, Melaka and Ipoh. Not bad, congratulation to iChang and Jimmy manage to explore True Malaysia at intermediate level like villages and remote, secluded area.
The toughest will be the advance level where adventurous white people and few Malays who had travelled to almost every part of the world will explore the True Malaysia in the forest and sea. These adventurers will live with the indigenous people called “Orang Asli”, "Orang Penan" in the forest. They will stay with the sea gypsies called “Bajau Laut” inside the small boat in Sabah. It is a rough life for modern people as life in the forest and in the middle of the sea are the toughest.

It is true the locals can sense you aren't locals, coz I went to Kluang Johor and taxi uncle said, where you from, I was surprised and said you know I'm not from here, and he said yes he can tell I'm from outside Kluang 😁😁😁. People in these small towns are usually the nicest and friendliest people.
