  • In this brief and informal video you'll get all of the basics on the Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, from how to install the ink cartridge to basic tips and suggestions of how to utilize it in your artwork.
I made this video initially because I was giving one of these pens as a gift to someone. I tried looking for an existing video on CZcams that would explain some of the basics about the pen, but there wasn't anything really concise and informative.
So I hope you get something out of this video! And as always, make sure to like and subscribe! And share it too!

I use to refill the cartridge with a seringe and Staedtler ink for technical pens. I've been doing this for a while now and I can affirm that t won't ruin or clog the brush.

Ghost of Henry yes, in the long run it won’t “ruin” the brush per se, but I found it affected its performance in a way that interfered with my process. The ink flowed too fast and heavy, so I’d be left with puddles of ink in the lines. And it seemed to soften or loosen the bristles (it kind of lost its point). Could also just be the Rapidograph universal ink I was using. Ultimately, like with all art, it comes down to experimenting and personal preference. Glad to hear refilling your cartridges worked out for you! I might have to try the Staedtler ink. I’ve also read good things about Noodlers ink. But for now the Pentel ink works fine for me and what I do. Thanks for the watch and comment!
