- LONDONTOWN LONDONTOWN! As the famous quote goes "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life for there is in London all that life can afford". And same goes for its sprawling and incredibly diverse food scene! The home of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and Tower Bridge has been at the forefront of pop culture, art, and music but it is the food that'll keep us coming back to this great city!
In this video, we highlight all 15 places we ate at in London. From classic fish and chips, obscene Sunday roasts, comforting English Breakfasts, afternoon teas and even Indian and Chinese food, London has got so many great spots to explore and eat at.
This of course is not an exhaustive list but we hope you still find our experiences useful when you plan your own London food adventure!
Enjoy!

I’ve got to say what a fantastic video that was. I was a London, black cab driver for 31 years and still hold my badge and you encapsulated great places to eat in one short video.
There are so many more places (which are cheaper to eat at)which many London cabbies use ,for your next visit.
Free tennis lesson next time you come over! 👍🎾
Such kind words, thanks Dennis!! Will take you up on that free tennis lesson (and some of your reccomendations too) when we're in London next. Have to pick your brain about The Knowledge too cuz it still boggles our minds 😆
This is exactly the list of restaurants/chippys I was looking for- am returning to London after 35 years. Nearly all of my regular places are gone or forgotten. THANKS!!
Great Selection! Really showcased London!
Great video! cant wait to watch more
Awesome video, thank you. Food looks so yummy😋
My food experience of London is to find a Tesco's or other, small convenience shop and buy a sausage roll for under £2. Or take sandwich I made at home.
Regret so hard not trying a Tesco meal deal 😅
Wow I must say so many beautiful dishes made my mouth water I wish I was there with you thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!!!
You are welcome to london the best city
Looking very nice!! The food looks really nice!!😊😊
Instantly likeable hosts. Solid work. Thank you.
Thanks so much!!!
❤ great video as usual
Amazing and varied selection of foods in this video .-) Loved it .-)
Really great video. You really chose some pretty epic places! Great stuff...subscribed 👍
Appreciate it and thanks for the sub!! 🙏🙏🙏
This is the first of your videos that I’ve seen, and I’m looking forward to seeing more. I was enjoying it all already, and then, near the end, a SONDHEIM reference! Obviously, you are young. I hope that life has been kind to you… and I kind of hope that you never have to “learn”.
Thank you for this information! I have enjoyed this very informative video and I can't wait to get back to London after only being there for 1 day on a tour.
Thanks for watching!!! Hope you get to spend a much longer time the next time you go!!
Love the video I am fairly local to London anyway and have been all my life but watching videos like these shows me what I’m missing
Thanks for watching 😊😊😊
Loved the vlog! Foodie approved and so fun. Will be hitting a couple of these up this July! ❤
Thank you!! Hope you have an amazing time in London 😊😊
I was just telling the author that I have a number of other recommendations for Borough Market, Indian food, and Sunday roasts (Blacklock is good, but it’s kind of a local chain so I would go for a more authentic pub feel). Let me know if you need help.
I’m from London. Glad to see you enjoyed the food here 😋
Thanks! We had a great time!!
What a fabulous and entertaining video with a great choice of eateries.
Thanks so much!!!
Thank you❤ enjoyed the tour. Going for the fish and chips
🥰🥰🥰
The sausage rolls at Ginger Pig really are special.
this is one of the first london food recommendation videos that I nodded for each location!!! great suggestions guys and can confirm all of the places are legit great (salisbury may be a chain so any other pub should be good tho)
Now that I started looking at your Paris vlogs, I got curious about your London experience too because I’ve lived there on two separate occasions. E Pellicci for breakfast, Four Seasons for Chinese, and Blacklock for Sunday roast were all good moves. You seem to need help for the next time you’re in Borough Market, Indian restaurants, and I would suggest a number of other excellent Sunday roast spots in addition to Blacklock.
Great vlog! We are headed to London for 4 days prior to a transatlantic cruise on the Sun Princess from Southhampton. You gave us some great ideas!
Thank you and hope you enjoy London!!!
It looks so good I want to go to London🇬🇧
Thanks so much my son and i are going in July for two weeks were from London ,Canada
thanks for the video! going to london next month
Hope you enjoy London!
I liked the English breakfast but when looking for a restaurant in a hurry, it was mostly ethnic food like Pakistani or Indian food. Fish and chips were good, but too greasy & heavily battered. Finally, found a pub with better food. Now, the tea and scones were superb!
I come from the U S south where the food is the best, imo. However, I always eat the local foods whenever I travel. I was impressed with Scotland’s Salmon and Lamb Stew.
Your amazing CZcamsrs I watched your one on Rome as I was going there . I’ve now just arrived in London and I’m going to check out your recommendations
Ooohh nice!! Hope you're enjoying London!!
Wow
whenever im traveling to a place, i'll always look up your videos to see if you've posted a food guide of the city im going. cant wait to see london this may!
Thanks you so much and hope you enjoy London!!
I was just telling the author that I have a number of other recommendations for Borough Market, Indian food, and Sunday roasts (Blacklock is good, but it’s kind of a local chain so I would go for a more authentic pub feel). Let me know if you need help.
@@LeMagnifiqueDoubleAgent-cj4zo i'd love a local pub recommendation for sunday roast if you have any?
@@ems9097, Sure, there are lots of good pubs in London and I have lots of recommendations. Here are a few of my favourites for food:
1. The Anchor and Hope (the one in Southwark on The Cut)- I’ve been for dinner a few times and it’s always excellent, but I’ve never been for Sunday roast
2. Marksman- Excellent food and I can vouch for their Sunday roast
3. The Duke of Richmond (the one on Queensbridge Road in East London)- Also all around good food and excellent Sunday roast
4. The Drappers Arms- Also all around good food and excellent Sunday roast
5. The Harwood Arms- One Michelin starred pub with possibly the most famous Sunday roast
6. The Windsor Castle- Very good food and excellent choice if you’re in Nottingham Hill and the weather is good, as they have a nice back garden; I’ve never had a Sunday roast there though
7. The Mall Tavern- Also in Notting Hill; excellent burgers; I’m not sure about their roast specifically though
8. The Camberwell Arms- Well known for their Sunday roast
9. The Red Lion and Sun- Excellent option for food and Sunday roast
10. The French House- Well known pub for the theatre crowd with very good food; it gets really crowded and I can’t speak to their Sunday roast (even if they do one) though
Obviously, I don’t know where you’ll be staying, so I tried to give a selection throughout London, not just in one area. I hope this helps.
Thank you so much I’m from England but I’ve been in Texas now for 30 years oh my how the food has changed
I have discovered your channel 2 months ago and i would say you guys are really consistent with the quality of your videos. I already know you guys will become super big in the Future. Wish you a good trip.
Too kind of you to say 🙏 Thank you very much!!!!!
Kanada-Ya, our favorite Ramen in London. The branch you’ve been is the best one too. Do you have any more suggestion Ramen-wise? We were going to shoot a video for our channel about ramen bars in London but struggling to find very good ones. 🙏🏻
Supa ya ramen !
Unfortunately this was the only ramen spot we went to during our visit 😭
There’s a really good chain of restaurants called Shoryu. There’s a couple of branches in Central London. They’re a bit on the pricey side but their ramen is top quality.
loved it
Awesome
Thanks
Guys, give this video a thumbs up. It is the ultimate food guide in London!! I look forward to the next video from Madrid. 😊
Thank you!!!
Love London 💘😻💜
I’ve always thought Matoush was a great value. And the food is healthy and delicious
Food in london are class 👍👌😇
I have to vouch for Mother Mash! Best dinner my whole trip for such an affordable price ❤
Some cool spots, but i'd be broke if i ate at all these places!!
Give me a Greggs, Wetherspoons, Nandos, the local chippy and a Tescos Meal Deal instead 😀
Was highly considering going to Nandos but we have them in Auckland where we live too 😅
Oh man was good trast me I will go to London I love 💕 the way foods was ❤😂
Cant beat a bit of pie mash
Delicious!
nice review tick that ...
Just returned from London. Had an amazing meal at Da Mario's restaurant in Covent Garden. Wasn't really expecting to eat Italian, but so much of the pub fare was really terrible.
Great video. And thank you for quoting Sweeney Todd!
It's only right to quote Sweeney Todd!!
Nice food 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wow that english breakfast from e pellicci looks scrumptious. I was thinking about going to Regency cafe for my trip to london but i think i'll switch from e pellicci instead haha
Regency Cafe was one of our options too so we'll definitely head there next time! But yes the warm family vibe is something else at E Pellicci 🙌
When was this filmed? It hasn't been cold in London for like 6 month😂 also great recommendations, will def go check them out
Hahaha this was in February jsut took awhile to upload 😅 And thanks! Hope you enjoy these places 😊
Hi! Great video! Where sis you stay in London? What is the name of the hotel near Kanada-ya? Thanks for the travel tips! :)
We stayed at the Seven Dials Hotel. Pretty basic and small for the price but it did the job and the location was fantastic!
You missed Fallow (plus new pop up Fowl) sadly, new Fusion African cuisine places IMO 🥰
Gotta try those next time!!!
Harika bir İngilyere górseli olmus, tebrikler👍👍👏
Very very beatiful👍👍👏👏❤️❣️🌷
You should have tried chicken shop the wings are so spicy and delicious Hudson crumbly battered crispy the chips are cooked the perfect with the right amount of seasoning cooked in that chicken fat
❤❤
Bangers & Mash
Mmmm 🤤
Belated comment, London's Chinatown is an overlooked gem. There are Asian multiple restaurants that are lower in price compared to rest of London. Taste is very authentic.
Wish we had more time to eat at more places there!
yummy
Dang I went there back in 2014. I so wanna go there again to eat some nice food. But I got food poisoning 😅
No idea why 🤷♂️
THIN SLICED
ahh u missed alot of south asin food like sri lankan and pakistani! such a big thing here
Would you say salt beef is American corned beef? Great video!
Yep, corned beef in the UK is something else.
Yup exactly and thanks for watching!!
Hey guys i am latino soo that breakfast looks good but there is absolutely so way am american would eat this english brsakfast no way. Believe me
QST clip bldg in red I thought manchester library
i love the video but that is not a bagel hahaha
Oooooo Brick Lane Beigel Bake
Mate, why did you only get one chicken masala real? Londoner’s know that when it comes to meal time nothing else compares especially after a night out with mates on the drink. Chicken Tikka is meant to be eaten late off the piss when you can barely form a sentence that’s the true English way to eat the meal. Same goes for all the other meals you tried.
Amos
Spaghetti bolognaise and Italian 🤔🤔🤔
Chris Hemswoth
NO, NO, NO, Veeraswami is the oldest Indian restaurant in London!!
20 years older than Punjab.
James Bond 007 Pierce Brosnan
Sorry, I will pass on the breakfast. I had it and farted all day afterwards. 😩
Hope you had it checked👏👏👏
$1,000,000
Definitely NOT Hannah Ricketts territory!
You missed the SOUTH Indian Cuisine- Tamilnadu- Kerala state Cuisinme Just left with the NORTH INdian Punjabi Cuisine in London- thats one of the Indian food westerners end up as Indian cuisine- India has 24 languages with different dialiects and 24 states with various variations in each & every district...
Great video. Nice. No. Outstanding!
Thank you so much 😀
i would have to go alone cause i dont have close friends or a girl
99% of the food in london are cheap in quality but crazily overpriced 😂
Agreed eating out is so expensive in London
I lived there in the early 2000s and yes it was not cheap but you could find some deals if you looked hard enough
Yall just poor thats why
@beaujamo you are very wrong about food quality in London. The City has some very tasty selections however in certain areas it is quite overpriced
Depends on where you go 😂
Eat diliciues
The Salisbury (pronounced "Sols-brie") was also a gay pub for many, many years notorious for its unfriendly and resentful bar staff.
Yeah, that is how it is pronounced in the US also. This guy pronounces some words weirdly. Not sure where they are from but their pronunciations are a bit different.
@@jaklg7905they’re from Philippines 😂 that’s why they have weird pronunciation
14:30 Gregg's is high fat, high salt, low quality junk food. It's a pastry equivalent of McDonalds, KFC etc. It's NOT a must try experience at all. You guys are clueless. If you want proper hot pasties, go to The Ginger Pig.
They did go to The Ginger Pig...
If you watched carefully we did go to the Ginger Pig
So why promote Greggs then? It's garbage food that will lead you to an early death.@@locavore_eats
Greggs as one of "15 Great Places to Eat" in London. Are you on drugs?? @@locavore_eats
Greggs?? ROTFL. You guys clearly don't have a clue about good places to eat.
It’s expensive because it’s the capital but not cheap ingredients - quality sustainable products so it’s not cheap. Sorry it’s not the US 😂
German friend of mine just came back from Portugal. Said they made the mistake of booking an English hotel - the food was terrible.
You have had a very small taste of the UK, food throughout the UK is diverse as the accents.
You have totry harder!.
Our wallets couldn't try any harder Steve 😭 Promise we'll do a more in depth tour around the UK one day!!
Those fish and chips were not great looking. Go to Yorkshire for proper fish and chips.
Is that normal to put such huge portions in your mouths, scary !
Don't be scared!
How are you not 300 pounds? 😮
😆😆😆
It’s pronounced “teh-MAH-toes”!
everything triples in price in London. the UK is outside london.
Prices are still cheaper than most places in the US.
Bristol and Brighton have London prices
"Sal-iss-berry"?? No, no, NO. Salisbury is pronounced "SOLZbry".
8:36 What do you mean ONLY £24 per person for tea? That's a complete rip off. Stop promoting these rip off tiktok touristy places.
Compared to the hotel and department store teas we saw, it was so much cheaper which is what we were comparing it to lol
Tourist trap@@locavore_eats
What would you recommend instead? You can get a cream tea for under a tenner at several places, but that's it. Cheap afternoon tea starts at 25ish, but the decent ones are at 60 now. Fancy hotels charge up to 100. Prices have gone up tremendously the past 2 years.
You people need to et out of London. The food is better and more authentic. It's also cheaper.
Have watched a few of your vlogs about food in London and I can say I will not watch anymore. You keep going on London this London that, the UK is much more than London. Travel and visit the rest of England, Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland and you will find the food just as good even better and a lot cheaper and the people more friendly.
Thats not true for non traditional british food Im a foreigner living here and lived in Leeds , Edinburgh and now in London
London completely destroys any city in the UK for non traditional british food. If you want just the old pub classics and fish and chips then sure go ahead thats true
Clueless tourists.
yeah who do these people think they are??!??!?!?
It would be better if he didn’t pull the same stupid face every time he took a bite of food
nah
These fries have to be not real
The UK's food isn't very good. You guys really tried to hype it up but it's not very good. 🤷♂️
Your opinion I guess. We really enjoyed it 😊
