  • 2017 is a big year for the Honda Accord - this is its 40 year milestone. That's 40 years of Honda ingenuity, racing pedigree, countless awards and wins piled high. What has kept this sedan going so strongly for such a long time? Let's find out!
    For the 2017 model year Honda released 7 trim levels for the sedan, excluding the Hybrid variants which add another 3. New this time around is the Sport Special Edition. This takes the standard Sport edition and adds goodies such as a black leather interior, heated front seats, red stitching and Special Edition badging.
    Regardless of the trim level however, the Accord packs a punch in the family sedan segment. With a brilliantly tuned suspension coupled to engine choices both spritely and robust, precise and engaging transmissions together with a handsome exterior, it is little wonder that so many flock to Honda year after year. Few vehicles of this segment can so smoothly blend comfort, practicality and driving enjoyment so harmoniously.
    Inside you will be delighted to settle into comfortable seats built for a trip to the market or across the country. With every dial, knob, button and switch within easy sight and reach there is an immediate sense of logic that sets in. Crank up Pandora through the available 360watt sound system, open the moon roof, put it in gear and drive knowing you have extreme reliability behind you!
    The Honda Accord puts a smile on so many faces - you are next!
    Grappone Honda is located in Bow, NH just south of Concord and only 20 minutes from Manchester. Conveniently located at the intersection of I89/I93 - Come see why We are Driven to Amaze!

      After owning it a month I'm glad I bought it. It's similar to the 14 LX I traded in, but much nicer. Now that she's broken in a bit it's getting around 33mpg in all around driving. This is a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde car though. Meaning if you drive it responsibly, you'll get good mileage - if you drive with a leadfoot, mileage quickly dives towards the middle 20's, although with a manual it's often tempting to gun it especially when merging on the highway or taking off from a toll booth! LOL

    Road noise seems very pronounced. This generation of Accord has an infamous problem of wind noise. Have you noticed anything like this?

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 8 lety

      Thank you for watching Henry! Despite me best efforts, the road noise came through significantly higher than it was in reality, I blame this on myself and not the car. Have you gotten a chance to test this gen Accord on the highway yourself?

    • @henryuxie
      @henryuxie Před 8 lety

      I test drove a "16 and found the wind noise was excessive on highway. There are quite some online complaints about Accord's wind noise problem. So I was curious whether Honda has improved on their '17 or not.

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 8 lety

      Interesting observation Henry, thanks for sharing. Honestly it's something that I had not noticed. Honda is always working to improve their product, perhaps they have adjusted it.

    • @milfordcivic6755
      @milfordcivic6755 Před 8 lety +1

      Henry, I owned a 2014 Accord prior to buying this one. After installing the Honda splash guards yesterday, I did note that there is a lot less felt insulation in the wheel wells than the 2014, which is probably why road noise is more pronounced. That's ok, those felt liners in the rear do nothing but trap salt and moisture and rot the car out! I'd rather have the noise and some undercoating!

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 6 lety

      Totally dependent on the equipment level you are looking for. You can get an EX with a manual transmission; it will also include smart entry/push button start, a moon roof and better audio system. The Sport includes the 19" rims from the Touring, along with a sport body kit (side sills, rear lip spoiler) but lacks the extras of the EX trim line. I personally would get the EX for its moon roof. Wheels are much easier to change out than cutting a hole in the roof.

      +Grappone Automotive Group Good review. Whats your opinion, 2017 Accord Sport 6 speed manual vs 2017 Accord Touring - which one accelerates faster? Handles better? More fun?

    • @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup
      @GrapponeAutomotiveGroup  Před 7 lety +2

      Thanks for the comment A Yeque. The Sport and Touring are very different versions of the same car. The Sport comes with the standard 2.4L Honda 4cyl pumping 189hp and is available with both CVT and 6 speed manual transmissions, whereas the Touring comes with the 3.5L V6 mated exclusively to a 6 speed automatic transmission. The Touring is significantly quicker having 89 more horsepower than the Sport edition. They both handle very well. Fun is subjective; for me it entails whipping the manual Sport around a windy back road. For yourself it may be the acceleration and luxury that comes with the Touring edition. Best to give both trim levels a good goings over and determine which you see yourself driving daily.

Ithink, best finishes than your US model. Bizarre that the American model is less equipped than the Canadian model ... Surely the price is more expensive for me LOL. Thanks to this roadtest. I think the look, options and the agility of this car is superior of the Mazda6, Hyndai Sonata, Kia Optima, Ford Fusion or even Nissan Altima 2.5 SR. Well I choose it for the good resale price too. I got a Kia Optima 2012 and not for me anymore. The resale price is sucks LOL
