- Thinking about moving to Bali? Want to Retire in Bali?
This is part of our "Living in Bali" series looking at the cheapest end of the scale, where you could live, what is the cost and what to expect for your money including the cost of rent, food and your daily activities. - Zábava
Thanks Murray, it's great to see the real Bali if you actually live there on a budget and not the Instagram model version of life in Bali.
YEAH...I AGREE, THEY ARE WORLDS APART.....AND THE INSTA CROWD REALLY DONT HAVE THE SLIGHTEST GRASP OF THE TRUE BALI/ INDO LIFE, CULTURE AND SPIRITUALITY
facts
Thx for this video outside of the touristic places. This is what real Bali looks like. Me and my (javanese) fiancé rent a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, living room with open kitchen in Sesetan for about 3300 usd per year.
This reminds me of old Hawaii in the 1960s and 70s. Love it Love it. Love it
This sparks an idea for a series of "Living in Bali" videos that you could do. Each episode could focus on a specific aspect or topic of what to do and what not to do, what to expect, what really happens and whatnot. It'd be great to see the amazing right down to the mundane aspects.
Noted!
😮😊😅😂🤣😂
Keep them ideas coming for the Big Guy
You are a good soul, sir! Keep it up, keep it real. For those of us seriously contemplating living in Bali, your videos are a wonderful, verifiable resource. 🙏
THAKS MUZZA AND VIE.....
LOVE THE VILLAGE ATMOSPHERE, THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THATS GOS ON TO KEEP EVERY THING FLOWING.....
AND NOTHING REALLY HAPPENS WITHOUT THE BANJAR BEING INVOLVED ....
ie BEING PART OF THE PROCESS TO GET THINGS DONE OR APPROVED.
AND A GOOD BANJAR ALWAYS LOOK AFTER THE INDIVIDUALS AND THE COMMUNITY THEY OVERSEE.
REALLY LIKE THESE WALK ABOUTS MUZZA.
Hi Murray - I have a 2 x 2 double bed room each with shower & western toilet, Kitchenette / living room / large deck over looking a lovely garden. Back of Kuta up from The One Hotel. Had it since 2013 - 35 mill a year 😀
great video as always muzza, me and my bali missus of over 5 years rent a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom old style bali house with rooftop area 5 mins from the airport for $3,500 aussie dollars per year or about $290 per month,,this works out great for us as its only a 12 month lease so if there is a problem or we find a better house we are only locked in for 12 months, unlike multi year leases with villas
Thank you 🙏 for educating us on living in Bali 💜
I love pepitos 🎉 especially jimbaran sidewalk..has a bar inside the grocery shop..genius❤
I love these local markets in SE Asia. This one is exactly the same as the one in our village in Thailand. Its fun to interact with the locals. In the UK you scan your own groceries and speak to no-one.
Hey bro, been there with you my friend, glad Vie looks after you,and loves you so much, you are all about the people my friend, that's why we the people you know, love you guys so much, love you guys ❤
Pretty straight forward commentary Murray much appreciated.
I would love to see your mate's places and how they live too. I would insist on a western style dunny.
Your best clip so far. I love your beautiful wife adding her local knowledge on things.
Thanks. 😊
Last time I was over in Bali before that pandemic shite I went for a wander one morning and ended up in a little warung where I decided to try a local breakfast had a massive plate of noodles mixed with veggies etc plus a decent sized chicken leg and a big glass of Ginger tea and nearly fell of my chair when asked for the bill and got showna calculator that showed 7000rp which at the time was maybe 70c aussie !
We just loved this. Exactly the type of place in a village, we would stay. I can't wait to see more of these vlogs 😃
Great vidio, good to see someone taking about the real experience of living in Bali.
Keep up the fantastic work mate .
Just got back from Bali - what a beautiful place, loved it ❤
I've been looking for these types of series videos for years . Have even tried to get family members to make them to no avail . Am looking forward to all the info !! 🙏
Already subscribed, another thumbs up mate. Keep up the great honest guides. Every vid i watch makes me want to come over and have a beer with you. Cheers.
Really enjoyed this video, so informative. Keep 'em coming!
Your wife is so cute mate!made me smile when she said the big man carries my groceries!thanks for sharing friend!
HOW COULD YOU EVER GET MAD A VIE HAVING A GO AT YOU MUZZA?
SHE DOES IT I SUCH A SWEET AND INNOCENT WAY ❤😮😊
Wow Muzza. I see where a lot of the plastic comes from. It’s a shame.
Great show. You are always very enjoyable to watch. Cheers Billy.
Looking forward to seeing what’s next very interesting
Love the updates, and education on bali ‘real’ living ❤️
THAT SHADE CLOTH WOULD HAVE BEEN A VERY WELCOME ADDITION 😊❤
I IMAGINE ITS MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE, STOPS THE CONCRETE HEATING UP ???
Thanks awesome job love your work
Hi Winnie & Damian. The weather is looking fairly mild!. Canggu looking busy as usual. Thanks folks .See you tomorrow!!!.
Not Damien sorry
Sorry Graham I think U in wrong channel 😊🫰🙏
Oh NOOOOOOO, YOU JUST OUTED YOURSELF GRAHAM😮
I am thinking the post was made with a high degree of sarcasm. Pointing out the difference between the daily weather reports and some more indepth discussion... Or... He was replying to the wrong vlogger.. I prefer to think the former...
NO MUZZA, HE WAS REFERING OR COMMENTING ON .....THE MONKEYS - YOUE TUBE CHANNEL.
DAMIAN IS POLISH AND AND MARRIED TO WINNIE. YOU IS BALINESE
HE POSTS DAILY FOR 3+ YEARS IN BALI.
AND I OFTEN SEE GRAHAMS POSTS.... SO LIKE ME REALLY ENJOYS THE BALI CONTENT😊
What a great video! Keen for more. Following your channel now.
Does look great to me, just the weather is so nice even the wet season wouldn't bother me because it's still warm. The best thing is it seems to be a pretty humble village not too many flash houses. It used to be considered rude to flaunt money by building huge ridiculous houses, now it's the norm in Australia, not to mention the stupid prices. Indonesia will certainly be on the list for places to retire when the time comes. Thanks so much for the videos they really help an old bloke.
Not sure how this came up on my recommended
But absolutely loved this video
Thanks to you and your wife for the great information!
Thank you for the great information.
Very interesting video once again…keep up the excercise muzza.
😂you cheeky 😅🥂
Loved the vlog Muzza. Legend 🙏
Thanks for sharing Muzza, while I was living there I use to also go to the local markets most mornings and get my vegetables and meat I found it very cheap indeed but also good quality
Thanks Murray lov vids mate hope get see u over there some time catch up for beer u seem very genuine bloke keep vids up brilliant 👍👍
Thanks for explaining murray, exactly the same or similar to Lombok living,
prices,products etc.
The budget in Bali pet day is 130 Aussie for a two week million aire lol with change I recon
I like the interjections from your Mrs. 👍
Thx Muzza, much appreciated
Some of the kosts, that mostly the locals live in have a shared bathroom. That's fun.. not.
Nasi jingo is a common breakfast.
Where I live the local market opens around 3 or 4am and there isn't much left by 5.30am.. We go up the road about 10 minutes by bike to the market that opens around 5.30am. Local supermarkets (grocer shop) is heaps cheaper than tourist supermarkets like Bintang or Pepitos.
How exciting.
@ libatalk.....SEEMS WE HAVE A MISERABLE TROLL HERE😠
AND PROBABLY A VERY EMPTY LIFE IF IT SPENDS ITS TIME MAKING NASTY COMMENTS
Thanks Muzza for showing the real Bali similar to the Philippines in the province
Bali Belly Prevention on Holiday
Vacation is a time to take a break from the hectic daily activities. So, don't you want the holiday moment to be messy because of Bali belly? As prevention, you can take the following steps while on vacation and culinary tours in Bali:
Make sure to always wash your hands before eating and after going to the toilet
Use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol to clean hands, if clean water is not available
Brew tea or coffee with boiled water
Use drinking water to wash fruits or vegetables
If in doubt about drinking water, try to consume mineral water in sealed packaging
Choose cooked processed food and eat it as soon as it is served
Avoid eating raw foods, whether vegetables, fruits, or seafood, which are not guaranteed cleanliness
Do not consume sauce left open on the restaurant dining table
Avoid consuming dairy products and their unpasteurized preparations
Really good vlog cheers mate
Thanks mate from wellington.
Great video Mazza, how it’s really like in the village that I live on I’m there I really miss it. God bless you
thank big brother , senang saya melihat tentang asli kehidupan orang bali . I love your u tube big brother . by the way I am balinese . asal saya dari tegal langon pemecutan kelod denpasar bali . hope I can see you in bali . never been to bali nearly 5 years because Covid 19 .
🎉amazing men that does a lot for the Australian community. Well done 👏
Hi Murray, thanks for the tour. Very interesting. I Really loved Bali , unfortunately I was there six weeks before the bomb went off and a lot of people lost their lives. Not only Australian and a lot of other nationalities in the locals. The Balinese people are absolutely beautiful people are so friendly and helpful.
Good vid muzz, I haven’t seen that other foreigner for ages around your street, been there for at least 20 years I know of, hope he’s still doing ok
Very informative and very helpful
Awesome! Thanks for sharing the insight, mate! Love the content/delivery - keep up the great work! Would love some insight into the mindset when you went there - was it a considered move or just f**k it, I'm going? Wish you all the best buddy!
Loved this 😊thank you
Excellent 😊
Thank you 🙏
Im in a vils that is amongst it all its great to go out and eat at rhe locals
Good CZcams presenter, well done!
Very similar to the Philippines 😊
Definition of Village: a group of houses and associated buildings, larger than a hamlet and smaller than a town, situated in a rural area.
Thx for the video, pity you didnt show us around inside your house , looks spacefull outside
👍👍👍
Thanks for video muzza
Always welcome my friend
50c breakfast. $3 lunch upper class . Eat meat before 12 oc veg evening or cooked in front of you. $1- to $2. All yummy
Great video Murray
Thanks
Go the ginger coffee. Yummy
Beautiful people
Muzza, I like that you distribute rice and noodles to the villagers, but, meat, fish and veggies are so important for good all round nutrition as well. Do you distribute fish to the folks at all?
no because the villagers dont have refrigerators. Being asn island they are mostly close to a local fishing village and it gets spread through the community locally
@@MurrayWilkinson1 Roger that! Thanks!
AND THEY DO DISTRIBUTE SEVERAL KILOS OF VEGGIES WITH THE SUMBACO PACKS
Nice
Mus like ❤ YOUR site what do u do for travel and medical insurance,? Cheers
We went to Dusa Nua yesterday and it was so so beautiful compared to Seminyak
Cheaper than Thailand?
Lol viv love your vlogs😁
Than you 🙏❤
Are there any places like this close to the beaches? It’s how I remember Bali in 1980. Are the Banjar accepting of an Australian living in their village when not married to a local?
The closer to the beach the higher the price but yes you can find some. My mate rents a place not far from Sanur Beach for $5000 AUD per year with a pool (shared)
@@MurrayWilkinson1 Thanks Muzza. Just watching the Luxury Villa one and very informative. 👍
Whick market is this called bapak Muzza
A can of coke costs $5 in oz? Thats crazy....yep 50c will get a coke in Indo
$5 is a bit exaggerated, it's about half that. 5 will get you a 2 litre. Pepsi usually comes in a little cheaper. We have no name branded drinks that are still pretty good tasting that are around about half as much as the big brand names.
Stop drinking that shit, it is poison.
Nice cus
I’ve been having a hard time finding a place to rent a Harley. Is there a place that rents out Harleys, that you know of?
Almost impossible and horrific riding a big bike in Bali.
Contact me on WhatsApp+6282122246278
@@MurrayWilkinson1 thanks brother, I appreciate the information!
How much was your spa set up
2nd hand spa bath $300 and hut (bale bangong) about $400
Do they use refrigerators
In the cities and the affluent areas but not in the remote villages
this makes me hate living in oz even more ,so expensive
Do you wash your fruit and vegetables with bottle water?
Unless you have a filter system, I would. But households especially for westerners get the large 15 or 20l bottles for cooking.
A 20L water bottle only costs around $2 so we generally use that for drinking and cooking etc
local food always cheap in bali my husband ant living in bali but hes not eat indonesian food hes only eat wersten food ,is it possibel can living in bali on budget .😁
The Indos love their individual plastic packaging
Hi mate, is it possible to retire on $200 a week in bali inc accomodation
Possibly it's depends on Ur life style and Ur health status
If you need medical you will be sorry.
@@libatalklieb5793 medical in Bali is excellent and usually not that expensive. They are building a massive hospital in Sanur which will be a leader in the whole region in plastic surgery and other elective surgeries
@@MurrayWilkinson1 You hit the nail on the head. I am talking about life threatening surgery. What you are referring to are money spinners for them.
YOUVE GOT A BIT OF A TROLL PROBLEM MUZZA......BUT YOU HANDLE THEM WELL
Is the rule still in place properties only can be registered by Indonesian citizens when people buy a property?
Thanks in advance.
No we will be talking about this in a future episode soon
@@MurrayWilkinson1 thanks! Being half Dutch/Indonesian it's interesting to retire in Indonesia, but the property rules was my nogo.
Way too risky.
If you live in Bali (Indonesia) and have a KITAP you can own property using HGB no need to have Indonesian person. Go to a Notary. Don't listen to CZcams vlog
honestly livin in Bali is not cheap anymore since after covid19,if i launch or dinner in shopping center i paid Rp 60.000
Wow $6 for lunch dining out? You think that's expensive?
More expensive now but street.food ia cheap
Hello Murray can I live there on My My social security 1200 a month?
USD?
Yes. Ofcourse.
I can live with just USD400 a month in Indonesia.
Actually the new visa regulations may say you are no longer allowed to stay here unless you are getting $USD 3000/month.. new instructions are a bit vague as yet
@@MurrayWilkinson1
Oh.. OK.
What I mean is that with USD 1200 someone can support themselves to live for a month.
But I didn't know there was a regulation regarding a minimum income limit of US$3000 for foreigners to live in Indonesia.
Thanks for information.
@@Madpett it depends on your visa type and your circumstances
So does a guy actually have to bring in $3000 a month in pensions, or just show a balance of that on each month's statement?
It's a bit sad with all the single use plastic
Very interesting, Thank you MuZZa😎👍
HALO
Do you need an Asian spouse to pull it off, I would imagine so... Did they let you live thee because of improving the abandoned house, that must have figured into it greatly???
Nasi bukas 50 c
wot does bali do with all its soft plastic waste looks horendous in the shops everything in small plastic sachets.
With no storage and humid weather larger containers would not be practical
7:10 looked a bit stinky
swastika ?
The swastika is an ancient Hindu symbol that the Nazi party adopted so yes you see many of them here,
A Balinese-style swastika is a symbol of spirituality, auspiciousness, and cultural heritage.
Are U the mule Muzza
Mule?
I would never visit Bali let alone live there.
Why do you say that?
Everything wrapped in plastic.
