@Razbam USAF is flying some Strike Eagles without CFT for air to air missions, in order to substitute retiring F-15Cs. You could do the same, it would be an awesome selling point for guys that do air to air only.
Great video! Hey I was wondering if you could explain why the radar can’t do the HRM directly in front or why that blank area is there? What causes this? It’s sort of hard to understand why this occurs since this doesn’t seem to be the case in A2A radar modes! Thanks!
Man what a time to be a simmer fack dcs has shaped up rather well over the years still needs work specifically ground ai stuff but love it. Also why not take the similarities in this eagle versus the f-15c version and make it full fledged module.
I wanna know if we should expect the ability to lock up targets farther than other modules with the bigger radar? Compared to F16,F18. Obviously 120C kinematics don't change at the same given airspeed. Also does this anyone know if this plane has IFF?
I relly dont like that bumping in and out to change radar range, is going to eat precious seconds in a complex enviroment Anyways, seems like an exelent work on the radar ! , btw are we getting IFF? Im getting hornet eraly acces flashbacks lool
Huh? What's wrong with cursor bumps? Never heard anyone complain about it. These are also things you would be doing before meld in BVR anyway, you not adjusting there in the middle of the timeline assuming that with a track the scale will be auto adjusted.
Any word on if we're getting intra-flight radar coherence and correlation to, for example, reap the benefits of enhanced angular directivity and increased sensor SNCR, on targets falling within the overdetermined scan volume of all flight members? (I realize that enhanced ECCM would only come if, and when, ED has reworked DCS's EW systems, so I don't expect any benefits there.) Also, does anyone know whether the DCS AN/APG-70 is going to be modeled to simulate the Air-to-Air performance of a 1980's MSIP Eagle? I'm especially nervous about how this massive leap forward will be allowed to be depicted, as simply beaming and chaffing isn't realistically going to do much if you've suddenly found yourself within the no-escape WEZ of an AMRAAM equipped Eagle that has its eye on you. Sadly, I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I'm still holding out hope that the 'notching' meta and game 'balance' don't dominate over physics and signals processing realism yet again.
Razbam and their radar programmer (galinette) are still beholden to Eagle Dynamic's unreliable AIM-120 guidance code, regardless of how well they model the APG-70 radar. I'm afraid that primitive beam and notch tactics are likely to stay in DCS.
@@skippersmg The main functions are different, the TSD is more of a navigational tool with extremely little air to air and datalink integration. That will be the SIT.
Are those SOR (04:35) and SL (09:57) features to be a) simulated in the future in Early Access phase, or b) left out because classified information, or c) not functional in the real one, so not simulated either in DCS? 07:50 Is that frame memory really so different from Hornet? As I thought that Hornet has as well that same memory mode supposely to be per frame, not per second as it is now. So you can go between 2/4/8/16/32 frames in Hornet, and not as in seconds (as one frame can take variable seconds depending azimuth/bars settings? It just makes more sense to have that frame count, but I really recall the Hornet should be same.
So you don't have multiple emitters sending and receiving the same signal type. One radar could receive the reflection of another's which would screw up the whole timing process for ranging and such. This will be the first aircraft in DCS to have it modeled iirc.
@BuLLeT_ZA Unless the other plane has them the F-15E still retains its maneuvering capabilities from the C with a few differences that are more caveats than roadblocks Also the simple solution to this is just not get into a close range fight, it's made for BVR and has the thrust and fuel to hit it tail out if the situation goes bad
Likely not. If he is not willing to get into details it means its classified. The DCS engine probably also does not support it in the same way it uses simplified IFF.
