As a cuber since 2017, it’s so amazing to see the innovation happened in the 3x3 hardware
Quick summary of recent releases: 2017 LunHui, 2017 Zhanchi, XiangYun (all bad), 2018 Zhanchi (great if you add magnets, unusable otherwise), Tengyun v1 (godly unless you got the first batch which had excessively weak magnets), Guhong v3 (pretty nice, nothing amazing), and now the Tengyun v2.

The TengYun actually came out before the GuHong v3, the GuHong was just the more budget DaYan puzzle so they gave it a more simplistic design.
Ah cool, thanks for the correction! Interestingly, the TengYun v2 having the wave pattern still makes sense as an addition to the v1 design with the new Guhong's feature.

Very true haha. I hope to get those other Zanchis to fill in my remaining collection holes. So I may have even more Dayan unboxings in the future.
btw do you know anywhere I can find a standard original plastic zhanchi? Mine broke and I'm trying to look for a new one
The quality of your audio sounds very good! Nice video :)
Thanks! I've been learning some editing tricks to fix it up in post. It's still just my phone audio but I added a noise reducer to get rid of white noise and a gate + compressor to control the peaks. Next time I may mess around with some eq stuff to eliminate certain frequencies. Glad to hear that there's a difference.

the guhong v3 came after the tengyun
nice video, but btw the guhong was not the first cube to have torpedoes. The first cube to have torpedoes was the dayan lunhui.
Ah you're right I did recall that wrong, thanks. Fact still remains that Guhongs are an incredibly important line of cubes and Dayan has a history of innovation like the Lunhui torpedoes.
yep i do agree, the guhong was one of the first(if not the first) "florian modded" cubes

Im curious which cube you are maining? I already ordered a Guhong v3 but still deciding if I should also get the TengYun v2
I've found myself using the tengyun v2 a lot, but my opinion on it has cooled a bit since this unboxing. I most likely will stick with my gts v2.

Dang it’s so weird seeing a tengyun v1 with not that much lube on the exterior of the cube out of the box, probably because they lessen the lube. Also I have a question can u tell when a Dayan cube is old plastic, and could I send you a photo of a Dayan cube I have I’m fairly certain it’s a guhong v1 but I just want confirm that it is. Nice vid and Dayan collection btw
I personally cannot, no, but I'm sure if you post on speedsilving forums someone there will know how to identify the plastic of your cube. I know it has to do with color and feel. Old plastic is milkier in color and smoother in feel.

I love the TengYun v2. I just used the settings Phil likes and like those settings too except I use the strongest magnet setting.
@@peydogcuber I like it out of the box a lot tbh, but I'm more interested to see how the settings affect the cube more than finding the perfect settings.
