    Apparently it is possible to get your money back in this case: www.lttstore.com/pages/statement-on-taxes-in-europe-uk-and-norway
    I've shot them an email. Let's see what they respond with.

      @BoyCcns Před rokem +3

      I've been through that process before. On EU entry you have to pay VAT again which LTT has refunded me after I've given them proof of double taxing. It does take some time though.

    • @ryt-is
      @ryt-is  Před rokem

      @@BoyCcns Hopefully they will refund me and I can make a followup video. Those customs documents are not in English and I'm not sure if the guy from the post didn't mess something up, because if it was VAT it should've been around 55 EUR, but it was 123 EUR (import tax? random extortion tax? idk).

    Update on this: In a recent Wan show they said they might work with a company to keep some stock in the EU, this will cut down on shipping costs but he's not 100% sure if that shop will use the same prices as lttstore... I estimate that once they announce it, the entire stock will be sold out and they'll have to send wayyyy more over.

    I feel you man. I ordered their backpack with a water bottle and a screwdriver in one order. I'm still waiting for it, but I already know I'll be paying around 15€ more for customs processing fee by the post office (after already paying one to the guys who shipped the thing for LTT, as part of the shipping cost on their end - seriously, how tf is this still legal?), and god knows how much more in taxes I'll actually pay once it's ready for pick up.
    Yes, I still don't have it.
    Worst part is, it quite literally might've been cheaper to make three separate orders and pay shipping three times... (GG Europe)

    I live in Germany and ordered a screwdriver and some other things. The package arrived two days ago without any additional costs. Guess I was lucky that the customs handling worked as intended. btw: 30 EUR for customs handling, that's insane. The German Post takes 6 EUR.

    • @ryt-is
      @ryt-is  Před rokem

      Well, it's 30 EUR for the first 4 items, if there are more it's additional 6 EUR per item. When I previously bought LTT deskpads everything went through smoothly without additional costs or fees. As far as understand LTT declares everything correctly for EU imports, it's just that sometimes the system doesn't understand the tariff codes.

    I've ordered many a thing from the EU/UK who's shipping costs more than the value of the item. It is what it is. Now the double tax thing or import fees, that really sucks.

    Nice video was thinking about this, as I think quality would be pretty good from LTT. However, looking at your video does look a bit too big and I also don’t think it’s worth the import duties into Europe. Still might of considered it if they had a European store or had had it sold through Amazon in Europe I.e they could of just sent directly from china to Amazon warehouse and fulfilled by them.

    • @ryt-is
      @ryt-is  Před rokem

      I’m glad the video helped you with the decision. It’s a bulky backpack, but it doesn’t fit much inside due to padding. Just like anything, there’s a right tool for the job. LTT backpack is still my go to choice for carrying electronics and related equipment safely. If I need to bring 4 sixpacks from the store, or go camping - it’s 5.11 backpack all the way. And they’re both the same size from outside.

    I don't see any way to justify purchasing this backpack, even if they refund your double taxation. That they designed this purely for NA air regulations make it practically useless for the EU, because who would want to bring this big a pack on short trips or during commuting?

    Carry on limits differ from US or North America and EU, or the rest of the world.
    This backpack is made for and in line with the requirements for NA users, not European ones. The fact that you did not mention this, is a bit idiotic.
    I like your production level, if you tone down the levels on those annoying music tracks, honestly, it makes your channel sound cheap and it's 101 in terms of what you should avoid on CZcams, you can garner some audience.

    • @ryt-is
      @ryt-is  Před rokem +4

      Thank you for the comment. The carry on limits depend on the airline and I think I’ve mentioned that, and since Europe and NA have different airlines, that means that Europe and NA will automatically have different limits, but I guess I could’ve been more explicit. Of course LTT being a Canadian brand will mostly cater to the NA market / standards, and that is totally fine. In the end it’s not about buying the most cost efficient backpack (because there are many with better ROI), but more about supporting a brand that I love. It just sucks that the government also wants their cut. And yes, from the comments I can see that I will need to tone down the music; on my speakers the mastering level seemed fine, but I guess I should also check how it sounds on many different speakers.
