We use similar cases for chromebooks at our school, as the IT guy who has taken off many of these, be careful when taking it off because its easy to damage the screen. Sometimes you will have to pry it off over time as the plastic ages and warps.
Definitely take the case off and clean it, dust and other particles will scratch up the paint/aluminum on the MacBook if you leave it on too long.

I’ve found that the light scuffs on the front and back polished out quite easily. I also found that dust trapped between the case and the metal was causing quite a lot of the scuffing.

I have been using a case by Baseus on my MacBook pro 2016, its been more than 4 yrs and still is pre strong. Recently got a m1 MacBook pro as a replacement from apple and the case fits, but the new MacBook Pro has a very small difference in measurements, so the case just fits, a bit tighter tbh. I tried looking for Baseus cases, but they stopped making now I think, would give them 5 star.

When I got my first MacBook it was so thin it terrified me to handle it at all so I immediately got a case for it lol. Been using the same Mosiso case for 3 years. The only problem I had with it is that the little feet on the bottom part were apparently glued on and came off but using it without them hasn't made any difference. This case looks like it has a bit more protection than the Mosiso one, and the foldable feet to get it at an angle are interesting... but it also doesn't look as nice and minimal... hmm

I had got a case few years ago for my 2014 MBP 13, the lid case extends to the back and it obstructs the air flow, it got to a point where, the fans would spin still the temps won't go down, I had to remove the case and never used a case since.

Have you had any issues with a case on your MacBook? I have read that some can cause issues with the hinge, making it loose over time. And that dust and dirt can get in the case and scratch the computer. Should I be worried about this or will it be fine to put a case on my MacBook? Instead of a case I might just get a computer bag or sleeve to put the MacBook in while I’m transporting it, and a dbrand skin to protect against scratches. Which would be a batter option?
