The most important thing about Rafa Nadal is not the way he plays, the technique he uses or how he hits the ball, the most important thing about Rafa is his spirit! Because it's something that is much bigger than tennis, it's a message for the people who're struggling and an attitude towards life!
He is an icon of resistance, a true warrior without sword but with racquet that inspires a lot of people in their normal lifes, and that's what matters over the sport and the player, the icon he is, and that goes beyond any borders. He is an international icon of effort and fight.
Proud to have seen you through these years long, and proud to live in your era.
Congratulations to Medvedev too, he made an amazing match, great fight and great tennis for him.

They all very talented, but tennis is a solo sport, mentally you have to be on top every single time or you go down. Medvedev certainly has shown his spirit this year, especially the last few weeks of course, but Thiem definitely shown it at the French open. He just seem more comfortable at clay. Tsitsipas is a bit younger, maybe it will come, he is already top 10 but hasn't shown this strength at the majors. Zverev actually did the opposite, he disappears at the big stages. Based on the last few weeks it's easy to point out Medvedev, I think so too he just seem more mature mentally than the others.

I share the same thought, Daniil right now looks like the toughest competitors for anyone including top 3. His mental strength, it is almost like he doesn’t have any emotion or fear on court, his second serve consistently shows that. Match point or break point, he plays the same...very unusual. I thought Stefanos was tough, but no, this guy will beat him mentally. they are similar age now, Thiem a little older. Daniil and Stefanos will be the next rivalry for 1 and 2. I love Thiem and hope he can come in between and steal the thunder. But it does look tough for him.

I think it's unfair to bundle Thiem with Zverev and Tsitsipas, if Nadal wasn't playing Thiem could have easily had at least two French Open titles, he is pretty strong mentally and he showed that several times on the grand slam matches, but against Nadal on clay on a French Open final there just isn't much you can do.

When the match ended, I couldn't even talk lol, I was so emotionally exhausted, and my body was extremely exhausted as well, the nerve got its toll on my body. I am so proud, and so happy for Rafa, happy beyond words. I've been a fan for the last 15 years, followed tennis because my dad likes tennis and is a fan of Roger's, that brought me to be a hardcore fan as well. That match was, idk, I'm running out of adjectives, but one thing for sure, it's emotionally draining. I'm quite proud of myself that I never once did hoping for Daniil to make double fault or bad unforced errors, even though in the last set I was a bit like, whatever, just whatever as long as Rafa win lol, but I couldn't help but love how the crowd cheered for him as well, that he acknowledged his mistakes and people acknowledged that he's genuine. And Rafa, ahhh, what a lovely human being. Sorry I made an essay in a yt comment section, I'm not even sure the sentences make sense or not haha, I was and still am so emotional.

Absolutely incredible that Rafa has FOUR US Open titles now. To think that many didn't even believe he would ever win one when he was already a household name after that epic 2008 Wimbledon final against RF, shows the tenacity and fire this man has to continue to improve at the very highest level of his sport. Mad respect, and I can honestly say that if anyone deserves to overtake RF in Slams, this guy does (and most likely will)!

I was really nervous for the match but the result made me happy. Rafa is the best but Medvedev is the future of the game....
