15 miles through the Trinity Alps

The Trinity Alps Wilderness covers 517k acres making it the second-largest wilderness in California. The Alps are known for their scenic views/Alpine environments and high altitude lakes.
The trail we took was to Canyon Creek Lakes which at the end of the day was close to 16 miles. There are two lakes that are separated by a small rock border each uniquely tucked into the alps.
Unfortunately, California is going through its worst wildfire season in history and the smoke from a fire 30 miles away was reducing visibility and caused quite a bit of haze as seen in the video. It still cleared up as the day went on with some wind pushing it out.
I would 1000% come here again and most likely camp at the lakes to explore deeper inward. It looks awesome back there.
