    Hi Kyle, nice video. Just a quick tip with the Saywer squee. If your filter is fully dried, before you leave for a trip, always squeeze at least a half liter of tap water through before you leave for any trip and you won't have any issues. I have only made that mistake once and had the same problem as you.

    Thanks for taking us along, great dog! I soak my filter in white vinegar at home and it flows real well afterwards. Also if it's been awhile I'll soak it in tap water at home before the trip to get it flowing better.

    Your dog is beautiful !!! What amazing country ,I can't wait to get up there ( the long drive from the Bay Area keeps me to the Emigrant and Yosemite) but that scenery is stunning !!!

    Nice trip. My dog likes hiking, but not if it is thundering. She got spooked once on the SHT and it has stayed with her ever since.

    Always interesting taking your dog. We took a young dog to the Yukon from Vancouver island many years ago. She hardly ate but buried dog biscuits in every campsite we stayed in! Often think they’re wondering why the heck we don’t stay home where it’s dry and comfortable. Ever wonder yourself?

    it's hard to stay dry tent camping> having an extra tarp or a change of clothes can be the deference between life and death

  • @everyoneknowsadave3580

    Hopefully you didn’t backflush your sawyer with tap water at home … there’s some theories out there that chlorinated / fluorinated tap water can damage the liddl tubes in the filter … because of that I flush mine with jugged distilled water and it’s seems to keep truckin’ … thanks for sharing your adventure with luna … great video 👍👍

      I call it Old Blue. Used to be blue in color prior to a lot of camp smoke. I made it about 6 years ago and it’s still going strong.

    What's wrong with the local running water by your campsite?

    • @BurleyOutdoors
      @BurleyOutdoors  Před 2 lety

      With the number of campsites and animal droppings around the trail that I saw on the way up I was not going to drink the water with out some kind of filtration. Waterborne illness is no fun. Thats what I meant by that comment during the video. If I was really desperate I would have boiled it on the fire but I had enough.

      @@BurleyOutdoors that's good! Here in the Northeast, they are a huge problem! Really limits what you can do outdoors unfortunately.

    Did your Sawyer freeze? Was this shot this past weekend?

    • @BurleyOutdoors
      @BurleyOutdoors  Před 2 lety +1

      It never got that cold on the trip for it to freeze. I must have used it last time and not cleaned it when I got home. I thought the sports cap use the other water bottle as a back flusher would work but it’s no where as good as the sawyer syringe. Yes it was this past weekend

    • @justwalking1167
      @justwalking1167 Před 2 lety +1

      @@BurleyOutdoorsthought so. Weather pattern looked familiar to what I saw in Desolation this weekend. I froze a Sawyer once and moved to the Be Free and have never looked back. Glad to see you getting out with the dog. She seems to be a good trail dog. Not freaking out and running ahead. Keep em coming.
