Medvedev: c'mon you little kid, show em how to fight !
🤣
Would have loved to see Meddy's reaction after that!
When was that? Ive missed that one
Beautifully played gameTsitsipas.
Kyrgios is relying purely on his "talent" alone as of right now in his career.. Looks at the other players that he was with, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Berrettini, Rublev. They're all in such great environment where they're constantly challenging against better players and putting in the grind.. Nick is just slowly becoming a more talented Tomic in the end with an ego to match it. Kudos and bye.
Lazy being and lazy mentality that's what some talented people have.
His talent is overrated. He's not good enough to be Top 10.
I’m a little sad to realize I agree with everything you said. Kyrgios is clearly afflicted by some demon that is not as interested in torturing other talented tennis players. Part of me wishes we will see his full potential.
No talented!!!
I don’t agree with your way of thinking. What makes you believe that Kygrios wants to be the best, to harness his talent to become the number 1? Kygrios doesn’t want that. He wants to enjoy life, playing crazy shots, electrifying the crowd and saying things he wants to say. He is an artist Kygrios, and his career is successful in his own way.
Good play from World number 95
A performance like this is why I'm still a fan of Stef, for all the shit he gets about the bathroom breaks 😂 he actually trusted his slice backhand more in this match, which is what I've been waiting for
Not b-breaks so much but the constant coaching from papa😛
... are you talking about CHEATSIPAS??? 🤣🤣🤣🎾🎾🎾
they're gonna change the rule.. so that's something, let's stop the conv about toilet breaks
The slice backhand is not what gave him the match. Facing a fat and out of form Kyrgios gave him the match.
Pretty blatant racquet tap at 2:10 to try to put Kyrgios off. No way that one was for balance. And he’s been guilty of that in the past. He’s a good player, and I like his style of tennis. But he uses more gamesmanship than any other player on your.
Kyrgios can’t compete with the best anymore... his slacking off with training and physical conditioning is showing
Yup. Unlike the rest who can maintain their fitness until around 30 through rigourous training, Kyrgios, likely from a lack of rigour in training, is showing real signs of aging. His shots just don't have that 'pop' he used to have when he was younger anymore.
Anymore? He never could compete with the best.
@@mbucd you got that right
@@mbucd not like he beat Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer at the first time of trying...
@@mbucd he gave prime Federer a tough fight in 2017 Miami. Not to mention he beat Federer the 1st time he played him.
I don't know if Kyrgios is good for team World. They get him in because he loves Laver Cup and he can play good, but he loses most matches..
This will definetly be his last laver cup he hinted at it in the press conference tiafoe is much more deserving
true. he was good in like 2017 and 2018 but he has just declined too much. hopefully del potro or nishikori can play for team world. then they can finally have a chance.
But without him, there is no team world but team America.
@@poisson12376 Schwartzman, Harris?
Thank goodness.
Way to go Stefanos!!! Way to rise! Great sportsmanship from Kyrgios. Both can be proud of how they handled this moment, restoring good vibes in tennis.
team europe is so much stronger than team world, everyone knows who will win the tournament again.
Singles? Yes. Doubles??? There’s still a chance.
Upset? %20
@@joemiguel5202 yeah team world is better with doubles. Sock, Kyrgios and Isner! But there are only 3 doubles matches compared to 9 singles so it’s not enough if they can’t at least get close in singles.
That Concept is crap. They should all play against eachother
And it's sooo easily fixed. Just balance out Russia into world, that country is already mostly in Asia and pretty alien to Europe.
@@GeneralArmorus Their culture is European, they identify as European and more than 80 % live in Europe. Removing them is blunt racism against them, especially when they don't want to get removed. What they should do is put a limit on the amount of top 10 players you can get. And also give up on Kyrgios. I like him but way better choices Jesus. Diego Felix and Isner lost for a small margin. Kyrgios gets destroyed on singles or gets carried by isner on doubles.
I don't even understand why Kyrgios is in the world team given his lack of matches this year and his bad ATP ranking.
"I don't understand greed"
The team captain gets to select three players of his choice. McEnroe chose Nick. (And the lowly ranked Jack Sock as an alternate team member.)
He's still a beast, and his name gets people interested. He makes em alot of money
He's there simply to try and get publicity for the tournament because he's a showboater. Like sock. Hard to see what McEnroe and Borg are doing there too, except as a kind of decoration
This is how much difference in level of tennis happens when someone works hard with talent and shot-making skills, and another person with similar qualities except do not work hard.
Kyrgios spends 90 minutes getting his ass kicked, then hits one good drop shot and does the hot dog shimmy. 10 minutes later he walks off, a loser. That sums up his career over the past two years.
His career overall.
And then he’ll post the highlights on his Instagram with a caption saying “Trust the process 🙏🏽”
Very well said.
It’s really a shame
All you ppl couldnt have said it any better, hes becoming more of an all-talk no action type guy by the second and hitting tweeners gets old fast plus wont save his failing career
Now someone needs show a clip of zverev congratulating tsitsipas
Kyrgios has such a great talent, but yea he plays two events a year; the Laver Cup and Wimbledon, its a bit sad.
It's wonderful.
well we happy for him tho
didnt he play AO and ATPcup?
When a pro practices like once every week it is amazing how his level can drop so much.
"Kyrgios coming to the party" The Tsitsipas party
Unfortunate for Kyrgios…made too many errors on inportant points but good match from Tsitsipas
unfortunately for him he was not a tennis player this year.... easy pickings for someone at his near peak
Actually I disagree, Kyrgios is fortunate people still remember him.
When is the last time he won a match and produced consistent wins to warrant his place in this lineup with other devoted professional tennis players?
Out of shape. Didn't even sweat that much. Tsitsipas should have dropshot him a lot more to test him out...
Lloyd Harris would have put up more of a fight - not sure why McEnroe keeps picking Kyrgios
Harris is there as a sparring partner, not as an alternate
Nick is actually really gifted than most of the NextGen stars or even the players at Boston. Dude really let himself go with all that Call Of Duty.
Tsitsipas is ready for Slam 🏆👌🏻
Kyrgios needs to hit a fucking flat forehand. He did it earlier in his career, but the more I've watched his matches, the more he seems to settle for the loopy moonball shit. Maybe it's because of bad footwork/movement. Idk but it isn't penetrating the court like it did in 2015-2017
Yes exactly, more dominant playing style needed to fix his game
Exactly what I was thinking too. Like what the fuck happened to his groundstrokes. He's literally gotten so fat and lazy he's forgotten how to move on the court and hit.
You're right, he started trying to copy Nadal but it made his forehand way worse. This is why he needs a coach, he's making dumb decisions to change things that don't need changing and isn't changing what he needs to do - work ethic & fitness.
He probably spend too much time practicing under arm serve 😹 and clubbing.
His shots just lack depth now. So many shots in this highlight would've been winners a few years back :(
hope Tsitsipas can still enjoy that weekend
Tsitsipas won in just 2 sets no tiebreak, wow. Looking positive for Team Europe...yet again 😆
so unfair, team europe is so op
@@oldmanold7863 unfair ?? If someone is just better is unfair
@@user-qu7ke8oj5q yes it is unfair. Obviously Europe will always be better and always win against the world. They should just divide all the players randomly into 2 teams
@@mike_404 wtf hahahaha how this gonna happen europe os just better and how os gonna be 2-3 countries against the whole world hahaha
@@user-qu7ke8oj5q I can just imagine your weird Russian laugh right now? What’s to funny? Go crawl in a hole
It's just heartbreaking to see that amount of talent and pristine touch go to waste on kyrgios... The sheer instinctual approach he has just isn't enough against more physically prepared opponents... I can only imagine a parallel universe in which he yielded all the raw capabilities he has in his sleeve; he could've been top 3 with just a little more effort and mental resilience
Heartbreaking? They hit a ball over a net for a living. Relax. It's his decision to not make as much money as he possibly can, who cares.
What makes you think he wants to to do hard work and to go be the best ? Kygrios doesn’t want that, he wants to entertain firstly, before competing. And there is nothing wrong with that.
@@HS-ie8tj of course it's not heartbreaking in the literal sense; and not everything is about the money, especially in sports and especially from the point of view of a fan. It's more about the legacy, the history, the accomplishments, the expression of high level of performance.
Now, of course that's not what kyrgios (or tomic, monfils and many others) is about: he knows what's best for him and he seems happy with it, so it's all good. I'm just talking from my own egotistical viewpoint of a tennis watcher that cares about a good story and entertaining, skillful play, both of which kyrgios has shown plenty, and I'm just sad that we didn't get to see much more of.
@@piecoro96 he had couple of chances to break Tsitisipas in the second set Kygrios, just quite didn’t show up when it mattered
He's not the first case of wasted talent and won't be the last. Many sports are filled with extraordinary people who don't live up to the expectation placed on them by their respective communities due to lack of dedication, professionalism or simply because they prefer to spend their time enjoying their money and fame.
Looks like Kyrgios has added more spin on his forehand. Also, his serve was completely down in this match. Congrats to Tsitsipas!
He's added more around his waistline than he's added to his spin.
@@MikeAG333 Too much time playing videogames instead of training
Love watching these 2!
Way to go Tsitsipas!
What a colour combinations of the player and the court in the background!!!
LEGENDARY
Kyrgios is a wasted talent. He's just good for highlights but has a weak mentality and cant handle the pressure when he's pushed against the wall. He quits immediately after starting to lose the game.
I remembered a few years ago when he's supposed to be an upcoming superstar but right now he cant beat these young guys
One of the weakest sports players mentally I've ever seen hopefully he retires in the next year and tiafoe is drafted in next year he's much more deserving
He doesn't really quit, he's just not that good. Most of the part of getting good is done in preparation and training before the match even begins, and Nick doesn't put in the work. Stefanos outplayed him simple as that.
@@drdickenbalz He needs some sort of motivation, to play well, I don't know what, but it seems it's just too routine, something he's not really enjoying, or feeling the passion for, only if something big was on the line, he'd put 100% effort and seriousness, into every shot.
@@drdickenbalz u dont know shit
I mean, if you've followed him for a while it's easy to tell tennis was never really a passion for him, unlike basketball. And a few times now he's said that he's satisfied with his career because he was able to beat the top guys, even though he himself could've become a top player if he put in the work. As much as we would've all liked to see him win slams and become a star, there's a reason why he tanked so much even early in his career
I didn't realize how tall stefanos is until they shook hands
That court looks sensational
Nik came to a party apparently. While Stef came to battle.
One thing is clear: with or without the big three Europe is currently well above world players. In fact, a new ‘ big three’ group is emerging, Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Zverev
Finally, someone is giving Tsitsipas the recognition he deserves. I feel like a lot of people just right him off because they disagree with how he plays.
"big 3" that have only one GS in 3 , gi to look numbers of GS of real Bigs in same egdes in Drobny generation ,in Newcombe Laver generation in Năstase Conors Ashe generation Borg Vilas Mc Enroe , Lendl Wilander Becker , Sampras Agassi Chiang or Stich , Kafelnikov Kuerten Hewett trio ,Corejea Federer Safin , Nadal Djokovic Marrey generation, ithen Del Potro Wawrinka Cilic trio haved 5 GS from 2009 to 2016 .
All this players have minimum one GS prior to have 23 years .Zverev 0 absolut Titipas 0 absolut
@@adrianciobanu5856 Well, each case is different. These seem to be the best at the moment, and they still have many years ahead of them. There are some dangerous floaters, Rublev, Hurcakz, one or two more
How about Thiem?
I love these colour courts
A slow court is all Tsitsipas needs to succeed. His backhand is suddenly no problem at all, his return of serve works, he can even hit passing shots, he suddenly has time for everything. This is a perfect surface for his game. The key for his future will be finding a way to play like this on quicker courts, too.
"Kyrios coming to the party!" But there was no beer, so he left.
ΜΠΡΑΒΟ ΣΤΕΦΑΝΕ !!!! 💕💪👏👏👏
ΜΠΡΑΒΟ ΝΙΚ !!!! 💕💪👏👏👏👏
Kyrgios is easily one of if not the most talented players on the tour. This time two years ago he was winning comfortably against tsitsipas and zverev and winning in style. Such a shame he doesn’t put the work in as he has the potential to win a couple of slams if he put his mind to it
So good!!
Kyrgios: "I just needed money for me and my GF"... 🤷♂️
Nick sounding like Felix with the grunting...
2 Greeks amazing 🇬🇷
commentators are funny as hell.." kyrgios coming to the party..." LOL ....party had finished long before Nick had even got there....comics all around
Talent, hard work and attitude makes you a Top 10 player. Kyrgios got 1 outta 3.
Nice match!!
Молодец, Степан!
Well done i hope the players had fun.
I do however miss the competitiveness and passion of the Davis Cup.
Not a fan of the Laver and ATP Cup in Australia. Both weeks would be great for Davis cup
Such a slow play in motion.
Vamos!!! 🙊🥰
Europe team really top, must to win..
I want to see a competitive team world
This guy built his carrer on "I am talented, I don't need a coach". I am so happy to see him getting his lesson from those who worked their way to success. And still I don't like stephanos.
Who cares what you like tho
👌
Two Greek guys! Thats nice! 🇬🇷
Is he the only one hand backhand man? Massive respect if he is
Too Tsitsipas for Kyrgios today.
Kyrgios should not even be here, his ranks is so far behind.
He is a big draw.
@@denisdaly1708 They "think" he's a big draw. People have been tired of him. Maybe the draw is like watching a train wreck and people can't look away.
I swear I'm a Kyrgios fan but day by day he is becoming more of a clown... He is wasting his talent...
It's just sad at this point
@@honzazapletal9662 yes actually...
You are so weak, I can definitely see him improving bruh
@@user-zf3ue4nr5g how did I get weak if he's improving?🙄
He has always been a clown. And EVERY professional tennis player has talent.
Vive la GRANDE GRÈCE !!,! Le plus beau pays du Monde !!!
great .....
Court is grey , - I liked it .
The only time i cheered for tsitsipas
ground looks so slow. Even slower than clay. Good for tsitsi
Tsitsipas left so much uncovered field for Kyrgios and he still cannot score. Mind boggling!
Why is Nick even here? Does he deserve his position here? A lot of players rank above him outside Europe
Coaches picks. He’s supposed to be that X factor but he’s slipping sadly
ναι ρε στεφανε !!! ναι!!!!!
Even laver cup couldn't save nick
Didnt watch so much of Tsitsipas...but thats the right match to see how good he is😁 or its shows better how much Kyrgios behind? He is definitely missing most of his fitness hours
Bjorn Borg works really hard at these events!
Kyrgios should call it a day
The TV angle is terrible and makes the court dimensions seem inaccurate
When nick kyrgios is in a team he is well behave
Team Europe traveled all the way to Boston only to discover that the courts were set up perfectly for them.
i want to see tsitsipas and medvedev playing doubles
I want to see tsitsipas against medvedev...
@@user-zf3ue4nr5g Can't happen, they're on the same team! And given Medvedev just won the U.S. Open, I'd say it's pretty safe to say, Medvedev would smoke him easily!
Team Europe just too good
'Kyrgios going to the party.'
Power vs Mind !!
is the court really slow or can Nick no longer hit through
You can't give Tsitsipas any open window.
Man.. nick looks heavy even doing the split steps.. that’s sad to see
They had applied some stranger camera effect, it seems that the ball is so slow, even knowing that locally it is going very fast, look at 1:14 on Tsitsipas point, the ball seems so slow 🤔
EUROPA DOMINA IL MONDO!
And most intertaining as always to read comments😂thanks to all!
Dam that court looks slow.
Someone who applies himself to the game these days would be more deserving sadly , no point including a lazy Gumby who plays bugger all tennis really , he’s just not good enough atm … and I’m a fan of his as a rule :-(
Guess the promoters figured his lack of dedication is marketable?
Its good match, but you can see nick was getting frustrated as the game moved into the second set, he tried his best though
There should be 100,000 people there. Fuckng awesome
As always Kyrgios is only a showman with no results
Nick kyrgios always wanted to be the showman. He was never interested in winning Grandslams or any major ATP event. He did have the talent, the game, the shots. But, no focus or drive.
Most talented player Kyrgios showing his talent once again 🤣
Kyrgios is completely changed, me seeing his games I don’t know who is the guy is playing with red shirt.
So sad
Flashy vs disciplined
Looks like a Sin City tennis match.
Fun fact all the players from team europe are top ten players
👍🏻👏👏
We all know Nick can do better than this, he is just not good enough for those guys at the moment. I hope he would rise again, he has the potential be the top guys, I like his game on court.
Kyrgios forehand & backhand need an upgrade... Zero penetration & technical problems too in my opinion.
When will team world win the laver cup? They should have this tournament when America was dominating the ATP with Pete Sampras & Agassi!
Kygs needs to flatten out his forehand more when attacking short balls. E.g. that approach shot at match point was super poor.
looks like a horribly slow indoor court, I really do not understand why they do not make the courts faster.
