I want a .22 "walk-about" gun for pesting and this is absolutely at the top of the list. It's actually the very first FX I've ever wanted. I know they're good but the better ones are all plumbing and fiddling about, which is fine if you enjoy all that tuning stuff, but I just want something to shoot bunnies and this looks perfect. Which I believe is what FX were trying to do.
Another very thorough review Richard, always a pleasure. Thanks for taking the time.

Another excellent review as always Richard. This DRS looks very appealing indeed. Initially that mag might seem a little fiddly but am sure with use and familiarity it wouldn’t be an issue. Good to see a .22 being reviewed too 😁

Great review mate 👍I liked the DRX immediately when it came out. In my opinion the best FX for active hunting use. Indeed nothing new because Artemis came out with the M30 five years ago, but is not comparable with the FX of coarse. The DRS is light weight, not to loaded with a lot of tralala, full size stock for fee hand shooting and i think the soft touch finish give enough grip in wet conditions. The air cylinder will absolutely make the barrel more stable, but that mag will be way to much trouble for me to load in the field. Best would be to buy one or two extra mags and have them loaded with you. Probably it comes already with an extra mag. Cheers!

Great review Richard, Mrs has one in . 177, damn accurate it is anawl, I put a smidgen of grease on the probe and left it in, and put a, snazzy foster cap on it from best fittings.. It won't drop out, indeed when you pull the cap off to charge it up, it doesn't pull the probe out.. Looks cool anawl.. Mrs loves it

Great vid as usual Rich, thank you.
Folks on CZcams are already recommending alternative magazines as I’m sure you’re aware, I think FX could really up their game there.
I’m still looking forward to an Alpha Militaria cap when you guys get around to it.

  • @grahamedwards9920

Great review as usual Richard. These days I’m only really interested in bullpup/take down/ folding stock options because of their sheer portability but I can make an exception for this one. I was shown one recently in my local gun shop and it handled beautifully and even with its conventional lines it actually weighed less than the high end - light as a feather - Bullpup I was supposed to be checking out. Shame that FX won’t change the design of the their magazines to one that’s simpler and doesn’t hang out of the side of the gun and while they’re at it why don’t all manufacturers just drop probes in favour of foster fittings. In spite of these little irritations (for me anyway) - I’m totally sold on the sheer simplicity, handing and portability of this little gun and for £750 it’s a no brainer. Thanks for the review Richard, it’s nice to know there isn’t some hidden flaw with the gun but I suppose when a manufacture like FX decide to keep it simple they’re going to get it right first time around.

That magazine does look a bit of a faff, especially when compared to the Air Arms one.
I’m not sure it’s that well suited to a top up in the field, but you can’t fault the accuracy, though the Hades performs just as well in many rifles, especially in .22. Great review👍🏻👍🏻

Looks like a really nice rifle, but I lost interest when I saw the faffing about with the magazine. Simple is best for me. So I think I'll be sticking with the ever faithful HW100. A pity they couldn't come up with a simolar style of mag for FX rifles ?.
