    Please mention that it is recommended to wear gloves when dealing with brake fluid and brake dust. They are noxious things.

    Why do you have to align the banjo bolt when you install it? The banjo bolt does not have to be in any direction and should just be tighten to spec. The brake lines are designed to fit the banjo in any orientation with the bolt properly sealed with the two crush rings. Am I missing something? Of all the brakes lines I have done, cars and motorcycles, I have never had to do this. Thanks in advance.

      Came here to say the same thing. There's a reason the line is a circle around the banjo. The most important thing is the copper washers. Especially on a double banjo on a bike. 🤙

    Pro tip for cleaning up brake fluid - have a spray bottle handy with plain water. The water dissolves and stops the brake fluid from ruining paint of the finish on your calipers. We always spray everything down after bleeding brakes or replacing lines at the shop.

    What kind of air tool is that and what kind of hose are you using to bleed the brakes

    • @FTspeed
      @FTspeed  Před 7 lety +1

      No air tools were used in the video, only a cordless ratchet and hand tools. As for the hose, it was just a random hose that we had laying around.

    was this application only for the front only or front and rear? and what would be the difference of going either direction?

    • @FTspeed
      @FTspeed  Před 7 lety +1

      Front and rear. We didn't show the rear because the process is very similar to the front. If you did these upgrades to just the front, there would be too much braking bias in the front causing the front wheels to lock up a lot under hard braking.

    Do you have to change the brake fluid if your just changing the rotors and pads?

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 3 lety +1

      Compressing the pistons on the calipers will cause air to be pushed into the brake lines, and it is therefore recommended to bleed or reverse bleed the lines to remove trapped air or else you might have spongy brake feeling.

      I think you are referring to "torquing" it down to 19 ft/lbs. It means tightening the bolt/nut/screw to a certain tightness specification.
