Chill Out Edit - 1000 Hours in 12 Minutes, by Clickspring - Hudba
Rumour has it that Switzerland put a price on his head.
Almost wet myself. Best comment ever!
You mean Japan?
CZcams Smart same difference
@@klownskull702 Japan specialises in Quartz movement clocks. For mechanical clocks you need to look for them in Switzerland.
@@kurumi394 thank you I didn't know the difference. I just know they make watches.
I love how after ALL that, the lingering shot on the finished piece is about 10 seconds. All about the process.
I wish that more people could understand and appreciate the sheer quantity and quality of effort, practice, and concentration that went into making all of this.
Thank you Drew, very kind of you :)
Not many people can say they accomplished something so beautiful and technical with so much dedication and skill.
Best channel on CZcams, your video quality is just outstanding
Agreed!
matlarr13579 totally agree. every time a video has been posted I've stopped doing what I'm doing to watch it. can't wait for the next project he does
Without a doubt. Video production quality and craftsmanship -- both head & shoulders above all others.
Pixel Schnitzel couldn't agree more. Everything from the camera work, editing and voice over to the total incredible, master, craftsmanship has been an absolute joy
I second that, The video, sound and voice over quality is superb! You should to make at least one video on how to make videos!
CZcams awards of the most beautiful creation, winner: ClickSpring!
So impressive! maybe I'm going to need to talk you into machining some parts for me.
No, he's not going to make a clock out of Sodium for you Cody.
Hey Cody
A clock out of sodium? lol...
didnt expect to see you here cody, i will be looking for your latest video
how about a Sodium diving watch...?
You could do a 12 minute video of that clock just running with the camera slowly moving around it and you'd get 100k viewers...
Well time to watch this entire series again.
Well then... The best series on CZcams has come to an end, can't wait for the next one
Masocisa7538 The antyhtera is kinda boring.
Sorry to all others machinists in youtube, but this project is the most beautiful thing made in a lathe/mill I ever see... Keep those videos coming... and thanks to show us this project... Regards from Portugal
Well, where to start...
I found your channel after seeing the Card Press you made. After binge watching 'The Antikythera Mechanism', I followed with this Clock build playlist.
I was blown away at every stage. Your skill, knowledge and talent are breath-taking. Every single component you've made here is a true work of art in its own right... you must be so proud.
On top of that, the presentation style, editing and sound effects do so enhance the production.
- Thank you for sharing and may you continue to produce such masterpieces.
Sooo our entire family sat and watched that while sipping tea. Our next challenge: set up a live feed of the clock against a nice background.
Also, my mum wants to know what your kitchen is like! She thinks your knives will be immaculately sharpened and everything neatly laid out.
we need a 1 hour long video of it running
I was thinking exactly that.
Leonardo Celente 12 hours, so we can put it on an indefinite loop. I would set up a dedicated tablet to show it 24 hours a day in my home. Closest I'll ever get to owning a bit of craftsmanship this incredible. :)
Leonardo Celente donate sone money before you think u call the shots
MegaMetinMetin He didn't say he called the shots. Nothing even remotely like that. Get a grip.
Yeah I really want to see it running for more than a few seconds.
Quite possibly one of the most beautiful things I ever set eyes on. Stunning.
I cried a little bit after watching this...in awe of the craftsmanship, the dedication, the math and engineering...its like...well...a mini version of God to me - an aspiration to be the best at what you were put on this earth to achieve. I can't wait to watch more. Keep up the amazing work!
Terrific to have your support David, some new material out soon :)
Fantastic remarks. Totally agree
You should do a close up video on how exactly the clock works. I feel like we haven't been able to enjoy the finished project enough
Your finished parts look so flawless that they look like 3D renders!
Oh mate, your shop is cleaner than a hospital theatre!
Totally in awe of your craftsmanship and the end result is spectacular.
One of the very best channels on CZcams, Thank you so much.
Cheers Greg, terrific to have you watching mate :)
I find it amazing that your videography and editing style has been not only good but so consistent over the entire project. Most other youtubers I see "evolve" over the years, but the first and last videos of this project truly look like they belong to the same series.
I enjoyed every minute of the build Chris. Thanks again for sharing it with us in the way that you did.
The level of craftsmanship here has literally left me speechless; it is far and above what I thought was possible.
your work is absolutely tremendous and a joy to watch. Not only does your craftsmanship and research go above and beyond but your skill to film and document to make the process look effortless is truly amazing
Like clock work.
A chronological masterpiece.
Revisiting this (again) after the card press video. Fantastic and mesmerizing. Lovely work, Chris.
me too! awesome stuff.
Chris, I'm going to echo some of my previous statements as well as other commenters. Your craftsmanship is only equaled by the exceptional production value of your videos. You are talented in so many facets it boggles the mind. Your channel is far and away the MOST polished on CZcams. I wish I was someone with Hollywood clout to give you a DIY style show of your own. That would be bittersweet however, as they would likely ruin it. I guess the best compliment I can give (and you're deserving of so many) is that your videos are a comfort to me in an otherwise temultous world.
A very sincere thank you from your pal in Colorado.
Jason
Yes. Well stated. In a world of instability, this work is a comfort. Chris is impressive. Thank you Chris.
Just watched the whole series in one sitting. Really fascinating. Thank you!
I'm no appraiser but with the amount of work and attention to detail on top of hand making every piece id say that beauty is worth at a minimum 20,000$. This work is on par with the works of master clock and watch makers around the world and could easily get showcased at baselworld with the other non-watch pieces in the art section.
This just got re-recommended to me after 5 years, wowee the nostalgia is strong on this. I remember watching each of the "how to make a clock" videos, patiently waiting for the next. Even after so long, I am still just blown away at the sheer level of craftsmanship and care that was put into this clock. It is so well made, with such high precision and... It's just brilliant in every way. Just to think that (excluding the material/consumable costs), the price for this clock if calculated with minimum wage here in Ireland would be close to *€11,000,* since it's entirely hand made. I hope you still have this clock, because this is something that should be cherished and passed down as a family heirloom.
I was just referred here from Adam Savage. Your quality of work, attention to detail, and level of precision is truly remarkable! I cant believe how awesome that was. Everything down to the smallest detail was perfectly made, and meticulously assembled. Unreal! I bet you'd make one sweet 1911!
Oh that is so amazing to watch every beautiful piece get crafted. If I was not so afraid of wasting materiel, I would do stuff like that too.
Every once and a while I just sit back and watch this video. I can relax while mesmerized by all that gleaming brass and blued steel. But also the planning, the technique, the clarity of purpose - no stoke out of place, each tool exactly what is required for the task - even if it has to be made, and each tool in perfect order - each file clean and keen.
And at the end, a beautiful example of workmanship in a wonderfully clean workshop.
The only problem, it is Chris in the video and not me. 😀
No clue how I ended up on this video. But
DAM...
I'm hooked
Chris, as usual, the art of perfection, both in technique and in making the films
I dont even give a fuck about clocks are this kind of craftsmanship but my god was it satisfying to watch and i enjoyed every second
It's been very entertaining to see the extreme amount of handwork involved in the creation of your unique and beautiful creation. After the amount of time that was devoted to this project, all I can say is - thank goodness you didn't decide to mine and smelt the copper and zinc ores to make the brass in the first place. ;)
Your video quality is as brilliant as your craftmanship.
Don't know how you'll top this, Chris, but I'll sure be sticking around to find out!
Bravo, Clickspring!
Love it - there's nothing quite like quality workmanship and taking pride in.a job well done. Something I see less and less of as companies ship their manufacturing out to China and Taiwan, and all we get for it is cheap throw-away junk, and fewer jobs.
Damn. I hope you sold that for $75k. Absolutely stunning.
1:56 - the most satisfying second of video on all of youtube.
I wish my eyes were as good as your camera
I've been following the entire series. You deserve an award for filmmaking, truly.
The quality of craftsmanship is obvious in this amazing production. The clock is a work of art that I watched the 3 seconds or so you show it working for about ten minutes. Beautiful creation!
Anyone else up for a ten hour video of the clock ticking? I mean, just the clock and nothing else running for ten hours. Beautiful work, really.
CAN YOU NOT dude. Making the rest of us plebeians look like fumbling toddlers in the shop.
but why NOT dean
Thanks for this video. You know, my wife knits. She knits amazing things. People keep telling her to knit for profit. They just don’t get it. She would have to charge $1000 a sweater just to make minimum wage.
This clock is amazing, I would love to build one. Would be so cool if you could support yourself making these beautiful creations but I just don’t think it is possible in this day and age.
Again, waiting for a video going through the tools you have.
I've never seen anything handmade as beautiful as that. Thank you.
Man, this is a really wonderful selection of great things - relaxing music, thoughtful camera work and astonishing machining. You really are a renaissance man! I've watched every episode with absolute awe, and enormous respect. You are, without doubt, the most thorough, thoughtful and practical creator I've seen in a long time. And to top it off, you seem like such a humble guy! Hands down the best Content Creator on CZcams, in my opinion. If I had to look back at 2016, following along on this journey with you has been one of the most rewarding and memorable aspects of the year. Huge props, seriously. Thank you.
Hey Chris, Another awesome video. Sometimes when i looked them, the parts were really zoomed in and they looked huge, but then you showed them in your hand or in other place, and realized how minimal they actually are. More than craftsmanship this is really art. Love your job, this kind on thing inspires me to do a better job as a fabricator every day, and makes me want to learn something new whenever i can.
Keep the good work coming greetings from Venezuela!
Your craftsmanship is phenomenal.
It is difficult for me to believe that you could find the clients who could afford to pay what would be required for you to continue this meticulous work and be paid what it's value is.
You are an extraordinary human being, sir.
Perfect. First thing of yours I have seen. So many "secrets" in just 12 minutes! The BEST part is this is an index to the project videos!!!
I can't get enough of this project. I think the only way I'd close to satisfied is if you live streamed it running forever.
A work of art video about the making of a work of art. Amazing.
I followed every episode of this clock making. Really touched about the dedication and the professions.
the desire for a 12 hour video of the clock running is still strong after 3 years.
papers please
There's only one word that can describe the feeling of watching your videos, and that's 'Euphoria'.
Deeply impressive craftsmanship....
Pure artistry with metal.
I've watched all the process of making this clock, and I was astonished by how much work you've put into making this masterpiece! Thank you for creating this beautiful piece of art, I hope that you will bring us more of what you do! Wish you all the best, your new fan!
Great to have you watching mate :)
The level of Awesomeness of this project can not be overstated! Thanks Chris, looking forward to the next project.
The dedication and quality of workmanship on display here is matched only by the professional quality video production.
Thx
The thing I like most about you is how everything you make is not just functional, but it is also beautiful.
A work of Art, Chris. Thanks.
Wow
just wow
that was amazing
LazerLord10 Hey saw those awsome minecraft time lapses you did it was really cool and I just looked at your chanel. Gonna have to check out some of your other vids
lol, cool. Not too much new, thought.
Incredible craftsmanship.
I know it's none of my business but ID really like to know what inspires this man. Because he inspires me 🇦🇺👏
I don't knw where from you are but I must confess as you are a legend in the field of metal craftsmanship and engineering . A big salute from India.
I can't believe I have watched this being created for the past year or so.
sad to see it end.
now I am anxious to see SV Seekers boat be completed.
if I ever have enough money I will build a workshop to build my own clock, just because of you.
thank you sir
Your attention to the miniscule of details just won the Internet.
Bravo sir.
Your clock building series is by far one of my favorite series on youtube. I'm looking forward to your next project! :D
Wow, a King of mechanical construction...
I lay on the knees on the floor.
Wow, what a potential...
The pleasure I get from watching this must be tenfold in the pleasure you get from making the machine. I like to build cars. I really enjoy the task of making parts for my car that nobody else has done. I don't make videos . Thank you for this. It is very enjoyable and it also "resets" my mind to see such perfection in your work. Thank you.
You sir are aren't just a machinist or a clock maker, you are an Artist.
Amazing beautiful. This is true excellence.
I'm 22 years old in Vietnam, I'm also studying mechanics and love making, I love the way watches work and the way you make them, great, if you were in my country, maybe mechanical engineering specialist,
cọng cỏ you are studying love making?.......I suppose we all are, really, aren’t we.
Im not even interested in clocks, but I watched this whole series from start to finish because I love seeing people create things, your attention to detail and persistence for perfection is something to be proud of, can't wait to see what you build next.
Just something I knocked up over a rainy weekend!
True craftsmanship! I now understand why that clock would cost many thousands of $. Work of art!
Perfect. I always relax before bed with your videos, you made it a bit easier for me :)
The best part of this is the bit that goes from just before the start through to the bit when it stops.
I am just perplexed: what a person is behind such brilliant video quality and these skills of beautiful craftmanship. The perfectionist's ultimate form.
patient, meticulous, precise... love of precision mechanics... and the result is a pure wonder
who is so soul-less to thumb this down - please leave my planet - you're stealing precious oxygen
New comer to your channel have watched a few of your videos and I have to say your skill is just art to watch, your very talented and just a desire to watch. I have to say when you blue the brass the way it just turns to that sort of mid night blue is just incredible ! top marks mate. 👍🏻
Great to have you watching Rhys :)
The blue is better than midnight IMO it's bloody beautiful, I can't describe it and he is great to watch. I have to admit that is the very first time I have ever said that about another man... LMAO, I watch him (creep factor 9 out of 10 if I'm honest lol)
Clickspring How much would this project sell for?
Great way to end the terrific build Chris 👍🏼
Chris. The clock came out beautifully. The dedication to the level of craftsmanship you put into this clock is stunning. Hope people get motivated by your work to keep the attention to detail alive in the generations to come.
I don't impress easily but this is mind blowing!
Just subscribed. Fantastic work and I see you're in Au.
Keep it going.
Cheers Mark, appreciate the sub.
I've seen your videos a few times, but it was usually just somewhat simple things, like the firestarter or the etching needle thing.
this is incredible work! Seriously, the craftsmanship alone is amazing, but add to that the fact that your not a regular clockmaker, meaning you had to do everything by had is just astounding.
Wahhh there is no match of your 1000 hours , what a jewel you have made , millions thumbs up .
What a beauty. Absolutely invaluable.
3,990 likes and 9 dislikes. That's the best I've ever seen on a CZcams video. Awesome video Clickspring! Can't wait to see what's coming next!
Perhaps the 9 dislikers should move to another planet.
Whatever you make next needs to have 10 times the number of part, at least... I don't want it to end so quickly :o
Ry P lmao
Two years flew by like it was nothing
Like the background music...sounds like 'Sublime' without words. Reminded be of high school summer breaks from back in the day 😎🤘🏻
Clickspring hands down has the best videos on youtube..
This vid cures cancer.
Don't make jokes about that - nearly dying sucks
however this is a top notch clock, video and series and I cant wait to see what's next
SRAdams4472 ohhh shut up, he clearly wasn't being literal. Take a joke buddy
Trigger Moreno you just can't joke about certain things cancer being one of them also what do you think of the antikithrera mechanism build I am over the open about it
waited for every video ! now its done
What an awesome craftsman, thank you.
