I had a partially torn ACL that I continued to treat as if my knee was fine for one year until i fully tore it, with a partial mcl and meniscus tear (and i previously had a full ACL tear with a bone bruise in other knee) . An NBA athlete would be strong enough to finish the game with a partial tear and if there was no significant damage to the other tendons, muscles, ligaments, and bones, which is possible. an nba player could potentially play for a while on a partial tear, but it would likely lead to greater damage unless youre dejuan blair).
some rare athletes are able to continue playing out the season (HS football this happened) with a fully torn ACL if their knee joint is still relatively tight and they have very strong leg muscles (quads in particular). That would be impossible for basketball.
The amount of injuries these top players tolerate on a regular basis is unbelievable.
