I can attest the “need ground clearance and 4wd” to get to the hikes on this road. I took a beat up Toyota scion XB that’s 2 inches off the ground to just about every single hike in the state, but yes. Some are too f**ked up lol
NC NP is the best NP outside of Alaska and also the most underrated NP outside of Alaska. Scenery is hard to match and there are relatively few people that go there.
Even if it does get packed it should still be preserved pretty well, majority of tourists aren't interested in roughing it that far into the wilderness.

Our company is building a 3000 condo plex for the rich outside of there. That place will be packed soon.
