Icewind Dale has been trapped in a perpetual winter. It is midsummer, but today the sun did not rise, nor has it risen for two years now. The land is locked in perpetual darkness, cold and misery. The people of Bryn Shander, usually the most open and welcoming of Icewind Dale's residents have grown distant, their demeanour icy.
