Flavio was banned from F1 for life for the crashgate, I'd say that's as clear of a prove as you're going to get. Obviously they wouldn't ban him for life if it wasn't the case.

If this case does happen and the SG gets dropped, changing titles, technically there would be a precedent for AD21. But if we drop that result, Max still keeps the WDC from having more wins. But it was neither drivers fault, it was race control. LH already came out and said if the tables were turned he would have done the same thing. You must always go for it.

He's right but it is impossible to replay the rest of the season and how each team would have responded to a different situation than what they were in at the time. Infinite decisions were made considering their relevant positions in the championship, most of those would have been different given the standings were different.
It's a vast oversimplification of how sports are played. It would be like giving a match win to the other team because there were 2 bad calls that cost them goals in the first period and they only lost the match by 1.

Another fact about this case is that that 2008 McLaren shouldn’t even have been on the grid. Max Moseley was about to ban the team for 1 year after spygate (2007), but again, Bernie intervened. 🤦🏽♂️

2021 is even more complex is their is another regulation in the small print that allow a race director to overrides the rules if its safe to do so

Well, Hamilton should sue about 2021 then. Where do you end these sorts of things? We don’t even know who masa would’ve finished if the crash hadn’t happened. Yes he was leading the race, but anything could’ve happened, lock a brake and hit a barrier, flat tyre, etc etc. He can’t state he could’ve won that race if not for the crash.
We would love Hamilton to try for 21, with a rule in place saying if someone is in a legal battle with the body, they can't compete in the championship, this would have Hamilton leave f1 to fight it, and no way in earth is merc gli g to do the same when Hamilton isn't their driver and they already have the constructors trophy for that year. No way will merc back it now

That is the only way it can go because neither Max nor Lewis broke any rule and thus it's not fair that either of their points be removed. It was race control, so the only remedy is leave it standing or throw out all of the points. Either of those Max still wins. If Lewis had more wins FIA probably would have change the title result and given it to him.

I'm sure he could soak up his tears with $75 million. My opinion is that they should have straight away banned Renault from the remainder of the season. Alonso probably would have been able to pick up a seat at another team. So the results we have are probably not what would have happened. It's all kind of too late now, 16 years is too far back to go to make these changes. Just give him some money.

Till the last time I saw him two weeks b4 he died in 2013, my father wanted to beat me yet again (now an adult myself with extremely successful career and paying HIS mtg, my own, running several businesses and housing etc my younger yet fully adult sibling and it's fiancé) for the fact that as a school aged child I clapped and laughed with victory because his teams Hakkinen was crying in the trees while schumi was taking home the win.
Of course I was a child retaliating to years of extreme abuse and trauma and taking joy in my man and teams victory over his - every "punishment" for that little victory over the vile being was SO worth it. Fighting against injustice is at any level, that was my first every hint of real victory or win over the vile man that tormented me and as a child seeing that huge symbol of injustice, corruptness and evil deflated during that race was my first ever sense that he wasn't untouchable. I explain to make clear the joy was not at the expense of Mika, McLaren mercedes, Ron Dennis etc... that's not how real F1 fans have ever acted towards other teams/drivers.
The sport has always brought heat and passion to those involved in it and long long memories to them and any one who loves it.
The pathetic crying whinging era and hate level at other teams/drivers like a football stadium ridiculous level fans is very much recent and disgusting and directly due to the dts style fans.
Of course aside from the odd truly horrific abusive human beings in the world that can exist anywhere and like anything , much like my thankfully departed father.
