- Howdy Folks! The Firebox G2 Stove is TRULY The Swiss Army Knife Of Camp Stoves! This video begins a multi-video review of this FANTASTIC camping stove! I have used it for several years, yet have barely scratched the surface of the potential of this amazing stove.
I provide an overview of the dynamics of the stove and share two uses of the stove in the field. The first of many to come.

MY MAN, oh yeah nothin makes me happier than to see you in the woods doing what you do best.... And i have to say that explanation was anything BUT a basic rundown of what that stove an do.. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I have some thick coat hanger wire i used Southern ingenuity LOL and made work with the swiss shield part of my cook set that look a lot like yours but it was made out of necessity you know, but your stove is on a whole other level (top drawer) with what it can do. I am glad to see that smile on your face when you made your steak though, kudo's brother... Sometimes life aint no sweeter than that moment in time, we need to take a second and enjoy it. Sometimes it's just that simple. You give the best product reviews of anyone i know, the detail is outstanding my friend. You stay warm and give love to everyone for me ok.. Kyle

I have watched a bunch of these videos before purchasing. Big channels and little channels, your review is the most thorough with attention to small details. I appreciate that. Well done. I bought the titanium one, with the extras.
THANKS for a thorough explanation of how the Firebox Stove can be configured and used. I have a medium-sized Solo stove that works well for camping...but is not so convenient to backpack with. For years, I have admired the baking potential of the Firebox design. With the multi-fuel options, I may benefit from owning one. With propane or isobutane fuel, there will not be smoke and so on to energize the residents in my Independent Living Community.

I'm going to use the Firebox as my primary stove this winter. Paused at 48:05. I really have enjoyed the video, I have the g2 all in one set coming in the mail, scratching an itch (and learning its different uses) by watching videos till mine arrives. With the ferro rod, in a tight space try holding the striker steady and pull the rod away from. God bless and thank you for the video.

Love Firebox, I have this, the nano, the Scout, the spit rod, the Zebra billy pot, baking pans. Yes I have a stove addiction problem, or should I say a Firebox/ Steve problem? They’re so versatile.

@@boonedockery7220 lol, have you seen the Omnia oven? Granted that’s not for backpacking but you can do anything with it very easily and works with Trangia or canister stoves. Just saying, nothing to do with our addiction, not trying to make it harder to resist temptation but……..check it out. I love mine, shhhhhh don’t tell.

David I am actually very excited about the prospect of baking when I camp! Yes , the ferro rod Brother Jay made for me has Ephesians 6:11 on it. I agree Ephesians 6:13 is another great verse! I'd have to say the book of Ephesians is one of my favorite of the New Testament. Years ago I tried to start an online business that sold Christian Moral Patches that I designed. It was called Ephesians Six. For many reasons it was a failed venture, but now I use the patches as a form of ministry. Perhaps, I'll try it again in the future, should it be Gods will and he Blesses me with the means to do it! I always love your comments David, Thank You!

Thank You Lee! I plan on using this stove exclusively through the winter. I should be able to provide a lot more information through experience as I go. I have been very impressed with the quality of construction and am thankful that it is made in the USA.

I have the gen2 5 inch and it is great. I bough a modular fire box and it a little small by its self. you need two or more to do the job and that gets expensive. I will keep the modular but the gen2 is my favorite.
I am intrigued with the modular stove, but I agree with you, it could get spendy real quick!

Hey John,,, here’s a 1/2 way through thought,,, I’ve got the 5” titanium firebox and the large Billy Pot,, + all the accessories. I want to try using my Trangia Gas stove, in the 5”, in the Billy pot configuration. Baking with the TG stove will help to give me a constant and regulated temperature. I’ld then use a other 5” FB to make coals for the top of the Billy Pot. I’ll let you know how it turns out,,,,

Joshua, that is brilliant! I have the standard firebox and the 3 liter Zebra Billy can. I've got the money saved up to get all my baking accessories but haven't ordered it yet. I had never considered using two different heat sources. The Trangia would make temperature control a breeze with a little practice.
Here's one back at you, how about creating some kind of reflector positioned about a half an inch above the Billy can to trap the heat from the gas burner?

I have only burnt 2 Small break in fire's, I wanted to purchase the Titanium Version, but being on a Fixed income, I am totally satisfied with the Stainless Version, I do have a Question, it was the Review youDid on your IBLE PACK. I am trying to save up as we speak, Do you have a Reliable Place that I can purchase the Awesome Pack, I only get one chance to purchase a Great Pack,my Stepson that's in Japan, He's in the Marines now for 10 year's, Well he had owed me Some money I lent him, I told him I was really wanting a Eureka 4 person Extreme Cold Weather Tent and a MSS Sleeping System, Wow he Suprised me and I received Both item's 2 Weeks ago. He Did his His Homework and maid sure all of the item's Model numbers matched up, The Tent and the Camo rainfly was brand new, the Artic rainfly was little rougher, I need to give it a little love, Well anyway sorry for the long Story, but I need a Pack that will carry, Those Two awesome item's and much more, So after watching your Review on your pack, I fell in love with it, I have been looking on Ebay, I know it isn't going to be Cheap. But if you have any suggestions for a Hounest Supplyer, I would totally appreciate any suggestions. My heart also breaks from the evil that has descended and seeks to destroy all that is American! Prayer is our first and foremost weapon to battle these agents and forces. I believe our prayers are slowly making a difference.
Secondly, Your acquisitions from your stepson sound fantastic! As for how they would fit in the ILBE, I don't know. If you have time do a quick check on load capacities of the ILBE and FILBE. I believe the FILBE has a dedicated Sleep System carrier built in.
There are some reputable surplus dealers on line, Like Colemans for example you could look at. Very few of the sources that move a lot of inventory have complete ILBE systems. Today, about the best you can hope for is finding a new main pack with waist belt and shoulder straps (no lid, radio carrier or divider). Finding the components can be done with diligence and correspondence. No matter what you find where, contact the seller, ask questions, request detailed photos. If the seller is unwilling to work with you on this, scratch them off your list and move on. I had to do this about a year or so ago when I pieced a complete set together for a friend of mine. It took some time but it paid off in the end. A mix of new and used components, but everything was serviceable and in good shape.

I just found a short video on Whips Ledges State Park in southern Ohio that has the same kind of features as your Secret Fun Spot. Apparently, there is a wide area that was affected by the same geologic events.
Good morning James. I'm sorry for the delay in responding. I will see what the issue is with the discussion section as soon as I reply to your post. I have heard of Whips State Park and even visited there somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 years ago. It's actually in Northern Ohio, very near Cleveland. There are surprisingly several gorgeous parks and wilderness areas in that part of the state. I would love to extend my range from S.E. Ohio, but the demands of my home life keep me close to home. I should be back to my S.F.S. in a few weeks for a series of wild camps and exploration.
