@Nick Smith I love cooking and experimenting with basics. My two adult children absolutely enjoy the h*ll out of my food (me, too!). We'd rather buy fresh food and me cook at home than go out. I haven't had a meal where I went, "omg, oh this is sooo good. Mmmmmm.", in a very long time. Even the best places are sometimes just "okay".

I LOVE this apartment, the library with the ladder, the plants and all, but I could never use a bathroom without a window. it's too claustrophobic. and as cool as the blue tiles, the tub with the four ancient-looking taps and the vaulted ceiling are, I don't think that the dark colours help in that regard.

Out of all the living spaces of the rich and famous this, while obviously expensive, is exceptionally tasteful and welcoming. It's not gaudy, or minimalist, it radiates the energy that a person lives there and genuinely enjoys doing so, and hasn't chosen their belongings to flaunt wealth. He worked with a designer and built a place that fills his wants, needs, fantasies and wishes, and it so happens that his tastes are down to earth, and often practical in their inspiration and execution. I think the space is a wonderful reflection of him, and as he is not a member of the bourgeoisie, as an actor and a worker; handsomly paid but for labour hours nonetheless; I think the use of his honestly earned wealth, to buy a very expensive New York loft, is more than acceptable.
Keep in mind, with my last point, that he is a socialist. Socialism doesn't mean sharing the town toothbrush, it just means people keep what they earn and everyone can live life to an acceptable standard at mininum. A standard *much* higher than what most people can achieve today. And with this place I think we see just what that standard could look like.

This loft is neat, tidy and good use of space. The lighting is perfect. And that bookshelf? Totally worth dying for. Still a very beautiful apartment without over the top designing and furnitures
This looks like a cool space. And David seems like he's a good hang. Down to earth (probably), you can have a beer with him but he's also a little eccentric which is a plus!

It is not extravagant at all; Some of my friends have bigger flats than that and they're not famous at all! I think what makes the difference here is that it really does feel like a home and the decoration is very personal! Great bathroom!

Maya Miller watch the windows int the shot before that and you can see the candle wasn’t there, but then it was 5 seconds later, I was sad to notice this because it means they staged an otherwise funny scene :(

@@garysecher6997 that's editing. The first shot was of David flipping the switch and running to get the candle and the 2nd one (without the candle) was shot later to get the full shot of the blinds closing.
It almost happened with the projector screen too! At 5:12 you can see the candle near the left corner of the screen. It’s ridiculously close to it!😆

Me giving an AD tour during quarantine: So this is my single student bedroom... when corporates were designing the space they went with 3/4 Bed, 1/4 Room feel. My bed doubles as the place I sleep, the place I eat, the place I study and the place I do Zoom meetings. Very multipurpose.

@@smileyplays1661 I think that they took the thing multiple times, because you can see how in the shots before and after, candle is and isn't there :D like 6:00 isn't, 6:04 when he's in picture it is there, 6:11 when he's showing closets it is there still, then when he presses the button, there is no way they would turn from looking at him pressing that button to the curtains that quick (plus they seem to be shifted a meter or so as well), so most probably they took it later on, and then he picks the candle when they most probably moved along to talk.

This is probably the ideal size for a living space, I feel like people want to live in these huge extravagant places but I would be way happier in a smaller cozier place.
I lived in a big house for awhile. It was exhausting in a way. Upstairs downstairs around corners. Taking out garbage. Carrying laundry. It's stupid to complain about but I feel like this is a perfect living size for 1-2 persons.

He likes playing these characters and I'm glad he's proud of his work like all that Stranger Things flex and even flexed a bit of his MCU character that hasn't come out yet.

Despite this place being a terrifying fire hazard, I love it. The olive green stove with brass knobs, complimented by the live greenery and random placement of everything, definitely my style. Hopper's got good taste.
