This presentation demonstrates an approach to eye-movement disorders commonly seen in an ophthalmology or optometry clinic. This is the first half of the lecture, and focusses on large-angle tropias and how to document and name tropias (exotropia, esotropia, hypertropia, hypotropia).
it is the most most simplest ophtho video i have ever seen. thank you so much. you are a saviour
yeh
Excellent video, incredibly informative. As a medical student this is the best explanation I could possibly ask for regarding these tests.
You explained it beautifully, sir! I wish we had professors like you in our college. #Subscribed
it's an amazing illustration about that subject :) and your videos have been a great help for me to understand some of these topics :) simple and to the point ,, that's why i liked it :)
Hi
This is an excellent lec!!!! Thank you so much! Are you going to be posting more lectures?
Thank you very much, i now know that "the thing i had in my right eye while looking left" is actualy a - "Right hypertropia with left gaze".
I've had this ever since i was a child (18 now) and i wonder, is there any way to fix this?
Saja,
What you are describing is "inferior oblique over action" which causes the eye to shoot upwards when looking toward the nose. There are many reasons to have this ... many children with congenital esotropia also have an IOOA. Another reason for a nasal upshoot that I see more often (because I work with adults) is a 4th nerve palsy. I recommend you watch my cranial nerve palsy lecture to see how this works.
Tim Root
sir u r very handsome
Hey Tim 👋 it’s Preston you most likely won’t see this comment but whatever I was just sayin hi...
Because what I've understood that in left hypertropia right gazing , there is an extra function for inferior oblique muscle which is responsible for elevation and adduction of the eye ball and it's innervated by the occulomotor not the 4th cranial nerve which innervates superior oblique
These are so well presented
have you ever been told that you resemble tom cruise? 😄
shweta Agarwal i was abt to comment that
Why would you insult the man?
Yep! But he's charming...
You are so right
Please explain crossed and uncrossed diplopia?
okay, i did not expect you to look like that--pleasantly surprised haha. Thanks for the videos--they've been super helpful in helping me study for my clinic quiz tomorrow :)
Very good presentation.
Thank you so much!! Your have made job much simpler and easier to understand.
Awesome video Dr. Thanks a lot.
Tim, please tell me how to cure exotropia?I had a surgery at 10 yrs old.Now I'm 23 and it's coming again.I have no idea what to do.Waiting for reply 🙏
I ws exercising my eye muscles on the couch one day, quite vigorously. Suddenly one of the eye balls started to whirl for about 5 to ten seconds
(possibly triggered a muscle spasm). My vision separated into two images and something like vertigo. It was an interesting experience lasting at most 10 seconds. The point is that there are muscles in the orbits and like other muscles they work together and must be maintained in healthy condition. Otherwise my eyes are extremely healthy and I'm working on the Bates/Steiner methods for cancelling my myopia. These methods work but they are very subtle as is the Human Eye. JFroelich Ph.D mathematics, NSF postdoc etc.....etc....
Very easy to get it by this VDO. THANK YOU
does brain damage or hit on the back of the head cause the eyes move irregular direction?
this was so helpful! thank you!
i have what seems like hypertropia and have had doctors do that eye test many times and they never told me that i had a problem. its not that noticeable i will add. but i can tell that my right eye is higher than my left eye. is there any way to fix this without surgery.
9:10 should the infero-nasal percentage of the left eye not be below 100%?

Hi, Vertical diplopia that's mean when you have Hypertropia or Hypotropia in one eye, right or left and Horizontal diplopia when you found Esotropia or exotropia in one or both eyes.

I've had the cover test many times when I would see my glaucoma specialist or the optometrist.
thank you so much
Wow!
5:19 is all you need to watch
Dear Doctor!
I have 2 degrees of hypertrophia in the left eye, when focusing with the right eye.
Some information:
- I am 21 years old.
- I have duoble vision. (I can change tha main focus eye-by-eye)
- I wear glasses
- My left eye focuses upwards, and it looks so awkward (no matter if my glasses are
on or not, its there)
Although i also have 2 degrees of hypertrophia in the right eye when focusing with
the left eye, its not really a problem since in that case, my right eye focuses
DOWNWARDS with that 2 degree. Aesthetically it suits my preferences.
But the first case doesn't.
I would like to go under eye muscle surgery to solve the problem.
Glasses don't help.
In general, could it be possible to fix it with lengthening or shortening some
muscle?
What is your personal opinion?
I really admire Your work, thank you very much.
Schmitt Gábor did you try vision therapy?
Optometry is sooooooo lonngggggggggggg! JHEEZE!
Jim
Damn are u related to tom cruise? 😂
OMG he'so freaking handsome😍😍😍
pervert
Neha Arora u might b indian lady. .. becz u r criteria is so limited.
Sohail Khan If you haven't noticed, he kinda looks like Tom Cruise....of course he won't qualify for your standard of male beauty since he lacks Bin Laden's facial bush or the skull cap.
He was not implying such but was against lust; something you need to learn to be against.
R Bhattacharya 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
While watching this video I attempted cover - uncover test on my own eye and found professor Tim suddenly looked like Tom! 👀
#TomCruiseSibling
Sir. You are Tom Cruise.
Why does he look like Tom Cruise?
Cause that's how God made him
