When you take the stress to trigger the break, you can call a hunt/feast/other stress loss activity while still puased to avoid picking up a negative trait. Also, the sponsor the jewish sciences decision is extremely overpowered! Love the tall videos!
You must be the only CK youtuber who went for peaceful route of the struggle. Unique.
I think it's the best choice immersion-wise. It's so easy to paint the map in this game that it kills the fun fast.

I agree. And to me after you grow so big, trying to control your empire internally becomes a struggle in and of itself, especially on succession, which isnât unrealistic, but itâs annoying.
Though I prefer pacifism play style, I for once wouldn't ever take detende ending for iberian struggle.
I mean, it was an unprovoked ummayyad invasion of visigothic iberia that forced the reconquista to happen in the first place. Peaceful ending is out of the question.
I always go for conquest ending, or at least status quo ending if byzantine empire aren't getting utterly destroyed by their eastern enemies, for immersion purpose.
I play for peace elsewhere, and play in iberia when I got the itch for war lol
If you start as Robert the Fox, you can easily build a powerbase in Sicily, convert to Sicilian culture and then migrate to Barcelona to create a Catalan-Sicilian hybrid with parochialism, republican legacy AND maritime mercantilism (esp. powerful in Barcelona because a lot of coasts for trade ports) which gives you +10% development growth per city level of each city holding in the county, alongside a metric dick-ton of trade ports to create an absolutely absurd level of monthly development
Zieley you should check out the Canary islands in this update. They get a religion where they can build moniliths which increase development in a county and can build a mega monolith as a duchy building. A bonus is that two of the holy sites for that religion is withing the Canary island duchy which is tiny so you can easily hold all the baronies/castles within it.
I tried but itâs difficult, sardinia is really good for playing tall. (It has mines donât get attacked by anyone really)
@@lordfarquaad5990 True, you have to make sure you get the other counties, the single island one is the most difficult because of the disembarkation debuff. However, after that you can fully upgrade them with all the buildings and go raiding all off Africa. With a strong alliance you can take the mines in Africa (like I did) or Hispania or Sardinia. From there it's just a matter of becoming feudal. It's how I decided to do my "conquer all of Africa" run, having strong defensive buildings on an island they have to invade because it's your capital almost always guarantees you wipe their army.
So I was checking around reforming religions you can add the monoliths to say the norse religion (any pagan from what I could tell), I don't know if it's available to Abrahamic/Eastern religions someone will need to check that one. (I might edit later if I discover)
@@Fun4luve Yeah check that out because being able to do that where you can add multiple temple holdings in a county would be crazy. Unfortunately when I reformed the holdings instantly became cities so I had to conquer other places to build them.
@@dragonsblaze7961 â So I decided to check wikia, my pc can't actually run the game but the computer next to mine can it's currently in use atm unfortunately, and I went to the megalith tenet it has no requirement so any religion in the world can decide big development stones is the way to go forward. Weird on the temple becoming cities thing I wonder what caused that it seems strange.

Same here. Wish I could send some saves, but GeForce Now saves the stream cloud on their own servers for certain games and I can't access the files.
Thx for the vid, don't forget to make your steward your best friend it'll give you a +20% bonus on the 'increase development in county' task, you can then increase their stewardship by synergising with them
The added stress gain for best friends is always worth it when you've picked a steward focused friend and it's the difference between holding that extra castle or not. Running a befriend scheme at all times then taking that Diplomacy perk in the family tree that losers stress for every friend will balance that right out though.

I'm a firm believer in disinheriting heirs of your first character if any will be independent from the primary one. After the first I just do wars go recapture the primary titles if need be. It sucks but I think the 150 (even 300 if you need to do 2) is worth it. Usually not developed enough for easy wars after the first character dies. After the 2nd guy dies I'm usually developed enough where recapturing titles is easy
Arguably the cost of disinheriting becomes less and less significant as the game goes on. The legacies get more expensive while you (ideally) earn more renown. I agree with your reasoning of disinheriting in the first succession but I almost always disinherit in the following successions due to the decreased opportunity cost.
I'm surprised you went for hill dwellers before the Gardener culture ability. The court slot for the gardener is absolutely crazy for playing tall

After getting this DLC, it feels like everyone manages to hire mercenaries even when they can't afford it.
I've specifically made sure they had no money. One guy I looked at was -700 in debt, yet he managed to get 1.5k mercenaries. It made initial expansion as an independent count quite hard. Even fellow counts were buying mercenaries that I myself couldn't yet afford. It also didn't help that everyone was allying at least 2 other states. It also also didn't help that my rival, the king of Asturias, chose to invade me every time I was conquering someone. I was forced to constantly buy mercenaries using the remainder of my money. I was Akom so nobody wanted to ally me and everyone wanted me dead, and because I was Akom, I didn't get the OP casus bellis that allow you to take every bordering county.
It was ridiculously hard.
Take it as a challenge find new ways brother mercenary spam can be annoying asf so always check how much money they have

Sometimes in your videos you get a popup for a common event and you usually go past it without showing what you click. Would love to get just a brief comment on these and showing what you pick and why. Like in this one you got the poachers in the county event during the hunt.
when you have a rally point selected you can just rightclick on a county to move its location đ
Idea đĄ. Starting as Barcelona in 1066 stay catalan become king of aragon, sardena e corsega and Sicily work towards making palermo or naples(would highly recommend naples because if you build the university 1st you can replace a normal building with the parliament later.) After empowering the parliament in you capitol of choice create a hybrid Sicculo-Catalan culture (if it's early enough in the game you want Visigothic code for high partion) if it's later and you already have high partition or primogeniture ignore the hybrid culture thing. Make sure to also max out metropolitan dynasty perks. Make sicilian culture have Parochialism and Maritime Mechantilism. And finally for extra spice play with these mods. Medieval Arts, Dominus Mundi and Catholic Trinity. You can of course add or remove whatever mods to this list.

Hey, Zieley, I think you abuse disinheritance. I propose a challenge where you play as many real life conquerors did:
1) Have a harem of wives or concubines as large as possible always, of fertile women of course. Use appropriate faiths or cultures for that
2) Have as much sex as the game throws at you (always accept sex invitations, etc.)
3) Have many as many children you can and don't disinherit any. That includes creative ways of disinheriting (murder, leading armies, etc.)
4) Legitimize bastards always
5) Always use partition
6) Live with the consequences of a life of debauchery
This is more of a nuisance than anything. Usually it just leads to you having to fight your brothers for their titles which unless you're bad is more annoying than game changing. Just my personal opinion maybe others don't see it similar.
â@@razier5299 The difficulty in CK3 is always nuisance rather than challenge. It's a very easy game as it's not skill based- its an RPG and a player with meta game knowledge can do anything they wish with ease. The challenge comes from "role playing" your character's goals. This is what we're working with until the devs find a way to make CK3 challenging in an organic way.

Hi Ziely - great video. Which 2 duchies in Iberia do you recommend a player hold at the start or early in the game in an Asturias play through- Galicia, Leon or Castille? Secondly what are the best 2 duchies to hold in all of iberia?

You can play tall with just about anyone in theory. How fast you develop is based on mix of land and culture so adapt where you see possible. Hardest part is always the start IMHO since you more or less are diplomatic centered with skills ect
I recently played tall in India and oh boy I think I might be a medievel millionare because I built around 4 castles.
