For a guy that claims he doesn't know what he's doing, I'd say that fence is absolutely beautiful!! I'd love to let my dogs run crazy but who knows what's out there to challenge their safety. I think you did an awesome job.

That is such a great fence. I'm a nervous wreck just using a skill saw but love watching others with the super cool tools 🎉

For someone who says they don't know what they're doing the fence looks amazing! More importantly, it also looks iggy-proof. Just watch where you put the kennel!

I didn’t laugh at any of your work. I’m impressed you go for it whether you’re a pro or a first timer at building anything. I think it’s really sharp. And it’s cool that you used a wire mesh so you can see that nice retaining wall. You should give your self more credit at your abilities Tim. That’s why we watch you. You’re not afraid to try new things. It looks great 👍🏼

Hi Tim, bit of a pain to do now, but you could use the speed bore to countersink the nuts on those bolts so they don't protrude at all. That way you won't have any sharp metal bits to get snagged on.

Since you have that faucet right there, i suggest a self filling water bowl. I have one. It works off weight. So when the bowl gets light, it turns the water one and fills it back up. It is pretty cool. I think that is a bit like what you have for the chickens but in dog size. I think the fence looks great. Very professional. Gotta love a man who uses a level.❤

I think you did a great job Tim! That fence isn’t going anywhere. I like the hogwire on the gate as well. I see you have a laundry line as well. Have you and Nicole thought about a prefab home while you build so you can get to living there full time more quickly? It is such a lovely spot. How is the garden coming along?

That hammer you've got there Tim is more for breaking up concrete slabs etc. you really want the next size down hammer with a spade bit on it for that kind of work. Regarding the hole near the plumbing being clay and no sandstone, I'm guessing you've dug over the existing trench the plumbing runs in. You did a good job in the end though Tim!

Love how it turned out - I've always liked the framed mesh fences and how they look. It will be a great lounge area for the doggos once you've got it kitted out! I like the suggestion for a self-waterer that I saw in another comment. And I wonder if there are any post caps with solar lights in the size posts you used? Easy way to get some light in that enclosure after dusk without having to wire up anything.

Tim - did you say before the posts were 90 x 90 - you could get some of the galv caps that go on the metal posts - and put them on your timber ones - then you can totally hide any cuts that are not level.

That looked like a fun project. Better to do it yourself than hire somebody. Much more satisfying, even if there are a few flaws. Who cares? You’ll want to treat the top of those posts or cap them to keep the rain off, otherwise they’ll rot or split eventually. That stick pump was very cool. Never saw one before. If you keep collecting tools and gadgets at this rate, you’ll need a bigger shed.

As any fence builder knows, the hardest part is often the holes. And when there 2mtr high fences, you MUST go down 600mm. Saves you needing a gym membership.

I think the biggest issue was the sandstone he ran into about 30-50mm deep as he was digging the holes. A rock auger May have also helped, but in the end he got through the sandstone with that demo hammer.
