I’m so glad Queen used him in the movie as a vocalist for parts they needed for Freddy’s singing. Would have hated to see this talent go to waste.

They didn't want to bring in a front man with a mimic of Freddie’s vocals. What an insult that would be to Freddie’s legacy, only Freddie was, could or should be Freddie. There are several interviews out there of the band explaining why they went with Adam and that was one of them. Check the interviews out if you would like a more comprehensive answer in regards to why they did not go with Mark and went with Adam instead. To another who indicated it in this thread....whether the front man was gay or not was in no way a part of their decision. A member of the band actually said it was hard to believe it wasn't Freddie singing when listening Mark cover one of their songs.

He dances, he sings, he plays guitar, he also plays piano like a beast... the guy even re-imagined a famous classical music piece and sang as if Freddie were covering the song. My mind was fucking blown!! I felt like I Was literally watching Freddie Mercury at his peak

They did use Rami’s, Freddie’s, and Marc’s voices together although they also slightly modified Marc's voice after recording so he could sound more like Freddie.

Freddie had an almost superhuman vocal range, near perfect pitch and more power than you can shake a stick at. If you were going to impersonate a singer, he’s pretty much one of the toughest you could ever choose. And you pulled it off effortlessly. What an incredibly talented singer you are.
Only one thing... he isn't impersonating. That is his voice... he can't NOT sound like Freddie. Sounding similar, and having the best voice on the planet at the same time is a blessing to the world.
I heard people have compared there vocal chords and they are almost the same. That's why he has such a good range
Id like to mention their bone structure at least in the jaw is also very similar I bet it helps add to that Freddie sound

Etiene Oxnard 2 I simply linked to a video that the Official Queen CZcams account posted, showing that they DID hire this guy to tour...
Adam Lambert does his own thing when singing with Queen, giving folks the opportunity to continue seeing and hearing this music performed live. He seems to help Brian and Roger put on a heck of a show. (I can't speak from experience, because I haven't seen him live.)
But I also understand that there are some discerning ears who would like the opportunity to hear a voice that sounds similar to Freddie, and get to experience Queen's music live. Thankfully Marc has been gifted with a great singing voice and has been given the opportunity to tour around the world as well.
(I get that it's not really up to us to decide who Roger and Brian tour with, and as exciting as it might be to imagine Marc taking the stage with them, it still won't look and sound like Queen did 30 or so years ago.)
Went to see the movie yesterday, and Marc's name was totally buried in the credits as "additional vocals" !!?! He should have gotten much higher billing than that!
