Wood chip spreading party! I’ll bring the beer!! Who’s down?
That's for sure!
I would donate a tree in memory of a loved one! & A tree planting party with friends and family!
That’s a great idea!
Great idea...
Great video. I enjoyed hearing the " thuds" as long as y'all were safe.😊❤
Wow, those tree guys did some very impressive work! Can't wait to see the final results on how your yard looks when they're done.
It already looks so much better!
You're going to have such peace of mind having the "widow makers" gone! Looking good!
Already sleeping better at night!
Those guys doing the work are really good and their equipment is top notch, can't wait to see the final result.
It sure was impressive to watch!
What a huge undertaking! It’s going to look so nice when the project is completed. Happy for you both!
Thanks Doug! We're excited for the transformation!
Do you miss truck camping? That seems simple now compared to what you are up against. 😊
It was definitely a much simpler lifestyle. We love the constant projects but excited to get back in the camper for a trip!
I am really excited for you. When this work is done, you will have many beautiful trees left that will flourish.
It has been fun watching the work progress.
I worked for a tree service right out of high school back in 1970/71.
I loved that type of work. This brings back good memories for me.
How cool, hopefully the team did a good job in your eyes! Sure is impressive work
Make it fun / rent a skid steer for spreading wood chips 🤙
That would be fun!
Great video, from the intro drone shots, to the commentary as the work was being done. The Teupen is an awesome tool. The crew of three certainly works well together. Looking forward to seeing to final result next week.
Thank you! And it sure is awesome, definitely makes their job easier while keeping the team safe!
They are doing a great job😊
They truly are!
I love these videos. It’s exciting to see the improvements you are making. Your work crew makes cutting those trees look easy, but we all know it’s very dangerous.
Absolutely, it was impressive to watch but I know how much time and experience they have put into their work!
Leave the wood chips in big pile, it will turn into the best growing dirt the fastest about years
I bet it would be great dirt!
That is amazing. Wow. Love your channel!!!
Thank you!
Adding wood chips to a trail surface is a no go. Wood chips + soil = muck. Depending on your environment, it could be months or years, but it will end up as muck. Adding a separation barrier, geo-textile, will help and delay the process.
Can't wait to see what you do with your huge yard when the trees are gone.
We’ve got all kinds of ideas we’re throwing around!
Great video! You're in ranch country. You could sell the chips for livestock bedding.
Good idea!
If you now get a tractor with a loader you could move the cips around
That sure would be ideal!
I’m sure that this was overwhelming to you both. Just think of how pretty it will look with all those lovely walking trails! The aerial shot was amazing! You weren’t kidding when you said you were close to the Lake!❤
Thank you, Nicole! We’re glad you enjoyed the video and it sure will be nice to have the walking trail completed!
Looks great. I'm ready to sell my place in Monroe, MI and move up north. Not gonna happen, but you're living a dream. Even with the fungus among us.
Been looking forward to this video guys!! Thank You and God Bless America!!🇺🇸💪🇺🇸
Thanks for watching, Dave!
Can’t wait for the below zero blizzard videos this winter 🥶 ❄️ 😁. Enjoy the summer as long as you can.
We’ve heard it gets crazy cold up here!
Thanks for sharing! It is impressive to watch!
Thanks for watching!
Well you certainly have enough wood chips for "Garden paths, Garden mulch, Composting, Mulching around (New) trees or Fruit Trees, covering wet muddy area's and Nature trails" ? Great video's and commentary can't wait for more content and watching your homestead grow.
Yes we'll have plenty for making a great walking trail! Thanks for watching!
Hello Guys, Good Show👍🏼🪵🇺🇸
Thank you!!
AWESOME VIDEOS TAKE CARE NOW
Thanks! You too!
I just hate it that someone would take advantage of you guys, because of your ages. It is looking amazing. Great job.
They are not a very bright couple
Sort of simple
That is a lot of nice carving wood! Many woodcarvers would love some of that beech. May want to look up local wood carving clubs and let the president or an officer of the club that you have it available to sell at a good price! Say just under market per board feet value. Beech goes for $3.32 a bdft, so I “wood” sell a 12” dia. log x 16” in length for $28 to $30. Help pay for the tree cutting. If 8” to 10” in dia. Maybe $24. Wood carving shows in your area. Cut up the logs and pay for a booth and sell the logs there. Just a thought.
Great job! Thanks for sharing the progress, can’t wait to see the after.
Thank you, Debbie!
You need a large yard tractor with a front loader bucket and wagon 😁.
It sure would help!
Thanks for these, you guys are doing a great job! There’s 3 groups of channels I follow and watch all the time: tractor/equip channels, RVers, and homesteaders. Some crossover happens a lot. Very fun to watch you guys branch out. By the way, I heard that comment about not moving all those chips with a wheel barrow. Keeping that in back of my mind…lol. Thanks guys!
It sure does seem that those 3 usually run in a circle… and it would just be boring to watch us move them all with a wheelbarrow… right?!
@@LivingLargeCamping Exactly!
You might want to research the spread of the fungus through reusing the wood chips and treat accordingly. Not familiar with that type of fungus but better safe than spreading through reuse.
The fungus is species specific so all of the Beech trees are already infected, so they're good to use for other projects
What about neighboring properties. Does everyone around there have e diseased trees. Interesting video to watch. Great work.
Yes, the fungus worked its way through the whole area.. so sad!
Good video. Looking forward to the before and after pictures.
Coming soon!
Looks good!!
Thank you!
Wood chips make good mulch for future gardens it's as good as gold don't give it away. It will be good dirt one day.
We’re planning on keeping it!
Looks like you two are really getting your property taken care of. Mulch is known to spontaneously combust, so keep an eye on any heat building up.
We’re trying to get it as healthy as we can!
Great Video
Thank you!
Hey Guys! Just watched your latest! Wow! What a mess. Hope everything works out for you guys! Can’t wait to see it all finished! Love your cute little Cabin. Good luck to you both! Be safe!❤️
Thank you!
Thanks for the video ~ both subscribed & enjoyed video.
Thanks for joining the audience!
My suggestion, bag the mulch and sell it cheap to motivate buyers. Put your ad sign up on that road in the video that looks traveled.
That would be a good idea!
Move all those wood chips with a wheelbarrow….Good Luck with that!…see ya in a few years. Your gonna need to rent a Bobcat or larger tractor with a front loader. I’d use some of those trees to line a trail, then used the wood chips on the path and/or to landscape with around the home. Just beware it is not cedar so it may attract ants or termites. You’ll find something to do with it. Sell to schools for playgrounds or to a local nursery.
I think you guys will need a short camper vacay when this is over. 😁
That’s for sure! We’re itching for it
Put a free sign out for wood chips
Looking good! Can’t imagine the expense.
It wasn’t a fun expense that’s for sure
Can’t wait for you to get back to camping
We're already planning a trip soon!
Great content, love it. Also love the new music! Great keep it up guyz. 👍
Thanks, Dale!!
Looks amazing guys
Thank you, Steve!
I love your channel, keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
Think no wheelbarrow...think 4x4 and tow a cart.those 4 wheelers come in handy for yard work
I’d be cautious of the big pine next to the cabin.
We’ll have it checked every year, but just love the look of the cabin being tucked underneath!
Would love to meet you guys… I am also in the woods business
I think they will clean up, but disturbed ground heals with astonishing speed compared to western states.
I’m sure it’ll be back to “normal” by next spring!
Hey guys, is that body of water a part of the Great Lakes?
Are they going to grind down the stumps, or just leave them above ground to let you decide what you want to do with them?
They left the stumps for now, we’ll decide how we want to remove them at a later date
Great viedo, thought i saw a lake from the drone shot??
Very cool! Expensive😳
Crazy expensive!
You guys definitely need a gator that you can fill and dump. Should have one on property that big anyway.
Isnt that mulch meant to stop weeds getting through ?
Yes when it obstructs sunlight, but we’ll likely have to do additional weed management
Well all these wood chips mixed with some. Chemicals and resins can be made into wood soft boards which later can be used as insulating material....just mentioning ,check out if its practical
Interesting to know, I’ll have to check it out!
Where did you guys park your truck? LOL
We left it on the road while they worked on the trees
P&G uses woodchips to run the electricity for their plant. They might remove your wood chips for free.
Very interesting!
Looks great. Where is the cabin located?
Hey guys love your videos and everything you had done but what drone are you using for that amazing footage
Thank you! And we use the DJI Air 2S
Have you considered using the wood to burn out your stumps?
We’ve thrown that idea around, we’ll likely have to do something with the stumps!
This video shows why you need to hire a pro for a job this size. The danger itself as well as the volume of work. Great decision guys!
Couldn’t agree more, thanks for the support!
After this, You, could put in an orchard
There are a ton of fruit trees in this area!
@@LivingLargeCamping Great!
What is the tree cleanup going to cost you!!!!
I hope nobody's driving by when the trees fall across the road?
You now need a tractor
That’s for sure!
DO NOT place those wood chips around your home! Dramatically increases the risk of termites
Have enjoyed keeping up with your adventures but I do have a question that does not pertain to this video. We watched your video in the refurbishment of your Lance camper. We have an older model that has been well taken care of. I believe you removed and added a new seal to the front window in the cab over section. How did you find and purchase the seal? We have tried everything we know to have our seal replaced as it has started leaking. Have not been able to make that happen.
Please advise where we can find the seal, who we could possibly contact to have it replaced. We’ve called Lance, no response. We understand they are not working everyday and have a much smaller staff than before.
Any advice appreciated.
Happy travels. And best wishes on your new home.
I believe we just used Butyl tape to re seal the front window. There is the ring that goes around the outside of the glass but I wasn’t able to find a replacement for that part. Hope this helps!
Great video, but need man shoes.
Have you considered your liability if one of the trees near the road falls on top of a vehicle, or even kills the occupants? I would have them removed.
There is more of a chance of a deer running out of the woods when you live up north than a tree falling down near the road.. almost every road in the north woods is tree lined.. 😊
My thoughts exactly. For liability reasons alone, it might be worth the extra expense of clearing that area of diseased trees near the road and leave the healthy ones as you have been doing. Yes, the odds are remote that a catastrophic accident will occur, but if it does you are liable. Don't you love being a homeowner/property owner!! : ) Great job with the videos and sharing this home ownership adventure with us!
You realize you just admitted on video that you know trees by the road are leaning towards the road and could certainly be a liability!! Better to take them down now!!!
Those wood chips are sequestering carbon on the ground. I appreciate you not burning all the wood.
We figured it would be nice to add some nutrients back on our land!
