    Pretty cool. Running guns like the DWX in IWB carry is a little outside of my comfort but I 100% hear you on holster fatigue. Thanks for the video.

      I only carry that on occasion lol, but I feel special when I do 🤣 mostly I use it for my Mac 9 DS and the one I'll be building from a Jem frame and slide

    Holsters are one of those things that actually influence what gun I buy.

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM  Před 4 měsíci

      I can definitely understand that. I'm glad manufacturers are starting to pay attention to that and add holsters ready for when they release guns. A lot of the guns I buy are new models and the holsters for them are scarce. Dwx, s2c, etc I hate waiting for the industry to catch up. I also hate only having one option. I went through a phase where I was making them myself but I grew out of that lol. Now I'm in the multi-fit phase and I have two that are working pretty nice, werkz M6 and Mckinatec. Those two cover 5, soon to be 6 guns.

    Liked and subscribed! It’s looks like you know your stuff and I hope you don’t mind me asking what is your thoughts about the Prodigy 4.25? And why did you choose the MAC over the Prodigy?

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the compliment. I try to learn more everyday. I think the prodigy is a great gun. I don't have a lot of first hand knowledge on it though. Only what I've learned from studying it and watching videos. I did choose the Mac over the Prodigy. The prodigy was my original plan for a project. They had some early issues when they came out but it looks like Springfield Armory got it under control, still everyone has been replacing the MIM parts and the ignition systems and from what I hear they turn into excellent guns. Sometimes rivaling their counterparts that cost much more money. Bought this thinking that it was going to be a nice project for me, but all it really needed was a new grip, and that was just personal preference.. I don't know if you seen the other video I put out That has a lot of in-depth information about the pistol, you should check it out. The trigger did need some tuning, I was able to accomplish it with just tuning a sear screen. The pool is about 3.5 lb now and the wall is still there, firm and well defined, the pulll is crisp. The prodigy is a little more expensive, but that's not why I chose the Mac. Honestly Tisas has a great reputation in the 1911 community and I wanted to try it firsthand. I may get a prodigy down the road to build. I'm not a professional or anything, but I am a good student and I'm teaching myself. I'm out here just trying to share what I've learned so others can make better decisions. I've learned a lot that way from people

      @@MoneyShot_CM Thank you so much for your explanation and the excellent information. I’m still debating whether to buy the MAC or the Prodigy, SF supposedly fixed the issues with the Prodigy and they do have great customer service. Not sure how Tisas customer support works. The platypus from Stealth Arms looks promising as well but $1,700 price tag. I am saving money to buy the Bul Atmory 4.25 Tac Pro(ported version) with all steel frame but I just want to have an entry level of 1911 DS. I have a nice selection of Sig, PDPs, H&K etc but not 1911 style. Thanks again for your advice and I’m glad I came across your channel!

      @@OBZ74 the Bul sounds like a solid plan. I love those. I have a UL 3.25 that I have modified. I hear great things about the platypus, but it's not a true 2011 so I'm not that into in it. But it's great from what I hear. Think you can pick up a prodigy for like 1,200 bucks now so the price difference between that and the Mac isn't that much. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. Just be aware that you may need to eventually change ignition parts to get really great performance out of The prodigy, but who knows maybe it'll Good enough stock. I've only played with an upgraded one.

    Since it works with the DWX would it also work with CZ Shadow 2

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM  Před 18 dny +1

      I think so. As long as it has the Tlr1 HL. It works on the shadow compact, it's the same gun just shorter

    i was just looking for a good budget holster for the mac9ds

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM  Před 4 měsíci

      This one is great, but its not really budget in my eyes, its about 85 bucks unless you catch a disocunt code. I did try a budget one from amazon that was for the Prodigy and it fit perfect, it was like 60 bucks. The best thing about this one is it will fit more than one gun if you have a TLR1 on them. I do have a Mckinatec MTA shown at the end that video that works well, but needs adjustment, thats is on the next video, it was around 75 bucks. Those prices aren't budget but if they fit more than one it comes out budget in my eyes lol.
      I think you will be good for anything that fits the prodigy 4.25, there may be cheaper ones that are not light bearing.

    on your mac 9 ds, looks like the mainspring housing plunger pin has been put in on the wrong side, and did ya lose the smaller retaining pin? Looks like ya got the magwell pin installed without the magwell

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM  Před 2 měsíci

      Old video, it only came with a magwell length pin, I hate magwells for carry so The first thing I did was remove it. I had to use the magwell pin until the regular length pin came in, I didn't want to cut it because who knows if I'll ever need it. On the main spring pin I'll have to check.

    • @ccompson2
      @ccompson2 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @MoneyShot_CM only reason I noticed was minutes before i saw your video I had just replaced mine with a lighter spring and needed a third hand to drop the pin back in. Looks slick with the villian though

    • @MoneyShot_CM
      @MoneyShot_CM  Před 2 měsíci

      @@ccompson2 nice! I have a 1911 bench block that helps with that, mashed it doable with no third hand, still a little tricky. What showing did you go with? My mainspring is the same, but I've been testing the 12 and 13 lb recoil springs. I'm going to test the 14 lb next week, I got a good update video coming, mine's still running flawless.

    • @ccompson2
      @ccompson2 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @MoneyShot_CM recoil I'm trying 11 lbs. Mainspring is 19 lb.

      They are pretty scarce right now. The only one I know of is onguns.com but it's expensive. Dan Wesson mages the guns in batches I hear. The DWX will come back around.

      MJD Villain grip. It's great. With the discount code it's like $318 bucks. There might be a little more information on it in the other Mac 9 video I did. If you want to know anything else just let me know.
