- The No. 24 Texas Longhorns upset the No. 13 Kansas State Wildcats in a wild game in the Big 12. Quinn Ewers led the Longhorns with 197 passing yards and two touchdowns and Bijan Robinson also contributed with 209 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Kansas State brought the score to within one touchdown after falling behind in the first half. Texas held on for the win 34-27.

Texas loss to Tech put them on the outside looking in but with the Oklahoma state loss today, we have a chance to play TCU for the Big 12 championship if we run the table
I loved this game. Showed what Quinn can be for a full season, showed that the Horns actually can finish when they just have some confidence. That last play when Coburn forced the fumble was just confidence - he knew his guy couldn’t keep him so he made a play, knowing he’d either get the flag or the ball. I really hope my Horns come through this year. If they beat Bama week 2, they’ll definitely have that confidence needed to run the table

@@orangeblood307 it was the penalties that kept Kstate in the game. We got behind the sticks...on our own. A PI call, a face mask( that was barely noticable). So the game was turning. However, we won the game just as we should. MARTINEZ DIDNT GET IN. Our zone coverage needs work.

I would not be at all surprised to see them go into halftime with a 17 point lead on TCU, then end up losing by a field goal.
I watched this game live and I'm still watching highlights. It doesn't get any easier for the Horns. Good win in Manhattan....
As a longhorn fan I knew we'd run out of steam in the second half and be hanging on for the win, seen this happen too many times. team needs to learn to put their foot on the opponents throat.
We got TCU at home at night . I need better execution in second half from both sides of the ball.

A great coach/coaching staff PREPARES for the "adjustments" by the opponent team. The longhorns are not that good to impose its will on other teams.
@@carsonc29 Speaking of Ewers being a freshman, I'm worried Sark is gonna be pressured to start Manning, and Ewers will see himself to the transfer portal again. Would be nice to have 2 solid options at QB again like this year with Ewers and Card.
@@nahor88 thats not likely...Ewers was a high ranked player..you really cant think that he came to Texas to be a back up just so TX fans can feel good about their QB situation...he came to start..as did Manning..would be selfish of TX fans to expect one of them to be happy as a back up..KU oddly enough is gonna have a similar issue when Daniels returns..their back up actually looks a little bit better than Daniels..so I cant think he is gonna want to go back to the bench if he has the option to transfer and start somewhere else
Texas is cartoonishly bad in the second half.
It amazes me how wide open the KS receivers were all night. The DBs looked lost and confused at times. Texas needs to work on that.

Quinn is the future, and as this young OLine develops, and most importantly the way PK is creating this amazing defense with nothing but opportunities, once you plug in talented guys like Sydi, Hill, Vasek, Simmons (hopefully) then we’re going to see just how special this team will be in the near future. The next great program like Georgia is being created right before our very eyes, the eyes of Texas baby Hook Em’ 🤘

It's happened consistently. Sark makes half-time adjustments that are totally negative. Texas loses all their games in the 2nd Half after Sark's halftime talks. And Texas refuses to tackle, refuses to cover. And refuses get recruit top D-players but then - why should they come to Texas? Texas' coaches have been anti-development for a long long time. "Come to Texas - get worse!"

I just have to tell this. My mother takes LAMP classes at UT. These are classes for senior citizens. Chris Del Conti was the speaker last week. He spoke for a few minutes and then gave the floor open to questions. My mother asked him why we are not able to play 4 quarters of football. His response was this, "We are playing freshmen and they get tired."
I wish my mother could have had a follow up question because it would have been - so we have been playing only freshman for 15 years?

Texas needs to fix their 2nd half play calling and secondary. Sark’s play calling in the has been terrible since he got to Texas. The secondary didn’t make an adjustment all game. They stay in zone and kept getting shredded. Texas has the athletes to play man to man and they don’t. It doesn’t make sense to me.

I said this after the Alabama lost that this is Gon be a what if season. We can play and compete with any top team but they just have a pattern for teams coming back on them and winning. My statement was about the Big 12 officials preferences for UT over the years, not one game. UT gets away with more penalties than any other school. I've seen kick catch interference calls not get flagged and they have a history of getting away with targeting. Was watching a game a few years back and the announcer commented that UT had never had a targeting penalty during the tenure while the head of officiating was a UT grad.

That last drive the blame IMHO belongs on K-State coaching. QB is getting seriously pressured and they leave two timeouts in their pockets. Giving the offense time to catch their breath and coaches to tighten them up and AM wouldn't have made his bad decision. Not saying K-State would have won, but it wouldn't have been a turnover.

Honestly didn't think they had a chance with Martinez.. they needed to be able to throw the ball down the field the entire game not just in a come from behind effort.. it's like he doesn't give 100% on every down but coach Klieman won't yank him cuz he has some class.. he'll take the loss and move on... but yeah it might not look like it on paper but there was alot of critical BS calls and NO CALLS.. 1st and 35 come on!!! what a joke, every time they made it close Texas got bailed out !!! 3 points in the second half thanks to penalties.

AM is a good, not great, passing QB. He's so successful because he's a great running QB. I think Howard is a better passing QB, but Howard already has more interceptions with less time played. Not sure if Howard could have escaped the pass rushing, but we won't know this year.
