My Son Was A Hero (Erzi Yingxiong), aka Heroic Son, aka Poor Daddy (Pa Laopo), was a melodrama made in Shanghai in 1929 by the Great Wall Film Company. It features some notable stunt work in the final reel, as well as this brief fight scene between a thief and the homeowner who discovers him.

Not too bad for the 1920s. Beats a lot of what was put out in Hollywood as a fight scene.
