Her name is Tatiana and she is a master at her craft. "Teacher, Teacher" is another good example of her talent.
Yes you can speak after. There is absolutely techniques involved. Yes she is saying something while using her growls and vocal fries.
just because she domains the tecniques, just to be more clearly, there are people who try to use these techniques, or use diferent techniques and in that situation, the yelling become dangerous to the vocal chords. Like part of the career of Chester Benington from linkin park, RIP

I love this video because you can clearly see there is no strain whatsoever in her throat or neck. Pure talent to get those deep growls
Another song that shows it I believe would be "Sit, Stay, Rollover ".. and its called vocal fry.. it allows the deep growl produce versus using the vocal cords. (Less strain, more talent)

When performed correctly, screaming or growling is typically done using the false vocal folds and not the actual vocal cords themselves, hence Tatiana's ability to seamlessly switch from growls to clean vocals and back with no distortion in the cleans. She's using different parts for the different sounds essentially.
There is another healthy way to do the harsh vocals too without the false folds but you are right for Tatiana's way.

As someone passionate about metal and heavy music in general, screaming feels like intensity to me rather than anger. It’s intensity of emotion and sound, which creates a feeling of intensity for the listener. It is cathartic, whether it’s about sadness or anger or sometimes quite uplifting things too. I also happen to think that it sounds good too so I enjoy it all around haha.

Tatiana is an absolute gem.
So many people that don't listen to this genre hear screaming and say "wow they are so angry." I won't say that there aren't any metal songs that are angry but you really have to look at the lyrics. A lot of my favorites are actually quite sad or desperate and calling out for help and so when I hear screaming I think of the sadness and pain they are feeling and sometimes you just have to scream. My thoughts on it anyway. Would love to see you react to a band called Architects. A song called Memento Mori by them is a good example of this if you are interested.

well... in the case of Nekrogoblikon, I would argue they are growling because they are trying to properly represent goblins and goblin culture. (if you are unfamiliar with them, check out the music video "No One Survives")

That was all her. There is Slight vocal layering I think. Growls and vocal fries are just another way to add flavor to a performance. To me it brings a more raw and intense feel to a song

Understanding growling and screaming does take a bit of self training, much in the same way understanding Tech N9ne or Eminem when they start rapping fast. Its also why the popular saying in the community is "Listen to the meaning, not the screaming."

Nice analysis and totally spot on other than "she must be damaging her voice". She has been practicing using her false vocal cords for years to get that consistent growl/ and is just a master singer. You should check out her one take reaction Judgement and Punishment. J&P really gives you a flavor for just how amazing of a vocalist she is live with no distractions.

Yes the harsh vocals more commonly called growls have meaning and context. They can be applied to any emotion from pain, anger, happiness or relief it's all in the lyrics. I'd suggest in future reactions to Jinjer either look up the lyrics before or have them up while listening . Once ya get through the " language barrier" Tatiana's lyrics are essentially just poetry. Now the boys are just like to mess with boundaries in metal and fuse in jazz, reggae, and all types of genres hell they have a couple of songs that could be called pop.
My first time seeing them was a few years ago they opened for devil driver at the machine shop in flint Michigan was bad ass

There are so many lyrics in this song having to do with duality and I think that the screaming elevates that idea of duality perfectly. I would recommend looking up the lyrics and listening along while reading them. I've been mainly watching your Tom and Dicky reactions. When I saw a Jinjer reaction, you had my interest piqued. I saw a Jinjer show before the lockdowns. Great time. You are correct, the whole band are very talented. Ukrainian band that toured almost constantly before the coof, due to all the turmoil in their country. It made them tough. Tatiana's top 3 singers in an interview were Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald and Amy Winehouse. Quite a diverse selection for a metal band. All the members like bringing in other influences. I'm game to see you branch out to other genres. Thumbs up.

"screaming" is a vocal technique that actually takes a long time to hone and perfect to her level. And when it's done properly there is no damage done to your voice.
it is 100% her voice, technically its not screaming, she taught herself how to do this without ruining her vocal chords, and is in total control of it, this is a recorded band rehearsal to check out a new drummer

Tatiana is amazing, you should definitely check out her live Studio One Take version of “Judgement & Punishment”. It really shows off her range, and that this is all her own voice. The actual technique she is using doesn’t damage her voice at all.
The metal goddess that you are listening to is Tatiana, and yes that is 100% her voice. The bass player is Eugene, Vlad is the drummer, and Roman is the guitarist. Check out Perennial live at Wacken next. You are correct, they are all masters of their crafts.
Although the band recorded this together in a live session, there was some post-processing to layer the vocals and guitars. The pitch and distortion in those growls, however, is all Tatiana. As for the "why," it's the same reason for the "drop" in electronic dance music; it adds power and variation. Sometimes it denotes angry or negative emotions, but it's usually just about the "oomph." Think of it as another instrument.
Tatiana's voice gets the attention but her lyrics are what make me a fan. I feel her lyrics/songwriting are under appreciated.

As a huge metalfan since childhood, first of all: yess, they can speak after doing it. Screaming, fries, growls etc. are basically just singing techniques. Correctly done, they don't hurt the throat in no way.
Also i think, getting into metal music is like learnig how to listen to that type of music. You have to learn how to hear the beauty like melodies, emotions etc.
Once you get use to it, you can pick out most of the words.
I'm going to suggest either the official live version of "Perennial" or the single take version of "Judgement and Punishment" next.
