Ever since the invention of firearms, weapons designers have constantly sought to improve them. Some focused on increasing the range or accuracy, while others wanted to increase the rate of fire or the ammunition capacity. This has led to the creation of iconic and infamous weapons that can lay down a blistering rate of fire to mow down scores of enemies, or deliver pinpoint accurate shots from unbelievable distances.
There are some firearm designs that went a different route though. Made with concealment in mind, here are a few examples of seemingly mundane objects that hold a deadly secret.

"With my years of marine training, anything can be a weapon in my hands. Including this briefcase."
👏👏👏
Do you by any chance have a barcode at the back of your head?
@@cristanoverLMFAOOOOOOO😂😂😂😂
Nice work, agent 47.
Disgusting weapons
The briefcase gun is more of a "Oh you are robbing me? How about you eat some lead."
That would be a cool one-liner though
I loved the briefcase gun in James Bond and perfect dark (well laptop gun)
That’s stupid
I'm instantly reminded of that craigslist (or something) ad about disguised weapons but it's just an AR-15 or something with a sprite box wrapped over it in a hilarious way. Best was the guy was pretending to be serious about the ad causing the customer to go ballistic
Id buy
I'm sure the customers liked those ballistics.
And disguising a Glock as a plastic cup?
@@CliffCardi Carnikcon?
@@latewizard301 a what?
Fun fact: HK made a “modern” variant of the briefcase MP5 (still 80’s Samsonite looking) that had a ‘trigger’ release bar on the top of the briefcase handle.
When pressed/squeezed, the briefcase would open and drop to the floor. Leaving the MP5K with the handle attached in the person’s hand. Ready to go and shoot.
Way cooler than the original briefcase gun IMO.
Ah yes, Heckler and Coke - my favorite spicy beverage maker

1:40 It's like the suitcase gun from Black Lagoon, where Roberta had installed an LMG inside the case and even had a Spas-12 disguised as an umbrella.
That was a really fun Arc.
Edit: That, and Desperado. I was gonna bring up the movie, but thought it was too obvious and easy.
Thumbs up for Black Lagoon reference!!!! 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃Wish there are new season coming sooner or later....
@@medusaalpha7207 Did they?
That same thing also appears in Kingsman as well. Used by Eggsy in the final battle
Is your name a reference to Hotel Moscow?
Culture men black lagoon need more atention
17:17 OMG that caught me so off guard to the point it made me spit my drink. Taking a bite is one thing, but speaking with a mouthful really got me. Thanks Simple History for making my day better.
Kingsman anyone?
But the kingsman one more powerful is a rocket launcher as well and shield
Yup!!! But they had more modifications which makes much more potential then these..
What no!😊
This isn't a sawed off double barrel shotgun, it's my anxiety chihuahua therapy dog.😎

May ATF wouldn't recognized that.

Sword gun what is this Final Fantasy 8?
This checks out.
I really enjoyed your video about concealed guns, it showcases us the ingenuity of firearm designers, it also gives James Bond-style spy movie flair.
Its great to see a channel with a nice upload schedule AND high quality content
Probably the best makeshift guns in plain sight are the ones that are :
1. Indistinguishable from every day items
2. Single Shot or maybe two barrels for concealment
3. Foldable if applicable
4. Can be disposed of or put back into a concealed state leaving as little evidence behind as possible.
the FMG-9 is a prime example of perfectly concealed weapons
Pronounciation of Spezialkoffer and Spezialtasche in this show is kind of exotic but very charming. As a German it reminds me on a mixture between Dutch and Swedish.
My dad's father was a navy engineer back in the early days and he was a supervisor and help design and build ships even the uss Missouri and a few others
The umbrella gun is the funniest
Kingsman Eggsy: 🤨

The Poacher Guns live on, although under a different name: Survival Rifle.
Still light in weight and easy to transport, it's meant for, well, survival, hunting small game. At least one model has both .22 And 12 Gauge.
The UC-9 wasn't the only folding SMG, there's also the Hotchkiss Universal.
The FMG-9 was another folding SMG
You really did a great job at pronouncing "Spezialkoffer".
Can’t wait for more updates and content from this amazing channel!
I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work. I remember on the 11th of November we always watched your World War One videos in my school.
They had one of those briefcase H&K weapons at the Small Arms School Corps Weapons Collection in Warminster when I visited. I must say that the connection from briefcase handle to trigger did seem a bit "Heath Robinson" from memory.
i always thought the briefcase gun was something made up for kingsman the golden circle
The UC-9 concept did have a modern-day successor in the form of Magpul's FMG-9.
Yeah I was very surprised he didn’t mention the FMG-9 in this vid
2:30 that sound the guy made when he died 😂
I had one !
In about 1965 in 4th grade I got a Man From Uncle spy briefcase that had a build in pistol ……
Saw one on line in toys on ebay for about 750 bucks .
Still tossing a vote on MACV-SOG unit video along with Jim Corbett The Maneater Hunter
This thumbnail’s great for a very specific reason.
When my dad was an instructor in the swat/millitary community, he was kinda sorta “apprenticed” to a man i Didn’t catch the name of. In one of his “lessons,” my dad was handed an mp5 and a manual written entirely in german.
My dad didn’t know a lick of german.
His instruction was to teach a class on the disassembly and maintenance of the mp5 the next day. He was given the mp5 and manual in a PAPER BAG to bring back to his hotel. He translated the manual overnight and taught the class without a hitch the next day.
THESE DISGUISED WEAPONS LOOKS LIKE FROM THE MOVIES & TV SHOWS, IT WAS AWESOME! 🔫➡️💼📺🎬🎥👍
I liked this format. Gave some extra fun to the video. But the x-ray gun is S tear for sure
The briefcase machinegun from the thumbnail, I immediately think of the guitar case machine gun from Desperado
I think the Camera Gun is S-Tier. 😂😂😂
the cameraman always survives
2:24 Average villain in a movie be like:
Am I the only one amused that his character ate a toasted pop tart and he went so far to make it sound like he had?😂
I’ve seen one the infamous KGB umbrella poison weapon.
They have an umbrella gun in the museum of spying in Washington DC, but they stress that it is not the one the assasins used but what they think it could have been, as the real weapon has never been captured, the Russians have also used radiactive powder as a poison.
Probably the best ad segway I’ve ever seen
3:32
Romeo Must Die comes to mind immediately. Was so cool to actually seen that being used.
The briefcase gun
Imagine just picking up a briefcase someone left behind and accidentally shooting someone
My favorite is the Castro cigar and they tested it on CIA versus KGB Deadliest Warrior.
I’m a huge fan of the cane gun. I’ve always wanted one to be honest.
A few years ago someone made a concealable holder for a Glock pistol similar to the UC-9, except it looked like an E-book or tablet (also have we seriously reached the time we have to explained what a boombox is?). Not sure it's the successor who made it or someone came up on their own.
23:01 and that one is from 1946 kinda bizzare
Politicians need protection lol but not the people
What is this implying?
The only politicians who get protection are the President and Vice President, you know, the 2 most powerful people on the planet? As for the public that's what we have the police for, or guns for self defense if you want
And you see what happens with russia
That what they Think...
An it don't make it true
I believe you forgot to put? At the end which confused many people like me.

so good vid man👍
19:55 the guy walks away at the end... lmao
I thought thoes were some pretty sick dance moves @ 13:00 😂
My friend uses a cane and he got a nice metal one recently that unscrews at some parts and has two knives, one that's more of a saw, and a flint for starting fires inside.
the "Special Case" might be of limited use but it is really well engineered, as you would expect from H&K. there was a copycat version made with a Mac 10 inside that was kind of hilariously homebrew in comparison.
The Pen Gun maybe mightier than the Sword, but the Sword Gun is mightier than the Pen Gun.
On 17:15 I KNEW That is Recognized that Firearm, and I Vaguely recalled RoboCop, when I saw it, I was like what in the world is that thing, thank you simple history for telling me
Mp5k in a briefcase? Bet.
The UC-9’s my favourite of the bunch. I’ve seen a modern example on the Discovery channel show Sons of Guns, they disguised it as a Bluetooth speaker to surprise the boss.
In Japan that brief case gun would be super easy to conceal
15:00 I remember first seeing this in Robocop 2.
1:51 “I keep a strap in briefcase” ahh moment
Super dope video,great content
There have been a few other folding, disguised handguns made. They are typically single-shot or semi-auto with a magazine. The only issue with the one featured in the video was that it was Class III, fully automatic weapon... which cannot be sold to individuals that are not licensed to resell automatic weapons (to law enforcement for example).
What kinda James Bond lookin ahh is that suit case 😭🙏

I've held a briefcase gun, with the MP5 in it. It looks badass and is mechanically simple.

I like the x ray gun. The little animation at the end was funny. Plus it can also work in modern day.

It was a great episode too! Lethal weapon for assassinations, not meant for all out combat!
Still love the punch glove gun lol
Someone's been watching Forgotten Weapons.
A video about the R9X "Ninja" rocket would be interesting !!!
Another improvised and disguised as an everyday object gun was the various improvised mortars used during the troubles in Northern Ireland by the provisional IRA, there was one that was a 15 and a half inch mortar known as the barricbuster and it was usually concealed in the back of a ordinary looking panel van or box truck like a Ford Transit and there would be a panel cut out in the roof that could be knocked out of place when the gun fires, and they were mostly fired autonomously using a timer, the driver would park the van in a specific spot, leave either with a stashed bicycle or even by hailing a cab and then after a predetermined time the mortar would fire and lob a 300 lb high explosive shell at whatever they were trying to hit. It was also nicknamed The flying car bomb

My stepfather's Russian-born friend told a story of how he witnessed a Russian colleague of his, collaborating with the US defense establishment, shot and killed with a poison dart from a blow gun, inside a grocery store in the Washington, DC area
That ending scene with the X-ray gun was kind of funny, actually.
