Here's a monthly test of one of Paducah's remaining Thunderbolts. This one is located atop Lourdes Hospital. It's a very iconic siren, seen just as you enter Paducah from I-24. There's a weird delay with the rotator but other than that, it sounds great. Throughout the test you can hear another bolt peep in from time to time. I assume it's the one with the missing horn bolts which is still chugging along. I'm just glad I was able to record this one before it eventually gets replaced. I believe at this point all of Paducah's remaining Thunderbolts (and a couple that are gone) have been recorded at least once. The county has been replacing the Thunderbolts as they fail so I'm hoping to grab as many recordings from the area before it becomes 2001 land. My next goal is Lone Oak, a redo of the Concord Elem siren, an ambience, and hopefully an STH-10.
Sirens in McCracken County are tested on the first Saturday of the month at 1PM, Central. Tests are not conducted when it's overcast or on holiday weekends, though I've noticed a few exceptions to the latter.

Yay you did the one on Lourdes Hospital! I saw that siren on top of that hospital on a vacation in Paducah when I was visiting my grandma!
Seems like the rotator needs some service. But other than that, it sounds very healthy! Great video as always. Never knew Paducah had another 1000T.

My school is next to that siren and my dad works at that hospital and I got at least 25 feet away from it. It is cool.

I recorded this one also, my recording is horrible lol, I also recorded another one in paducah also which is next to the cemetery. I found out paducah had thunderbolts after i watched this for the first time and i was super happy as i live next to paducah.
We just moved to this area and I saw this exact Thunderbolt on top of the hospital.
To also add the Paducah Gaseous diffusion plant Whelens are tested the same time as McCracken County.

Bro, have you ever been on the Irvin S Cobb Bridge? It leads you from Paducah to Brookport, Illinois. It's the longest bridge I've ever seen and been on!
Yeah it’s a scary drive but cool nonetheless. You can see the river through the grated deck and it makes an interesting sound

Absolutely outstanding video! The rotator seems to have difficulties starting.
I wouldn't say that was the rotator struggling, i'd maybe say a bad contactor.
@@childishtombino1275 or needs a belt adjusted or a new belt.
@@johndeerefan725 I'm not sure. I think youd see a lot more struggle throughout. It was perfectly fine after it started rotating. I'm fairly confident it'll be an issue on the electrical side of things.

I cant tell on this one to be honest. Paducah does have some 5ms on their system but they also have some 4ms.
