If you make CZcams videos, Tiktoks and more this will be really handy for you.
Tonight we're learning how to Record sources in OBS separately, that way you can make it so your Webcam and your Gameplay are recorded into separate video files, making it more convenient for you to edit in your Editing Software!
This was a request from my friend Sparklix so I hope I was able to help!

OMFG IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A TUTORIAL FOREVER. YOURE THE ONLY PERSON TO DO IT Exactly how I needed it! Thank you so much ❤
did it actually work for you in the end?
Glad I could help!
Awesome video, thanks for the help! I ended up getting the audio separate by making sure the 2 audio sources were on separate tracks using the audio mixer (Gameplay on track 1 only, and mic on track 2 only). Then when you setup the plugin, select the correct track and device and they should separate accordingly into each file.
If you want to separate the audio…
select the track that the source is assigned to.
Track 1 usually is the stream track so it contains all audio. If i have my mic assigned to Track 3 on advance audio settings then on the Source Recording plugin effect settings i select “separate audio” and select track 3 and the source mic/aux,
then if my capture card is assigned to track 4 so on Source Recording plugin effect settings i select “separate audio” select track 4 and on source i select my capture card and boom 🤯
ALL AUDIO will be separate.
Kinda obvious but it took me 2 hours to figure it out. Hope somebody that needed this can find this comment.
Since I play music on my streams when selecting Track 1 on the source recording plugin it recorded my voice, the gameplay audio and my music all together because track 1 is all the sound at once. But you have to take the time to assign different tracks for all the sources you want to record separately. For example I have all my audio sources on track 1 for streaming, then i have my mic on track 2 and turned off on all other tracks. Then i have my gameplay on track 1 for streaming and then on track 3 and off on all other tracks and so on and so forth. Blessings to all 🙏🏽
i'm processing this... hope it'll work on me
@@chairunnisaanindita it worked perfectly for me, been using this setup to produce footage for tiktoks and yutube shorts. added the plug in for my capture card source to record my gameplay then also added it to an unrelated source of my overlay just to record my microphone audio separately from my game audio. Hope it works for you!
how do u find out which track ur source is assigned to?
I have re-read your comment at least 10 times very carefully following each step and my audio still doesn't separate. could we link up? I need u to walk me through this
You are amazing
bro i have been looking for such a guy like you to clearly teach us how to do things in simple manners , thank you so much here is my subscribe for you
Happy that my content helped you in some way.
Thank you very much for this video. This has helped so much, been looking a long time for this answer!
Awesome video! I’m sure many people will find this super helpful
I hope so too!
Thank you so much for this cristp and to the point instructional video. It really helped me to record two sources at one time and using hotkeys even made it much easier. I tried many videos before but none gave such clear instructions
This actually helped me, TYSM Man!!
I'm happy I was able to help!
Thank you for your support
Thanks much! Been having major issues with compression so hoping this helps alleviate that
This seems really helpful. I kept looking for this but most videos were complicating it for some reason
Thank you sir, this fast tracked getting started for my wife's author interviews. She wanted a solution where guests didn't have to install any apps or programs. Worked like a charm after playing around. I figured out how to get separate audio: I set up a scene with two sources, guest and host. In the source record filter, settings for guest Different Audio; Audio Track - Track 1; Source - guest. settings for host same but change audio track to 2 and source to host. Then in main obs screen, right click on either source and choose advanced audio settings and uncheck all but track 1 for guest and track 2 for host.
very useful Tutorial m8 loved it!!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the video, I didn't know how to do it and you explained it very easily
Did you try this yet? I tried with windows and it isn’t working at all
Thank you ❤
This is a lifesaver!
Thank you so much for the tutorial for dummies! This is going to help me so much record art sessions properly while I am streaming, so I can make speed paint videos later, too! -wiggles- \o/ Thanks a ton!
Great video dude! Keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
thanks for the help on this!
No problem!
This is super useful!
I'm glad! Hope it makes a difference :D
THX MAN!!
I wonder if changing the audio tracks in the in the main setting section can help with that… I’m gonna try this out tomorrow, thanks so much for his video!
Best of luck!
I hope my video was able to help.
9 subscribers a year ago, now look at you! Thanks again Synkro!
Bless you.
All I did was not select a track for the mic audio and then got the separate just mic audio on my cam footage however truly separating doesn’t seem possible because at least 1 track needs to be serviceable
Thanks!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Banana Voicemeeter. That's how you separate your audio if it's multiple different sound sources, it should be possible to separate them through that application.
Dear Desynkro or dear friends, is there a software for recording game videos and facecam at the same time ? youtubers record them separately and combine later, but can gaming and facecam be done at the same time ?
You did pretty good
Thanks Buddy
No problem
Can you set the source record to do split recording, like in the "output" settings under "Auto file splitting (Split time = eg. 10mins) As of now, the source record records the full sessions only. Was wondering if there is a setting where you can control the recording times.
To record them seperately, you have to go to audio mixer and set which sources go to which audio tracks. Also while im here, obs is recording 3 videos, my 2 sources and the third one isnt labeled and its both of them. Thoughts on how to fix?
Yeah put 'source record' on a track, and take that track off of other sources in audio mixer. Don't put all sources on all tracks. That's too much party
Thank you very much - this works great!
Thank you i have been doing double recording.
Is there a solution because I have does not show resources
I'm not sure why but when I install the source record plugin and follow these steps, I am indeed getting 3 video files, but they all are the same thing (my screen recording plus webcam).
Hello! Can I use it to record 2-3 Web Browsers with it with different audio sources of each and at same time?
whats the best encoder to use ? the footage comes out soo laggy
On your thumbnail it shows recordings with white outliners, how do you record the source with it at the same time as I believe its another filter you add but it will not work.
Hey De! A question, everything works perfectly, however when i go to see the gameplay video it looks in worst quality than when i record, any ideas why? i tried checking the settings and all look the same
can i do this without it resetting my entire obs? like is there something specific that i can add into my existing obs?
I followed your steps for installing it, but it still doesn't show up as a filter. Could I have some help?
Posting this for anyone who may also have this question: Make sure you open the file location for OBS to find your directory. Once there, copy and paste the zipped files to the main folder (not the plugins folder). Reset OBS, and try again. If the problem persists, i can’t help bc i didn’t make it that far lol sorry
7:09 If you’re just recording then what I do is tern off the mic on OBS and record it with audacity instead. At the start of the recording just count something on screen to help you sink it.
Do I need a really beefy pc to use this source plugin?
I understand the Preview Window,
but if I'm recording an area on my 2nd Display (monitor), is there a way for myself to see the area that's being recorded (on the 2nd display)?
Not that I'm aware of, as far as I know, anything being recorded with the plugin you wont be able to see.
@@DeSynkro Ok, thank you for your response!
What version of OBS are you using? The plugin does not work at all with Obs 28 and it constantly crashes. Edit: Works with 28. I had to change my encoder to x.264 instead of QSV for it to work.
Thank you for sharing that, I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working for me!
Did you able to figure it out, how to separate the two audio tracks to their suitable video files ?
Anyone knows how to do a replay BUT the replay is recorded from other camera source ? ( not the camera showing on the stream main camera )
Please help I don't show the resources what can I do
For some reason I can’t get the plug-in to pop up anywhere and did everything like you did
Sorry, I don't make OBS-related content or stream anymore.
Hmmm, got psyched when i watched this, but file names and folders do not match what you are shoing in your tutorial. any idea whats wrong?
It doesn't work at all for me and I can't figure out why. I changed to "software" and everything I could think of, but still only 1 recording is made. The hotkeys don't work at all is what I think the problem is, but I also notice the little "eye" icon turns off all the time by itself. Any ideas?
whenever I try this, and ive watched MANY vids on this, the output I get still has all sources and there is never any audio. Please help!
Sorry, I don't make OBS-related content or stream anymore.
bro did the installation correctly but filter doesnt show up on obs
did you find a solution? im running into the same thing
Doesn't show up in the most recent OBS version.
Doesnt work, followed everything and the hotkeys dont work, I have tried changing them to every different button
Don't you have to use MKV as a file format to get separate audio tracks? I believe OBS states this when you select mp4 as the recording format. It gives you like a little warning underneath it.
Sorry, I don't make OBS-related content or stream anymore.
However, I don't think MKV or MP4 formats have anything to do with Audio. I always record in MP4
@@DeSynkro regardless thanks for the reply. 👍
@@MrPlagueOnline that is correct. However this plugin only records one audio track at a time per source. So it doesn’t matter which format you record it in.
If you want to record two separate audio tracks you will have to set it up to record two different video sources while assigning different audio tracks per recording. Hope this helps!
I've downloaded the plug-in multiple times, and it won't go through, I've restarted obs as well, is there another way to install this
Sorry, I don't make OBS-related content or stream anymore.
Hi there, great idea but I have issues. I set all thing well. Separate camera record - good. But only game capture video is always shorter and unwatchable, it lagged, low-quality. I tried all the codecs that are available to me: NVENC, SVT1-AV1, x264. nothing helps, some advice, please?
Hi! Did you solved it? Thanks
@@sirayca_ Unfortunately no, it was an experiment, so I screwed up. I see a weak graphics card as the reason.
"i wanna be a furry" 💀💀
I am going to try but maybe I will need some help...
Here to help if needed :D
if ur still struggling with both audios, in editing, mute the webcam.
this doesn't work for transparent elements... it's just a solid black background and i can't do shit about it.
can you help me ??
why does it say i want to be afurry in his files
It's called a meme
😗
Doesn't seem to work anymore, unless I'm doing something wrong
Sorry, I don't make OBS-related content or stream anymore. It might not have been updated to the newer OBS versions
Well, I did this. I still think it's easier to record in ClipChamp, (it's garbage, I know, but the recording function is 10x easier than OBS, ScreenRec, I've tried dozens of screen capture applications and it's either a watermark, time limit on recording, or it's the two screens (YT and facecam) in frame yet when I open that file in my editing application, it's one file, I can't crop two screens out of one so it's like, set it exactly as I want it now because I won't be able to change it later. Am I a moron, or did I miss something, the plug-in gives me two seperate recordings, one for the amount of time I recorded and the second one is never more than a second long, no there is no limit in OBS, I made sure that setting is off. It's gotta be me, right?? ClipChamp I can record screen and facecam, it auto makes two files with their own soundtrack, pop it in CapCut after I export it from ClipChamp, easy peasy. I have to be messing up somewhere, right??
This doesn’t work with Streamlabs obs 😔
Streamlabs is garbage
Anyone else experiencing issues? Did everything accordingly and not working at all.
Any Mac M1 users who were able to get this to work. It just won't show up in OBS
So what's in the "Ghost is a Furry" folder?
Pictures of his Fursona.
it`s not worrkign for me
its lagy
Please enter in comments the name of the plugin to save two separate files. I need desktop capture and webcam capture in two separate files. Thank you. And how to install. Your video you blasted through it too fast.
Clever!
