i think your experience being a minimalist wasn't the best because of these reasons :
1.Minimalism doesn't let you get rid of the things that bring you happiness and joy :) so you can have your lights and internet
2. You can have food obviously.
3. You can decorate your apartment with some simple decorations.
4. The point of minimalism is not to reduce the things that you have , but to let you focus on the things that matter in life, and let you free of all the unnecessary stuff around :)
Note: I'm not a minimalist but I know that your life is not supposed to be boring with minimalism.

I am suddenly greatly appreciative of FaceTime for keeping me in contact with someone not in my family, that I attend a university that can go virtual so I can still graduate on time even if we don’t get a ceremony, and the wonderful people who deliver packages and mail to me. Im lucky to be healthy and have a roof and food so really things could be much worse than just the insanity of isolation!

That lady’s trolley just had toilet roll it was like a whole tower, people really need to calm down we’re not on lockdown for a whole year, everyone’s just being greedy and it’s ridiculous, that clip of those two ladies fighting was just unnecessary she had enough toilet roll and she didn’t need to beat someone up, she’s also a grown women, she can do better, as the black lady was talking to her she was also shielding the toilet roll, if that black lady stole a roll it would teach the white one a lesson KMT😒.

See I live in an Asian household and we just living normally with no stress during quarantine cuz my parents used to be at work everyday before and now they are stress free lolol.
A plus is that in England, shops aren't that difficult to buy stuff anymore
You can always keep things that spark joy you don't have to give up your fairy lights to be minimalistic.
It's been very hard on me this lockdown my internet connection is absolutely horrible I can barely connect and watch CZcams once every few days where I live, I used to go to my family to do that, and now I'm almost without internet and away from my family it's been tough, also food is scarce. Facing all of this with so much free time and nothing to distract you is not easy.

As a Minimalist, my definition to it is eliminating items, distractions, and commitments. All in order to be more productive, having the mental clarity and time to improve.
I'd say eliminating stuff is just a hit from Marie Kondo level. Not yet minimalism since with the rest of the week, we could've wrote poetry or songs, read some books lying around, organizing computer files, and trying some home workouts and not just primarily binge watching shows.
But overall, it's a good start. Hope when the current crisis is over, you could give this another shot.
